For those that don't want to wait for an identification in-comic:
    Wikipedia wrote:
In the Dungeons & Dragons game, displacer beasts are fierce and vicious, and hate all other creatures. These sentient, magical cats often kill purely for pleasure, though they never fight among themselves. This beast uses a magical displacement ability, a form of illusion which causes it to appear to be a few feet away from where it actually is. This makes the creature hard to hit, while it attacks with its long tentacles.

A displacer beast is considered to be a "magical beast". In the game, it resembles a black puma with a pair of powerful black tentacles sprouting from its shoulders, and two to four additional forelimbs. They are colored blue-black, like a dark panther. The tentacles are tipped with horny edges which can inflict terrible wounds and resemble the club-shaped catching tentacles of a squid.
    Alignment

In the first edition AD&D Monster Manual, the displacer beast is listed as "neutral" in alignment. Displacer beasts are described as "Lawful Evil" in most editions of Dungeons and Dragons. In 4th Edition, which lacks that alignment, they're described as "Unaligned."

    Ha!
I figured it would be a displacer. Fun fact: early editions actually go out of their way to describe blink dogs and displacer beats as enemies. An old Book of Ratings made fun of that.

Right, but she moved on to a thing that would kill (well, wouldn't because of safety features but) her!

Like for all you know you have an immunity to like... paralytic effects, but not being fatally electrocuted.

There's no reason to step it up that fast! You can slowly and precisely outline the limits of your abilities in a way that doesn't risk permanent injury.

She's probably counting that time she got struck by lightning. If that didn't do anything bad to her, the fatal jolt line's probably already been crossed.

Besides, how often do comic characters subject their new powers to any kind of rigorous scientific testing? She's at least shown herself more careful than Spider-Man, who goes from Oh no spider bite to Wow I have powers to Lets make some money off this to Oh no Uncle Ben without ever checking to see if he's also dying or anything.

Through one direction of relocation or the other, I think he's about to die from severe blood-loss to the brain.
