I don't care for campy Luthors at all, and I had hoped that in the X-Treme Snyderverse, we'd at least get a menacing Luthor. Instead, we've got some lame attempt at comic relief?
Desert Force Batman is rad, though.

Do you think WB could sound any more like giant assholes in their press release for the Suicide Squad trailer?
She said, "You're pretty good with words, but words won't save your life."
And they didn't.

I saw Ant-Man tonight, and it's terrific. I liked Age of Ultron, but it was nice to have a superhero movie with stakes that weren't THE END OF ALL LIFE or whatever

A friend described it as "The movie Robert Zemeckis would have eventually made if he kept making movies as good as Back to the Future."
So, yeah. PRETTY STOKED to see it now.

Maybe, hopefully, it will bomb bad enough to give Disney a strong negotiating position to get the rights to Doom back.
I don't really care about the rest...
Won't happen, not as long as Marvel is doing as well as it is. That and they're holding it for spite. They don't want Marvel to get the rights and make a brilliant FF movie - which is practically guaranteed.

Brad Bird is making Incredibles 2, so yes, guarantee met.
Finally had a chance to see Antman over the weekend. I really liked it and looking forward to seeing this corner of the MCU explored more.
One thing though...
With the amount of times I saw "Baskin Robbins always finds out" get repeated on forums and such, I expected there to be more to it in the movie.
Like at the end when Luis is relating the story about Falcon looking for Antman, I expected the boss from Baskin Robbins to show up and somehow know that Scott was Antman because "Baskin Robbins always finds out" or something. But apparently it was just that bit at the very beginning.
On a related note, my wife and I were recently offered free tickets to Fantastic Four early screening and we turned them down. Looks like we made a good choice. Of course, the showing was also at 10am so that played into it a little.
I assumed the "Yes" is that they were looking to recruit him, but I also missed the specific dialogue that indicated that, as opposed to wanting to capture him for stealing from an Avenger's facility.

I figured it was a little from column A and a little from column B.
If Marvel gets FF back they need to get Brad Bird to write its screenplay. This needs to happen sooner rather than later. It was bad enough with Story's FF, but Fox seems to getting worse with these movies and all they're doing is hurting themselves.
They won't get it back, otherwise FOX wouldn't have made the movie in the first place.
There's always a chance they'll slip up and won't make it in time. They had a new Daredevil movie on track in this exact situation years ago and failed.
Not repeatable at the moment with Fox; they weren't on a sinking ship like with Sony.

At this point, Fox should just give Fantastic Four back to Marvel, with the stipulation that they get a percentage of the profit that a Marvel FF movie will make.
Marvel is probably fine playing the long game. They don't need the FF license and bad movies aren't going to tarnish it too badly over time. Eventually Fox will either make a good one or realize it is in their best interest to hand it back to Disney (in exchange for something). From there Marvel can sit on it for a few years, then reboot.

No more reboots! Just start mid-action sequence and make it the founding of the future foundation.

That'd still be a reboot. They're not going to continue with Corman's, Tim Story's or Trank's FF. I want an experienced FF.
I'm not sure a non-origin FF movie would work in the MCU, at least not without setting them up a few movies in advance - which they could totally do.
FF operate openly from day 1, after all.
The basics about the origin are well known thanks to the movies, maybe a reference to Reed fucking up the shields and Dr. Doom not being there. Show it in flashback ala Incredible Hulk, or cut to brief flashbacks through the movie like Batman Begins, linking the relevance to the present plot.
Actually if budgets would allow I'd prefer FF as a TV series anyway.
Eh, just Johnny's. And by the time this happens they'll have to have a way to do that cheap. And if they can do Hulk in the 60's Thing is no problem! :P

It's not the FF powers that are the problem - it's the worlds they go to, the entities they meet and enemies they fight.

I have faith in them.

Why I fear the ocean.

That makes me even more excited to see it tomorrow! Back to the Future is my favorite trilogy. Oh man, tomorrow is going to rock!
I loved it and would kill to see a cold-war ant-man or any super hero movie so bad!
I needs me some Mother.

I only went for Doom. I was very disappointed. You can tell it's one of those movies they make only to keep the license

Is this something that was known before, or just suspected? Regardless. I'm now very excited.
Thank Jebus. Him being able to talk to a real bird would have been weird.

The FF effects are too crazy for tv.

Well, if Doctor Who can pull it off!... So yeah, not going to happen.
