Lizzy takes a seat at the bar. She doesn't drink, something Jason knows, but it's more of a friendly juster that she holds the glass. "Sorry, tonight has been crazy. And sorry that I assumed you'd been lazy. I think I might have gotten Chantalle in trouble. And now I owe her new boss double. But I didn't wish for some fat cow to take over my life. But now he's got both of us over a knife." Lizzy spun her finger around the rim of the glass. "I remember when I was a kid, we were all about anarchy. It was part the music, the scene, the heart of our malarkey. Then we'd go home, wake up and flip burgers for minimal wage. But it wasn't until tonight I understood the rat in the cage. No where to go but where they want you to. And you can't refused to do what they want you to do. My future, and Chantalle's, now rides with me and..." Lizzy listens to the soft music for a second. "... and I'm not sure I can do this while being me. I'm over my head and now pretty much dead." The drummer holds the glass up, looking at the way the liquid moves around the glass. "I need a new perspective. I need... the detective." Lizzy slammed the drink down and roughly kissed Jason's check. "If anyone can find a hole in their Masquerade it would be the one who wears their mask. He's the most likely too to help with this task." And with that, Lizzy rushed out of the bar and to the nearest payphone. A quick look at the yellow pages and two bus stops later, Lizzy was outside Jack's building.

I'm going to assume that since it's taken me so long to do the bar scene and Jack's done looked up contacts, nearly killed a junkie, and gotten back to his place that there is enough time to past for me to have done my shit and reached him.

I thank Isaiah for the information and I decide that I should probably rush over and find something tasty.

It only takes a half hour or so to find my way to the location he mentioned. It's dark and quiet out, so no one bothers me. The frat kids have already passed out or slipped off for some quiet time.

A smallish kine greets me as I turn down the alley, "Ahh, young Damien. I was told you may be stopping by tonight. Please come on in, we have a couple vessels still about and I think more than one or two would find you particularly interesting. I'm Heath by the way."

I nod and follow Heath inside the closed up night club. The faded signs read "Empress Grape." The interior is warmly lit and comfortably furnished. A group of academics (two younger women and three older men) laze about on couches drinking wine, smoking cloves, and debating differing philosophies of various Asian beliefs. I'm not clear on what particular dogma is the crux of the discussion. Heath escorts me over and introduces me.

"This is Damien, he's just joined our little debate club tonight. Please be kind to him until he finds his footing and place."

With that Heath goes back to the door and I take a seat on one of the comfortable couches.

GG, you should put all Lizzy's lines in couplet form so we can read them in verse, imo.

Also, I think Roland's done for the evening, he's gonna go home and read or something till morning, but I don't feel like it needs to be roleplayed out.

Lizzy waited a few moments outside the detective's place. She was about to start playing a deadly game, one she didn't have to play, and if she made one wrong move, it wasn't just her life on the line. However, if Lizzy had learned anything from those with power, if no one can hurt them they don't have to play by the rules, as one of Lizzy's scars on her side reminded her when a policeman beat the hell out of her and her friends in Detroit. The drummer crossed the street and decided to try the fire escape, if anything to scout ahead. Besides, the music seem to agree, strumming out a stranger version of the James Bond theme.

I'm going to use Dexterity (3) + Stealth (3) to sneak up the fire escape and peek into Jack's window. Once I'm up there, I will use Obfuscate to stay hidden until she's ready to reveal herself. Again, not sure what the challenge is with Jack's sire still around but I'm going to roll and we'll see what happens.

Edit: I think I'm sneaky enough...

@Grunt's Ghosts You slip up the fire escape, keeping to the shadows cast by the railing under a blinking street light. Your footsteps barely ring against the metal grating and stairsteps. On the third floor you think you have found it - Jack's office. The lights are out and it is completely dark inside. Clearly, Jack isn't in right now. You're just about to make a decision when you see the lights from the hallway trace across the floor as the door opens. You reflexively obfuscate yourself from view as the figure darkening the doorway step in. From the silhouette you can tell this person is female, and by the Beast snarling in your heart you know she is Kindred. Whoever she is, she doesn't seem to notice you outside on the landing. She approaches Jack's desk and leans over to turn the lamp sitting there on - immediately you accidentally , presumably, see up the loose-fitting sweater that hangs off her shoulders to full view of her buxom endowments.

