The planeswalker spark naturally makes you incorruptible by Phyresis or whatever it's called. Karn's spark was gone when he was on Mirrodin, for reasons I can't recall. At the end of Scars block, Venser teleported his spark into Karn to cure him at the cost of his own life. By regaining a spark, he was cured of the corruption.

I dunno, if it was such a big deal that Spark > Phyrexian corruption, such that Venser died saving Karn at the climax of a storyline, it seems more likely that they'd stay away from a Phyrexian walker. Moreso anyway than if the basis was just Doug Beyer mentioning it in a blog post or something.

The WOTC mods are notoriously twitchy (rimshot). Of course, it's often with good reason. The behavior of chat during the wedding side feature was gross
