I still use the mouse pad that came with the 360 version. It has pretty good wrist support. The game itself, the less said the better.
As someone who likes SRPGs and doesn't like handhelds, I prefer 'disappointed.' It wasn't that the game was just shat out or anything. There was a ton of content, a battle system that people obviously spent a lot of time crafting, a ton (well, too many) other systems to add depth, and it was just so, so not fun to play.
Nintendo really needs to come up with the 3DS EM console. And by console, I mean PC software that accepts credit cards and 360 controllers.
Yeah, everything I've read about the actual gameplay of Agarest says it's some kind of endless bureaucratic nightmare. Money quote:
For example: a key point of the game is the ability to capture monsters. To do this you need to learn the Capture Skill. To learn this skill you first need to know what it is, and to know what it is you need to own the Essential Arts IV book. This can be traded at the Guild for 75 TP, which is an extremely precious currency you earn from battles. You'll also need gold - except it's physically impossible to earn enough gold through battles to complete the game. So every so often you need to spend 25 TP buying a Vessel of Life to be sold for 50k gold. Once you have the book you can research the Capture Skill at the guild, requiring 3000 gold, plus a Longhorn, Shotgun and Poison Guard. These items can only be had at the Smithy, who will alchemize them if you bring several items plus more gold.
Before he can alchemize weapons though you need to bring him basic weapons books, so back to the guild to trade them for TP and then to the item store to buy the rest. In fact before anything can be researched or made, you'll need the books for the corresponding items or skills - and there are over 100 books throughout the game. Once the Smithy knows how to make the above items you'll need to bring him the following: iron break, handgun, horn of devilkin x 2, beast claw, bone guard, poison petal, poison needle, plus 1750G. Some items can be bought, others are item drops, while a few have to in themselves be alchemized, assuming you have the right books. Then it's back to the guild to trade for your Capture Skill. Except once you've got the skill you discover it's useless without another skill which reduces enemy health to only 1HP, and that can only be had through the exact same rigmarole as above. Cue uncontrollable screaming.

My big Elite: Dangerous plans for this weekend were sidetracked by my grandma's sudden passing, which really was a blessing with her horrible dementia the last few years. This lady inadvertently got me into heavy metal music by showing me this video: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hell's_Bells:_The_Dangers_of_Rock_'N'_Roll
Here's to you grandma!
Sounds like she was a great lady. Sorry for your loss, RIP.
Yay I beat mom! Now I guess the game really opens up.
Congrats, @anoffday ! Now there's just beating Mom's Heart umm...a bunch of times, and then Satan, the Lamb, [redacted for spoilers], and [umm...also redacted for spoilers], oh, and MegaSatan. Oh, and the challenges, depending on where you are with them. A walk in the park.
Actually, you're right though, from where you are, the game really starts getting fun.
As an aside, been really enjoying ChromaSquad. On the Season 4 Finale now, and fuck last X rounds missions. i just wish the crafting system didn't seem so jank. Anything i make is always outclassed by what's in the shop.
@CorriganX has been trying to get me to start playing Marvel Heroes pretty much on a daily basis. I was standing firm until @Viking decided he was having none of that.

You are both monsters. Thanks!
If you need a guide for leveling Winter Soldier.. I uh.. have a -bit- of experience..
CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Gah finally made it to the titular Necrodancer in Crypt of the Necrodancer and died with him at 1 health. Soul crushing.
You can do it Corpekata! The setup for the boss is kinda crazy though and hard to adjust to. I'm pretty sure reaching him unlocks practice if you want additional help.
And hopefully you don't lose too much health on Dead Ringer immediately before.
Unlocked Aria a few days ago. I...I don't think I'm worthy enough to beat the game with her.
Also came back from Mad Max: Fury Road. Let's just say I am way more excited to play the video game now.
@Corsini hit me with Consortium. As long as @jclast isn't around to treacherously murder me, I should be able to avoid dying in space...again.
I had done a pretty decent job of staying under the radar and keeping my "No New Games in 2015" pledge, but this week I've been hit a number of times with targeted class. You guys are the worst. I love you. I'm going back into hiding.
@Antoshka struck out of nowhere after his Hockey game (Field Hockey, not REAL hockey) and got me with the Guardian of the Galaxy bundle for Marvel Heroes. WOO! So hyped. Thanks so much. ROCKET RACCOON AND STAR-LORD WOOOOOO.

That . . .sounds horrible. And yet it also looks so good. How is that possible? Are the sequels just as bad?

Lessee, going pretty far in tie fighter but my latest loss of life is that mission where you break up the trap, kill Interdictor Bomb, scan everything before everything is killed, dodge batteries and missiles (thank goodness the other fighters killed the mines that last time), and now a bunch of high end enemy fighters jump in and cause trouble.
I love this fucking game and need more of it, strap every Disney executive to a stick and this game will return to canon.
Saw fury road, got free tickets afterward due to assholes starting a fight in the theater during the sandstorm scene.
So many little details and Chekov's guns that fired off that I didn't know were there. Go in blind. It was fun to go see with my mom because I watched a good chunk of the opening chase of the original back in the 80's with her. She changed the channel right after dude and his throat.........
Now I stare at my list of games and wonder what to beat......Skyrim Dawn of War Retribution.
Hey guys, been away a while, just wanted to say hi. Still good. Started playing Runescape again so my Steam games have been neglected. Someone help.
I don't think you want the kind of help this thread will give.

Played some more of South Park last night. Such a great game.
On the alien ship I just had to to mess up the button sequence. I had to! The option of seeing Randy in these sorts of funny dilemmas is too enjoyable to pass up.
Axiom Verge is fantastic. It is no ordinary Metroidvania. It is as they intentionally combined NES Metroid and NES Contra, both mechanically and aesthetically (the monsters are Nopetastic.)

There is a field hockey game? (aka the only real hockey)
I misread that I think. I would really like a field hockey game to be a real thing.

I was initially going to buy Axiom Verge immediately, but I held off and decided to play through some of the Castlevanias that I own which I never actually beat, I'm going through Dracula X Chronicles on my PSP and Harmony of Dissonance on GBA right now. I've beaten the former on its Wii virtual console version and the latter with a lesser ending, but I can do better.

It still makes me sad that none of the 2D Castlevanias have been ported to Steam, especially since Konami being Konami means that they're unlikely to ever happen.

Yeah, for years I'd been hoping we would get PC versions of Symphony of the Night and Harmony of Despair. HoD would be especially great with its multiplayer.
While I always had a little hope for it before, after the recent events at Konami I have no reason to think it'll ever happen.

I remember a while ago there was a shareware capture the flag game. Big fields and teams searching to find it. I think this was it. This needs to be updated rather than some shitty game mode in every damned FPS.

Aren't Konami basically ditching everything (bar MGSV, although I bet they'd do it to that too if they could get away with it) and going 100% mobile?

my backlog on steam games alone is 84, that number soars well into triple digits when you include all my games.
Why did I count all this, I am suddenly so depressed..
I haven't played it myself but the QL made it look like a simple game made harder by the optional goals.

It does but the demo is old and not a good reflection of the state the game is in now.
