Hell. Even like 4 months ago I would have said it could be considered a finished game.
I asked there, but I could ask here, too. Did they add the functionality of the deadly re-entry mod into the base game for 1.0 release? I'm seeing stuff about heat and aerodynamics, so I assume yes?
I know I've said it before, but I think it's fo' sho' this time. Dark Souls, I'm out! My bullshit tolerance has been worn down and now I've had enough.
I was one of those people, one of those who enjoyed Dark Souls initially, one of those DS Apologists. When people would cry "This is unfair nonsense", I'd tell them to git gud. I'd defend the repetitive nature of dying, saying "It's a learning experience, every death teaches you what not to do next time."
Now, I'm screaming "Fuck this shite" at the top of my lungs. Seriously. There is nothing interesting about Lost Izalith. Fighting the Bed of Chaos consists of a run through an uninteresting, boring path through easy fire breathing weebles, only to die in one hit from the boss, or for the ground to crumble with no opportunity to react and send me to my doom. Before that, fights against enemies in lava with my health slowly draining, with a camera that makes it impossible to actually see what's happening.
So now I stand with those I called heathens before. "Dark Souls is such bullshit!" Oh well, onto something actually fun!
DISCLAIMER: The above is opinion, it's OK if you like it.
You're totally wrong though, and have horrible taste.
But I still love you!
Well, here's the thing @Xiears. You can still love dark souls! Everyone hates Lost izalith. Even the most diehard devout Dark souls fanboy hates lost izalith.
The devs have apologized for Lost Izalith. It's okay. We understand.

I loved Dark Souls but yeah, Lost Izalith and the Bed of Chaos are basically the part that everyone tries to forget. Not sure if you've seen how to beat the BoC (it's actually pretty easy if things go your way). If you really hate and you aren't having fun, then I think it's fair to ditch it. However, if you didn't beat BoC, I would watch a video because then you can just ignore that part of the game. If you already have the other 3 Lord Vessels or whatever they are called, then you are very close to the end. And the DLC is really good too, if you haven't already done that.
Obviously, if you aren't having fun anymore, then you are well within your rights to stop playing and that's a pretty reasonable response when talking about playing a game. But if you have any of that other stuff, that's all pretty fun and BoC can be gotten past without too much trouble when you know what to do.
God damn guys mentioning shadow of mordor. I've wanted it since it came out but not certain I'll be able to run it well. Same problem with witcher 3 right now And not sure I wanna plonk down the cash and then "lol nope 10fps".
Gtx 750ti, amd FX6300, 8gb ram. What do we think? Should I go for it?
you should have no issues. i run i tmostly maxed on my 670
A 670 is significantly more powerful than a 750.
but the numbers
The first number just denotes the generation. The second number is a relative indicator of power and intended usage. As a general rule of thumb, they can be roughly divided thus: 1-3 = office, 4-5 = budget/multimedia, 6-7 = gaming, 8-9 = "enthusiast" gaming (and now they seem to have changed "9" to "Titan"). AMD follows a more or less similar scheme.
How did I go my whole life in PC gaming without knowing this? I feel like a fraud
On the upside, this makes me feel a lot better about getting the Witcher 3 to run above minimum settings.
wow, 4 pages behind today. Well, my washer died needed repairs, but I think I got it working. To celebrate I think I'm going to play dues ex: HR. I'm loving that game so far. I don't think I will play twice for multiple endings. Unless they are stupid easy to get like save before last convo, and pick other option. But good game. I'm lost in Detroit taking all the things. Must loot everything.
They are exactly that, which is a bit of an anticlimax. But they're all worth a watch.
Well than I will see them both, but. . .
There's four of them, IIRC.
EDIT: From the Deus Ex wiki: "The 4 endings each will have slightly different narration from Jensen depending on whether you were good, neutral, or evil throughout the game. This means that the game has 12 unique endings."
Regarding the washer:
When ours got its filter clogged and wouldn't drain, we got the water out by pulling the washer away from the wall, tilting it backwards so the filter cover was above the waterline, taking out the filter, and tilting the washer forwards carefully with a washing bowl under the filter opening to catch the water.

Note that your bodycount isn't what determines whether you were good, evil, or neutral. it's more a function of how you complete quests (so don't doublecross people that give you side quests for a greater reward if you want to stay good).
Wait, so some endings depend on how I answer? Well, I'm getting whatever endings I get in the end. I just don't think I will play again just to see endings. I will most likely youtube them when I finish.
Nothing that complicated really. The other endings are literally in arms reach of you at the branching point.
Guess I just need to know the branching point, without spoilers if possible.
on the f washer / little alure
put it half out the door so it drained into the yard. It still errored, I think the circulation motor is bad. I'm done for the day, time to sleep, and figure out what to do tomorrow.
Oh tomorrow? Why it is little allure's 2 month doctor. So that means shots, and I stay home to handle while Mrs. Alure works. I hate laundry at this point in my life. That and the deciding to use cloth diapers.

