Tanaan is really fun so far, but there's a LOT to do, so it's very alt unfriendly.
Yeah, I'm doing fine on my raid geared pally (other than Saberon, that grind really sucks), but I fear what it will be like for my poor cooped up alts who have not seen the outside of a garrison for months now.
Welp. Chatting with my guildies and such today has convinced me that I'm pretty much done with WoW. The random crazy ass changes made to all sorts of things just pretty much killed the little fun I was having with it. Oh well. Maybe they'll change some other stuff and it will be fun again in the next expac. I guess we'll see.
What tipped you over the edge?
I haven't enjoyed this expansion at all. We raid once a week but aren't having much fun outside of that. The new content seems a little bit better than what they had before but there's really nothing outside of raids keeping us subbed. Don't know if we'll manage to even get 10 people anyway but reports from HFC sounds like there's a bigger step up from normal to heroic this time than BRF which is bound to cause people to bow out of the group as we'd have to field pugs. The pugs we got for BRF heroic were awful even on the easier bosses like Gruul.
Pretty much that right there.
Flying isn't in, so I don't have that to occupy myself with. Garrisons were boring a long time ago, but I still putz about with the missions because of the gold income, which is pretty heavily nerfed now, especially if you have more than one character able to get the gold missions (as a note, any character with a garrison can have the missions show up for them, but may not see them due to low follower ilvl or whatnot, so if you want to maximize this income, either delete lowbie characters or power them through the follower leveling so you don't miss out). I still have to finish the legendary ring quest, but that didn't really grip me previously, and it still isn't even now with the whole ring being available. I haven't bothered with the garrison campaign stuff, it's just "go to zone and fill a bar with murdering shit" and that's pretty boring (I've done three of them so far I think, but not sure). Mythic dungeons maybe might be entertaining, but I mean.. that's some hardcore effort for LFR gear. Does it even look good? Who knows, I haven't checked it out.
I just feel bored with the game, since there was -nothing- to do within a week of hitting 100. I leveled up a few extra characters to 100 (monk, rogue, hunter, warrior, working on a paladin, priest, and mage). I've got all the pre-reqs for the flying meta minus the rep achievement, so I've pretty much done -everything- that's on offer, and it's been like that for a couple months at least. I really don't feel like grinding rep just to get an achievement that -still- doesn't do anything other than give me more epeen points at this juncture.
oh, it makes sense that people would farm normal for set bonuses I guess
we finished up iskar tonight, that fight was fun
We had a little trouble getting used to throwing the orb around, but not nearly as chaotic as it looks on paper. A healer with an interrupt (for example, me) can hold it for a good while.
Download that from curse. It trivializes the orb by giving you a list of your raid team, marking who has it and who needs it and then you just click the name of the person you want to throw it to.
Much easier than making mouse over macros and reorganizing your raid frames.
Also set bonuses would have been nice. But we only got one hunter their 2pc out of all of those bosses.
Too shy to try? It won't throw you into a real raid immediately no matter what.
In my experience, assuming we're talking about the "raid" button in the new Adventure Journal, the button will point you at LFR. Ironically LFR is not enabled this week so it is a button that dead-ends real quick. However the results may vary with gear. It also suggested that I do "Mythic Blackrock Furnace" with a different character on one of the tabs which means it is actively looking at your gear and attempting to point you to a good raiding choice.
Hilarious that it thinks that just slapping together a Mythic group would be something feasible but I suppose it's really supposed to be more of a guide line...

Clicking those buttons will just open up the group finder on a specific tab depending on your ilvl and/or progression, it is really just pointless nonsense.
I'm really disliking the fact that the guy who's giving the "fight in 2 hotspots" daily doesn't seem to have it until after I come back to the hub to turn in the "assault on whatever" quest I picked up

The random garrison trader shit is the most infuriating design decision.

