SIM card question

DrezDrez Registered User regular
Nutshell:

iPhone 5S screen cracked, bought an iPhone 6, wiped the data, sent it to my uncle for repair, and gave it to my father.

When I got the 6, I got a new SIM card.

I never took the SIM card out of the 5S.

1. Can my father use my SIM card or does he need to get a new one from Verizon?
2. If he can use mine, is there any downside fir either me or him?

He's upgrading from a Blackberry Storm.

The SIM card as it stands will be linked to your Verizon line. Verizon *might* be able to transfer it over, but that's entirely up to them. Just give them a call and see what they say. That said, SIM cards are dirt cheap, so in the long run it might just be easier to get a new one. Verison may even just send him one free of charge. If not you are probably looking at charge between $5-20 so not too terrible anyways.
