I also am considering bringing Viticulture w/Tuscany. But I do not know how to play yet. Anyone willing to teach me?
I'm sure you'll find someone who knows how, or at least is happy to hang out with you and figure it out together! Stop by the info table and we can post a sign that you're looking for an experienced player.
Tick Tock, counting down to game night! The car is packed and we're heading downtown in about 30 minutes. For me, this event is the Official start of PAX. PAXmas Eve, if you will.
I can not attend PAX this year but I still may hit this up. It is great since I work in the building right across from the hotel on 6th (US Bank Centre)

I managed to play No Thanks, Kakerlarken Poker and Climbers with some unsuspecting attendees and I'm happy to say they enjoyed the latter two despite their lack of presence in the US I also played Resistance where upon I was thrown under a bus by an old friend. I really am very bad at that game.
Thanks everybody, for coming out! I hope everyone had a good time. That game of JS Joust was epic.

1. This year's "That Guy" is Nick, who left two games at the event and couldn't be reached at midnight. Nick, I have your games. Please contact me to get them back. I have them in Ballard.
2. Also, just a note that a lot of people heard me explaining last night: Nobody comes to this event to get free games to keep. I have never, ever in my years of hosting this, ever successfully talked someone into taking home even one of the games that people sometimes "donate" to the event. I end up having to take them home and spend extra time donating/delivering/whatever the games. So whoever donated that Game of Life last night, it went into the trash after trying my best to give it away.
Around 500ish. It was full up from 8-11pm, but we didn't have to turn anybody away which was great. I left at 12:30 am and there were still about 50-75 folks playing.
In case anyone's still following this thread post-con: We seem to have run into another issue regarding the Pre-PAX board game thing last Thursday. The copy of Epic Spell Wars 2 Lexi handed me from the game library actually wasn't my copy, since I was contacted by the person who was holding onto it yesterday trying to get a hold of me to return it. I met up with the fellow a few minutes ago and received my own back, but he told me the copy I got from you wasn't his, either, so I'm guessing what happened was that the two games got mixed up somehow while being returned. Point being, I now have two copies of Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards: Rumble at Castle Tentakill.
If someone here also brought said game with them to the Sheraton, and it didn't return home with them, let me know. We might be able to arrange for transport or shipping.
@LexiconGrrl - Thank you so much for coordinating this event year after year even though this one seemed like it might have gotten a little tricky. The fact that the Sheraton bent over backwards to get us enough space to play really speaks to a) your professionalism in dealing with them; and b) them making at least enough money from us to make it worth it. Paxmas Eve, indeed.

There was actually no one else who registered that game with the desk, so I can't tell who it belonged to... Hopefully they check in on the thread here.

That would probably be my copy! it was on my list of loaned games and wasn't in my chest when I returned home
Lexi's group can confirm it was on my list if they didn't return the list to me LOL
(stupid papers didnt' stay in the boxes as planned)
You two were the only ones who had ESW, so I'm sure it's @solelron's copy.
Good lesson learned: tape or write your contact info into the box so it can't disappear.
So how do you guys want to get the game back to Solelron? @ReploidArmada, can you PM him and arrange to mail it? I'm assuming at least one of you isn't near Seattle.
Happily on Sabbatical. Don't bug me.

Thank you again for organizing, @LexiconGrrl - was a good time.
For marking your games, we put business cards in clear self adhesive card holders in the lids. That way if we get rid of the game, the worst thing is a clear, plastic business card slot. It is handy for events like this and when you have similar collections to the people you play with often.

We actually had planned this, and most of our games have our At home contact information in them (which doesn't do much good during a distance con).
Unfortunately, with 3 cons in 4 weeks, things got sacrificed. Luckily we are getting our game back.
Thanks for the you guys. Yeah, this year was a little more stressful than others but it's worth it to keep this event as-is. It's super important that this remain an all ages event that is free to play. There's already a whole slew of pre-PAX events that night that restrict by age or budget or both, and IMO, inclusive events like this are what PAX is all about. Everyone is welcome and everybody can come.
