Took mammoth to swamp. Knocked down trees and plants. Left with 200 rare flowers and over 100 rare mushrooms, plus almost a full stack of Species X seeds. Next time I'm on it'll be prime cooking time so I can reset myself in preparation for some new play style.
After reading up on taming times and kibble (it had just come out when I took my break), looks like I'll be on the hunt for turtle eggs. Time to tame a bigger bronto than what I have. Fun times!
Kelf of Caketown has brought a platform saddled Paracer to the caldera of the volcano with some smelters on it. He has been gracious enough to allow others to use it. I've tamed an Anky for Warboyz to use and left it up there. Feel free to use it to mine. Just bring some berries with you to feed it, and place some in the trough on Kelf's Paracer as well, to thank him.
It's a nice mining spot, much warmer and closer than the Blue Obelisk and a TON of ore now. I'll probably be bringing up a Warboyz Paracer as well to increase the smelting capacity this week.

So, as some may know, I have made a village of sorts, but the drwaback is that no one is using the houses I've made. So to anyone going nomad I extend an invitation to make the homes yours. Just let me know which one you want, and you can store things, put up crafting stations, pin lock the doors, whatever.
Just note that the 3 story square house is @Ed Gruberman's, since it was made on the bones of his old place.

Well, after a raptor tore through your house and ate you, I stored your things in a small, 2 story wooden house. When I upgraded my other areas and built an inn and barn, I renovated the place into a full 3 store and attic steepled house.
Should you come back, I consider you honorary mayor of World's End village.

Oooh, a club? Is that a melee weapon for taming things?
It seems more geared towards PvP with the low torpor it takes to knock out humans but it should be effective against some early dinos like dodos, dilos, phimoia and parasaurs if you can trap the latter two.

I always know when there's an Ark update because my PC goes from booting up in seconds due to SSD, to hanging on the desktop for 2 minutes because Ark is unpacking 10 gigabytes of data.
I just got back to my base after a couple of weeks away from the game, and a bunch of armor and my best blueprint are missing. My fridge is also empty, but it is possible that the few eggs and kibble I had simply rotted away.
This isn't a big deal, since I barely play the game at the moment, but I figured I should mention it.

That is disheartening. I had hoped we were free of thieves. Still a number of new people on these days who simply might not know the rules.

So is it in a house proper behind locked doors? Did the recent biome changes make a hole? If extra steps need to be taking we will.
Well if we need someone to vouch for non-forum survivors or some other system we will because everyone should know better. But yes as a precaution always leave doors closed and locked and valuables behind pin codes. Still sorry to hear this happened.
Edit: Spread the word on the server, a lot of players are willing to help you get back on your feet.
Edit 2: Oh yeah, my depot is now the only Warboyz settlement right near the Bat Cave so feel free to use if you're spelunking there. The second story needs the roof finished preferably with metal, should be plenty of cementing paste on one of the smithies. I may need to unpin the storage boxes upstairs but feel free to take anything from the boxes or bookshelves. There is also three fridges with meat, berries and eggs/kibble/food in that order. Not sure how long the generator will be stocked so best to check it out sooner rather than later.

You always remember the first one....wait I may be lying. Wet-Kiss was either chomped by a raptor or accidentally took an ax to the face when I was trying to free it from a tree.
My first was a Para, defended me from a spino, died to said spino, and got said spino stuck on rock geometry, which I then avenged it's death.
See, that's what makes me sad. I didn't lose him to the dangers of the island. I lost him to the dinosaur pathing algorithms not having any idea of how to deal with forests.
Just as a warning to anyone transporting dinos via Argent claw, I've lost two different Dilos now by landing without dropping them first. Seems like they've both just plain despawned, maybe because in the moment of landing, they were "under" the ground geography? I dunno. No death message in either case.

I'd like to see an achievement of "Not Endorsing Your Park" or "You Made It, Dr. Grant" with the descriptive text of "Made it off the ARK" or "Survived the ARK" or something like that.

I decided to just tame a dire wolf and elk in singleplayer and sure enough the achievement triggered--though I had to quit out of the game first.
I imagine what the achievement means by "initial species" is all the dinos available at release, or for early access all the dinos in the current build.
