Highlights include (other than overtime mode and mist champions) archers prioritizing guards, Trebs removing all stab stacks on impact (and still knocking everything down). Supply piles now have limit and refresh timer (2 supply per stack, 15 second refresh time.) and dying in enemy stronghold makes you drop supply, even if you had none.

Mini Grawl Berserker makes ooks when it moves.
Mini Mosquito buzzes.
Mini Toxic Hybrid does a little idle animation where he does an attack and 'growls'.
Mini Twisted Mender has helicopter blade passive noises, and will occasionally fall apart and reform itself with metal clanks.
Mini Twisted Nightmare makes metal noises when moving, and does its transform sequence when idle, with metal clanks.
Basically all the Twisted ones have some sound effects added.
Mini Ellen Kiel actually does seem to sometimes say "Time to lay down the law." I did not know that until investigating this; it seems to be a very rare idle animation. Apparently Evon Gnashblade will also occasionally say "I was the favourite." So I was wrong about no minis talking.
Looks like someone already got ya. To accept the invite, hit G to bring up your guild interface, then look for NICE on the left hand side and hit Accept at the bottom. Then hit Represent to actually see guild chat and get the guild bonuses. You can switch between which guild you're Representing at any time, but until the expansion hits you'll only be able to see chat for the guild you're repping at that moment. There's lot of new guild features, including Guild Halls, coming in the expac, so look for lots to do with us then.
I'll assume you can point your friends to this thread and/or tell them what they need to know. Welcome to NICE!

Excellent- think I'll see about getting mini Gnashblade. Thanks!

mini ellen kiel.
Remember when the vote was going to change the game?
Ellen kiel forever. Screw E.
Chief Wiggum: "Ladies, please. All our founding fathers, astronauts, and World Series heroes have been either drunk or on cocaine."
Ellen got us new Lion's Arch. Instead of nautical stuff, Evon would have made Black Lion Land with costly beverages and statues of his likeness everywhere.
The way that players gather supply at the depot in the center of the map has changed.
Each supply pile only has a maximum of 2 supply in it at any given time.
Supply piles will replenish their stores after 15 seconds.
Trebuchets will now do increased damage to Door Breakers and Archers
Trebuchets shots will now remove up to 25 stacks of stability from any targets they hit prior to knocking them down.
@Draygo Sounds like Team ArenaNet doesn't want us to beat them again....RIP supply portal rush.

Let the Revening start, baby !
I can see their dilemna, tho. How to make the Revener distinctly different from the Warrior and Paladin ?

So far, it looks like the distinction between Revs and Guards is that Revs are better at pulsing stab and blocking projectiles than Guards are :P
Seriously, did just the did thresher VW boss and between the pulsing stab from Jalis and anti-projectile bubble from Ventari, everyone was able to burst down the thresher without ever having to worry about whirling projectile or the AoE fear he does between whirls. Easiest attempt I did that didn't involve stacking broken Symbolic Avenger.
Won't be online for a few hours yet, but wanting to go try revenant...
Are they letting you start one right at 80?
After creation you're 80 with a full set of exotic armor with dolyak runes and an exotic hammer with two sigils or whatever the weapon ones are called in it.
You get a box with a lot of max level runes in it to use with three boxes of exotic equipment netting you three full sets of level 80 exotic gear to play around with. The three exotic boxes come with weapons and jewelry too.
+1

Your Revenant starts at 80 with a Hammer but the boxes in your backpack contain every weapon type, so open those first.
I think I would of preferred an option to start a revenant at level 1-20. Probably spent the first 15 minutes just reading skill and trait descriptions.
I think I would of preferred an option to start a revenant at level 1-20. Probably spent the first 15 minutes just reading skill and trait descriptions.
I think an additional box with 80 level up tomes would have been the best route so you could do, basically, whatever at whatever level.
Want to learn as you play and level up in PvE? Go for it. Want to start PvE at 80? Go for it. Want to PvP and apparently piss off every person PvPing as non-revenant? Go for it.
It still looks like a, possibly massive, work in progress but I liked what I screwed around with for twenty minutes or so with the Revenant.
As potentially old news for everyone else, if you pre-ordered your new character slot should have shown up recently as well. I can't remember if it's been one, two, or three days since my last log in before today but my beta slot and additional slot from pre-ordering were there today when I logged in to check out the Revenant.

