Maybe it's the sleep deprivation taking, but this Mario maker episode is pretty dang funny.

We're finally here. Here's hoping they don't do a fast forward edit, or if they do that they GrumpOut the full fight.
Jesus Christ...I have to assume there is a gimmick to that like the pacifist equivalent. That's just... Whoa.
Nope! As far as I know, this Sans fight is 100% skill based and no gimmicks. He starts the fight off with that huge attack just to scare first comers off, but the rest of the fight is just as bad only sectioned off a little bit so you can manage health supplies. He also does poison (and is the only one to do poison?), so if you check the health bar it actually turns purple before turning red and the health meter that is purple will slowly drain over time unless healed.

The only gimmick to the fight is that the first half follows a very specific pattern so it's relatively easy to muscle memory it, but the second half gets pretty random.

One thing I love about the popularity of Undertale is the soundtrack remixes/covers that have come out.

I'd love to hear an orchestral arrangement for some of the tracks, but in the meantime we have a lot of individuals tackling it.

Admittedly, I'm a sucker for game soundtracks.

Edit: And credit where it's due, apparently the Megalovania theme is from an Earthbound hack from several years ago.

Quess who made that romhack? The same guy who made this game. Megalovania is a recurring song he puts in all his games.

Yeah no joke. Especially when you have to make up a voice and emotion for a sentence on the spot.

Others have expanded on this, but I'll go into more detail. Warning, this will probably spoil part of tomorrow's episode. So if you're watching, and not familiar with the fight, wait until then.
The Sans fight is a BIG middle finger to the player for what they've done to get that far. This goes beyond the swarm of attacks which you saw. In the episode, They got, bar none, the best weapon and armor in the game. However, the fight mechanics makes those two items pointless. Sans is the weakest enemy in the game (1 ATT, 1 DEF), and his attacks only do one point of damage at a time. However, these attacks ignore your invincibility frames. So getting hit for an instant will still take a good chunk of health. This renders your 99 DEF as pointless. Furthermore, Sans is the only enemy can can actually avoid your attacks, which he will do. This renders your 99 ATT stat pointless as well.

There are other nasty surprises in the fight, but I'll leave that as a surprise. The long and short of it is that Sans wasn't kidding when he said they were gonna have a bad time.

    It's basically
the boss fight for the geno players. And difficult as shit at that.

I suppose it makes up for many of the bosses being 1hit KOs.

Yeah Shovel Knight co-op is cool, but it's just a retread of the single player campaign that they played already on the show. Doing a controller pass with Plague Knight's would have made for a better series. They probably wanted to show off the Amiibo co-op though.

Yeah you just can't win that fight on items, peroid.

It only moves on when you fight, and most of the time if you need to heal anyway, you likely will lose it all in the next turn.

Pretty much you get to the spare, heal up, then its nerf or nuthin.
Also HOW THE FUCK DID THEY NOT GET DUNKED ON?