Let me purchase my fucking crafting patterns.
Leatherworking right? Wasn't fur yesterday?
Fur was yesterday, yes. Leathworking should be today according to the schedule but all my of my characters have the quest giver instead of the trader, and the halfdozen people in guild that I've asked also happen to have the quest giver and not the trader.

Is there nobody in LFG with the trader? In my experience there's almost always been somebody with the relevant garrison NPC (trader/harrison/erris/whatever) hosting an auto-invite group.

Check the looking for group tool there is nearly always somebody sitting on that days trader with auto groups enabled so you just send a request it auto accepts you zone into their garrison do your thang and leave.

Just use the LFG tool's "Other raids" or whatever button. There's usually groups being run by dudes that have the whole shebang in their garrison, so you'll have the trader, a storehouse, an auction house, and the appropriate building if you need that, too. And if the guy is cool, he'll have the mage tower with the portal pads setup so you can zip straight up to the trader from the entrance of the garrison.
Edit - The LFG tool is really great for finding shit that you want to do, I'm honestly surprised it works so well with Blizzard's recent record of fucking things up so badly they turn sideways.

God yeah, that pissed me off last night when I came back after clearing multiple areas to get the "kill X of Y type of enemy" daily quests done to find out I should have come back to drop of the quest before continuing with clearing areas.

Did Supreme Lord Kazzak and he dropped the Mark of Supreme Doom.
It's terrible, but I'm going to keep it in my bags just in case Blizzard buffs it.
In better loot news, I did get a Medallion of the Burning Legion. Which I promptly put on the AH because it's worth about a month of game time right now.
oh h*ck

I was actually pretty surprised how non-INT classes get shafted on Kazzak's Trinket. AGI/STR gets triple Tertiaries while INT classes get a trinket with: 187 Intellect, 187 Mastery, 187 Critical Strike, 187 Haste, 187 Multistrike.
It's not the best trinket in the world, but one of these is clearly much better than the other.
Edit: Sorry, the int trinket also has 187 Versatility on it too.
Oh dang, I forgot to do Ahune the last two days. I'll have to remember that since the cloak will be an upgrade, probably the first time ever I'd have been able to get an upgrade from that boss.

Question for folks that ran through Heroic this week: is Hellfire High Council supposed to be a 10 minute fight?
Of all the fights we ended up doing this week (struggled a while on Hellfire Assault with getting priorities down, wiped a bit on Reaver before everything clicked and people got used to her abilities, 3 shot Council, and got Kormrok to 15% after 2-3 pulls), Council felt the strangest. We hit the enrage on one of the wipes, but for all of our 3 attempts it took us to kill it, the fight never seemed hard, nor did it feel super long. But then I looked at the fight duration and were wondering where the hell those 10 minutes went.
Our kill was literally just me alive at about 20k HP, and our two tanks. It was a close one

Oh, are you supposed to whittle down Blademaster and Dia at roughly the same rate until Blademaster's good to push? We just went from one to the other, with only my Boomkin AOE being the raid's cleave.

That might explain it.
What? A fight with lots of cleave needed? My monk's body is ready.
So as a PSA, mail deletes after 30 days and does not auto return anymore. Also, the Return Mail button has been removed in the latest patch. Be careful if you are using your mailbox as extra storage space.
Our council kill was piss easy. It felt incredibly undertuned compared to stuff like Kormrok and Gorefiend, the latter of which is probably gonna trip up a few guilds. We literally had one death the whole fight (it was a one shot) because he ran to get his pizza and stood in the purple dude like 5 times in a row.
And yeah, the sub 30% abilities stick around after they die. You kill one dude straight away to keep his health reduce thing low and then get the others close before killing one then the other.

Nope, it seems like we'll be able to fly there as well, as it should have been on Thundering and Timeless Isles.

That and wouldn't they need to have downloaded a patch that isn't released yet?
Well, that or somehow "convince" the client and/or the server that they are allowed to fly in Draenor zones.