My extra slot appeared the moment the pre-order purchase went thru.

Huh, when did you pre-order? I pre-ordered right after reading the "here's a free slot for people since there was an uproar about it."
I got the beta slot the moment my pre-order went through but the pre-order regular character slot didn't go live until very recently. Like I said earlier, can't remember if I logged in yesterday or not for the daily gift, but it was very recently, like last three days for me before I had both, not just the slot with the giant beta bumper sticker.

So, FYI in case you didn't know; beta characters use a copy of your wallet and bank. Anything and everything you spend or take out (or earn or put in...) will not change what your non-beta characters have. So if you want to use any of those ascended rings or trans charges or skins or makeover kits or whatever to tweak out your Revenant, go ahead! and don't worry about having to put them back before the weekend ends either.
I saw this on the official forums and thought it was amusing, especially the first one:
People in PvE being as anti-Rev as they were in PvP yesterday, or is that just an outlier?
While I was messing around with the Rev for a short amount of time there was a lot of whining about Rev sucking at everything. Also a lot of whining about Revs ruining games since no one knew how to play the class, with winning boiled down to who had the fewest Revs. Was amusing to see all the complaining being an actual hive mind when I skimmed chat rather than a million people trolling in different ways.

I haven't seen any of those "no Rev" LFG posts when I was looking to run dungeons, I just found it hilarious that there was apparently a lfg group that was okay with a Necro -considered the bottom rung for dungeon play- but drew the line at Revenant.
As for all the whining, the general, oft-repeated criticisms I've seen about Revenant are as follows:
-Damage is too low, particularity for Staff and Hammer (with the oft-forgotten caveat that Rev is still missing it's dps specialization/legend/weapon set... though if Hammer is going to be the only ranged weapon for Revs, that is a concern)
-Several skills have too long of a cast time. Mace 2, Hammer 3&5 and Jalis Elite are considered the greatest offenders.
-Other than Jalis elite, no stunbreak unless you specialize in Invocation
-Most traits are weak and/or small changes, to the point that, outside of a few options, it can feel like your choices don't matter.
-No sustainable swiftness/IMS trait (Guardians, you are not alone anymore!)
-Unyielding Anguish is good only for trolling other players and breaking content when creatures that shouldn't be movable are moved.
-Mallyx in general is not the better-at-condi-manipulation-than-Necros legend that Necromancers were afraid it would be. In fact, it's not even close. Very difficult to generate enough self-inflicted conditions in most of PvE to improve the skills without running out of energy, very easy to condi overload yourself once the resistance wears off because of it.
Those don't include any pvp-focused complaints (not sure if 3 days is enough to separate all the learning pains with real problems with that game mode) bugs (like how you can't turn on upkeep skills unless you're first in combat, or Vengeful Hammers will turn itself off if you get too close to walls/etc) and frequent missing-the-point complaints (like people complaining Mace/Axe does terrible damage when running full zerk)
Otherwise, the general praises I've seen are that Ventari delivers on nearly all it's promises of support, Mace/Axe and Jalis are solid outside of a few tweaks, and all the animations are super pretty.

Having spent hours today with Revenant in PvP with a variety of builds, I would say that pretty much every bulleted complaint is valid. It's super useless at trying to kill other players, or even countering what skills other professions have - even its great sustain with Ventari is shut down pretty fast by some CC. That said, trying to sustain with Ventari means generally giving up on putting any pressure on the enemy, anyways...I dunno. Revenants have issues.

Honestly, even as a Necro main I found Revenants near hopeless in both PVE and PVP, and that's saying something.
On a related note, holy cow at how broken Guardians are in SPVP. I don't understand how ANet thinks it is okay for a class to have good direct damage, good conditions, good access to stability, and incredible longevity all at the same time.

No they made it stronger. Now we can deplete both piles so the enemy team cant use them.

Not really sure how that would work.
We can't stop them from getting supply for more than 15 seconds unless we camp it and fight there constantly, which I guess is a goal of the new system but sounds like no fun at all to me.
I guess the best case scenario is something like this: we do our portal thing, send 2 people to each pile to channel, while the fifth person acts as I guess a defender/distraction, then we all portal back and spawn our guys as usual. Then we send 2 to offense and 2 to defense, plus 1 to the enemy treb to take it out before they wreck our entire assault force.
