Antoshka struck out of nowhere after his Hockey game (Field Hockey, not REAL hockey) and got me with the Guardian of the Galaxy bundle for Marvel Heroes. WOO! So hyped. Thanks so much. ROCKET RACCOON AND STAR-LORD WOOOOOO.
There is a field hockey game? (aka the only real hockey)
I misread that I think. I would really like a field hockey game to be a real thing.
I remember a while ago there was a shareware capture the flag game. Big fields and teams searching to find it. I think this was it. This needs to be updated rather than some shitty game mode in every damned FPS.
If that's the one I'm thinking of - and it looks very much like it - I lost many hours to that game. It looks primitive but it really is incredibly good.

That website looks like it's in the same timewarp as the Space Jam website.
I've never seen Space Jam. I've been informed that this makes me a terrible person, despite thinking that Big Trouble In Little China is the greatest movie of all time.

It mentions shareware yo. This is literally straight from the 90s.
I've never seen Space Jam. I've been informed that this makes me a terrible person, despite thinking that Big Trouble In Little China is the greatest movie of all time.
It's nostalgia more than anything to be honest. I hadn't seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit yet so seeing real people and the Looney Toons together was neat to my child mind. Michael Jordan? Eh sure whatever but cartoons!
Just when I thought it was safe to emerge from the birthday bomb shelter...
Thanks to @Orivon for Last Word, which looks like a fascinating bit of fun. I see it described in several places as very evocative of an Agatha Christie novel, so I'm quite intrigued! Thank you!
By the way, i had a out of fun on Friday night playing Mass Effect 3 with @chasm and @Jazz. Thanks a lot, gentlemen. Sadly @CorriganX decided that getting a character from 58 to 60 in Marvel Heroes was more important.
I've never seen Space Jam. I've been informed that this makes me a terrible person, despite thinking that Big Trouble In Little China is the greatest movie of all time.
Space Jam is actually a terrible movie. It's a bunch of disjointed scenes and ideas that are held together, ostensibly, by an plot so thin it couldn't even be stretched to fit an 89 minute running time. The animation has horrible digital shading, the vast majority of the jokes fall flat, and you can almost hear the committee meetings that required X and such to happen because Michael Jordan wanted it to happen.
That said, it is worth watching at least once, because of a certain celebrity cameo that I daren't spoil for you.
Do you guys ever have the Steam thread up and scroll down a little while you are maybe looking over your shoulder or something and when you look back it's like "Oh my gosh, I just received a gift" but nope it is someone's gift screenshot taken in just such a way that it looks just like a window popped up on your desktop? Or maybe that is just me.

Nope, I can say that I've never had that happen. Mostly because I have my task bar visible and can always see when there's another Steam window opened.

I really want to agree with this, but it doesn't have giant mind controlled alien robot amazons.

Having some Witcher issues: it wants to crash a lot, and in the Fields section of the game, when the sun is going down, it tints the whole screen blue. No other windows are effected by that last one, and if I leave the area it will go away, but it's annoying nonetheless.

That sale on Alien: Isolation at the Humble Store is pretty exciting, except I remembered it's a game finely crafted to make me not enjoy playing it. But it's on sale!

Kentucky Route Zero for the same price. Less overall gameplay (until the last two episodes come out) but a much more enjoyable experience for scaredy cats like me.

I loved this game. I've had designs for an updated real-time mobile version with some MOBA trappings scrawled on a whiteboard for weeks.
It's kind of crazy how many CTF video games don't have any sort of stealth involved. It's such an integral part of the real-world game.
So I went and was editing my Steam profile, nothing major, just re-organizing my four favorite game listings, when I notice that I had passed a Steam milestone and hadn't even realized it!
@Shade is now using card funds from games I have allegedaly gifted to him to send me retaliatory gifts.
I'm pretty sure this warrents more gifting, to keep current totals even. But no doubt Shade will disagree.
It's fair to say i'm a Big Fan of the Souls games. Big enough to have bought DS1 and 2 twice, and 100%ed them twice, plus SL1 runs etc. Lords of the Fallen is really trying to fill that same kind of niche but there are quite a few design decisions that make it not work well. There's only a very small window when most enemies are vulnerable after an attack, or after a stun, so that makes heavy weapons unusable since by the time your weapon starts to swing they've either got their shield back up or are attacking you and staggering you out of the animation. Enemies also don't stagger reliably, so that means even if you do get an attack off within that window you're probably going to get hit by their counterattack before you can bring your shield up or dodge. This means you will get hit, which means if you're not wearing heavy armor you're going to have a rough time of it. I started the game as a full-on rogue, and in addition to those problems above the rogue spells are complete garbage. I banged my head against the brick wall of it for a couple of hours, then started over as a Warrior with Cleric spells. This combination let me steamroll the entire game, beating every single boss except for the first one (because I had no good equipment or ability to level) and the last one in just one attempt. (The last boss took two).
I guess it was worth $20, but only barely. Wait for a pretty good sale, or just play Dark Souls instead.
@akajaybay gifted me both Wolfenstein Old Blood and Book of Unwritten tales from a glorious death in Steam Battle!
Thanks a bunch!

While I was saving the world again when nobody asked me (even though they did ask, and offered 8000 orens for my services, so there Dandelion), @Corsini snuck in and turned off all the lights. I rushed over to turn them back on, and was zapped by a copy of Gunpoint!

I fought for neutrality, discovered the culprit behind the theft of witcher secrets, and even denied the King of the Wild Hunt his prize. That was actually a really good ending. Past some of the wonkier mechanics and stiff acting, I can see why the game is well regarded. In many ways it makes me think of Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate, actually.
Now, hopefully the import can snag my stuff into the second one . . .