Bed of Chaos is not the toughest fight in the game but it is easily the most hated. It's not really a fight, it's a puzzle. One that can be easily cheesed.
If you quit out of the game, it dumps you outside the boss room but with certain actions done still in play. So people will run along the safe path where you can't be hit to the left and snipe the weak point with a bow from a safe spot until the next phase triggers, quit out, and load back in. Then do the right side which has no perfectly safe path and spot but is still a lot easier than doing the full run from the other side, hit the weak spot, quit, and reload in. Then the run towards the now open middle weak spot. You still might get killed in which case you have to redo all this but it's a lot less dealing with seemingly random deaths.

I thought BoC was pretty simple, it's true though it's more of a puzzle than a boss. Took maybe 4 or 5 tries for me. Dost thou hast Havel's armor? You can cheese most bosses (especially Four Kings) with that set.
I just thought it was funny that under that huge blow up I saw a green steam signature with "Currently Playing: Dark Souls Prepare To Die Edition"

Heh, I'd literally Alt-F4'ed out in rage and posted that Seeing that the concensus is that BoC is widely considered an annoying fight takes the sting out a little, but even so I think I'm done. I did enjoy my time with the game for the most part, but I've definitely lost steam and have no desire to continue.
Currently installing Influx, hoping something a little more sedate will calm me down!

To be fair, we all know the hardest boss is those damn snipers in Anor Londo.
Blackguards 2 sale is tempting, but I also kind of doubt I'll manage to play before another sale for it turns up. I'm still only in the early phases of Act 2 in Pillars of Eternity. Hearthstone is still working for me, and Witcher 3 is pretty soon. Plus a Broken Age replay to go through Act 2 and whatever other episodic releases come out in the meantime.
Did anyone ever actually put some time into Blackguards 2?
My fearless captain, @CorriganX, wanted me to relive exploring and being stranded on alien planets and sent me a wonderful gift of Out There Somewhere in my space afterlife. And so I shall!
Man, I wish I wasn't at work right now, so I could work on finishing Broken Age part 2.
Because it was really good from the couple of hours I put into it this morning. Puzzles were harder, but not too hard. Actually had to pull out paper and make a chart for one.
Not going to spoil it, but holy shit do they throw some plot I wasn't expecting on you right away too. And I really enjoy Vella's SMASH THE STATE! enthusiasm.

So...wow. Valve removed the paid mods from Steam workshop. (Link)
We're going to remove the payment feature from the Skyrim workshop. For anyone who spent money on a mod, we'll be refunding you the complete amount. We talked to the team at Bethesda and they agree.
We've done this because it's clear we didn't understand exactly what we were doing. We've been shipping many features over the years aimed at allowing community creators to receive a share of the rewards, and in the past, they've been received well. It's obvious now that this case is different.
To help you understand why we thought this was a good idea, our main goals were to allow mod makers the opportunity to work on their mods full time if they wanted to, and to encourage developers to provide better support to their mod communities. We thought this would result in better mods for everyone, both free & paid. We wanted more great mods becoming great products, like Dota, Counter-strike, DayZ, and Killing Floor, and we wanted that to happen organically for any mod maker who wanted to take a shot at it.
But we underestimated the differences between our previously successful revenue sharing models, and the addition of paid mods to Skyrim's workshop. We understand our own game's communities pretty well, but stepping into an established, years old modding community in Skyrim was probably not the right place to start iterating. We think this made us miss the mark pretty badly, even though we believe there's a useful feature somewhere here.
Now that you've backed a dump truck of feedback onto our inboxes, we'll be chewing through that, but if you have any further thoughts let us know.
I would really hope as some kind of token of good faith, those who actually earned cash from this debacle would get to keep it.
Unlikely since nothing was actually paid out to them yet, afaik. I feel like I read that there was like a 90-day wait on actually getting paid? I could be wildly misremembering.
I think a open micro-crowdfunded model would be much better.
Modder says he'll make x for y dollars. Crowd puts up y dollars in escrow. Modder releases x to the public, gets money from escrow. People rate modders based on past releases so you know whether or not to back their current work.
Could be as little as a dollar for a simple model or texture, or maybe thousands for a complete UI overhaul.

You guys, I opened up Steam tonight and went straight to my games library as usual. I opened up a non-Steam game almost by reflex, so I didn't have the fortune of taking a screenshot beforehand to verify it.
But before it changed, I swear I saw the "Last "Played" timestamp listed as... "Tomorrow".
Is... Is this a thing, guys? Are my eyes just shit, or is there, like, something that Steam knows that I don't...?
So educate me a bit on Blackguards. It looks great and seems like the type of strategy game I love but the reviews seem mediocre.
Some of the fights are real kicks in the dick, the story and atmosphere is really heavy and grim dark stuff, its not for all people. Some of the harder fights play out more as a puzzle that your character may not be built to resolve in the way you want. For instance there is a fight where you can choose to save a woman or not, if you try to save her the fight is a REAL pain in the ass. Thats where a lot of people I know got angry, being unable to resolve the fight in the way they want because the game requires specific strategies or builds, etc.
Its a really really good game though, if you dont mind the super dark story.

It's pretty great. It's also hard as hell sometimes. But mostly it's pretty great. The voice acting is so delightfully and unapologetically hammy... you can't help but smile sometimes. The art is fantastic. The world is - well, it's The Dark Eye world, so if you're familiar with that there's not much to say. The mechanics are solid and engaging. Also with a fairly steep learning curve if you're new to The Dark Eye ruleset.