You stop yourself from making a sound and turn away quickly from embarassment. Hearing footsteps you turn back to see her shapely backside as she enters what you guess is a bathrom. You hear a faucet turn on when you lose sight of her inside.

    What do you do?

@Grunt's Ghosts She is a dark-skinned, raven haired woman with deep brown eyes. It's difficult to pair down her ethnicity, though. Peering around the corner, you see she is slipping off her pants and tossing them in a wade on the floor. Removing her bug-eyed sunglasses she had on she tossles her hair a little in the mirror, giving herself a mock-pouty seductive look. Now she appears to be ... flossing her fangs now?

Leaving the restroom you nearly startle as she comes right up to the window your outside and opens it. Thankfully she still didn't notice you so you suspect she doesn't have the power to pierce your viel. She takes a seat at the desk, kicking up her bare feet and reaching for a tabloid she had brought in with her.

Because one mad poet Malk in a single night wasn’t enough? I kept that thought to myself though, and tried to sympathize.

“Fair enough. Even if they aren’t actually Vatican, any hunters in Redmond are bad news as far as I’m concerned. And yeah, I’ve heard of the Mad Poet. Never met him, but as far as I know I’ve never been crosswise with him or the rest of the resistance leadership out here.”

“If we’re going for a visit though, I hope you know where he is because I certainly don’t.”

Sorry for the long delay in posting today it's been... let's just say hectic and leave it at that.

To be honest, I think Lizzy is going to wait it out. OOC I know this is before Jack shows up, but IC Lizzy doesn't know who this is and considering that she's trying to find a way around the Prince's Boons, or at least find a way to fuck with him, it's better that she doesn't get too many people involved. So she'll wait and see what this woman is about, maybe get some idea on the kind of play Jack is on, and then make her move.

@shdwcaster "We?" she says with disbelief. She tosses the cigarette out the window and puts her keys in the ignition. "There's no we. You wanted a lead, I gave you one. You're on your own from here."

He's a handsome black man with a shaved clean head, black slacks, white shirt and a classy tie. He moves to join you on the couch.

Quietly I answer his question so the others can't overhear, "I think we both know why a child is here tonight, don't we Charles. You have something I need. You want me to take it."

I make a move to get the attention of the others, "I think I'm done for the evening everyone. Charles here has offered to escort me back home. Thank you for the lovely and spirited conversation. I hope next time I can arrive early enough to get in at the beginning before all the good talking points have been stolen. Yes, Harold, I'm talking about you."

With that Charles and I leave the academic hideaway and begin heading back towards the Chantry. I don't want him to know where it at, or if he does already I don't want to reinforce it. At the first convienent ally we pass I steer him into the darkend area.

Maybe time with Chantalle had changed Lizzy's sexual preference, or maybe she always liked girls, but for whatever reason, and against her own will it would seem, Lizzy decided to chat with the sexy Kindred before her.

@Grunt's Ghosts "Oh, you startled me," she says with faux-start and faux-embarassment, turning to look at the source of the noise. She lays the magazine against her thighs to mock-cover herself. As she eyes you over, a sensual smile creeps over her lips and comes to sit with you on the window sill, leaving the magazine on the floor. When she speaks with an attractive accent and a slight lilt you eat it up.

"Antoinette Beaumont. I am a friend of Jack's. May I know your name, voyuer?

"I didn't mean to startle anyone especially not one like you,
I'm Lizzy Hell, a name known by few."

Lizzy took a seat in the chair across from Antoinette.

"Well, that should be changing shortly, depending on the speed of gossip.
But that's another conversation, nothing of value to such a pin-up.
Jack and I have been recruited by the Prince for a job tomorrow night,
and except for him and I, I doubt anyone else has been in a real fight.
So I thought I might talk to him and see what his thoughts are
and the maybe see what he knows of the job so far."

Lizzy tried to keep her eyes away from Antoinette's body, but it was impossible. From her curves, to her eyes, and those lips, everything in the young vampire's body begged to feel them.

"So, flossing? Is that something we should still be doing?" Lizzy tried to break up her feelings with small talk.
"Because I thought our teeth had stopped with the decaying."

I started to argue with her, then closed my mouth. Like the lady had said, I did actually need to be getting home in the next few hours. If I was lucky, Elianna would be back and we could chat about possibilities of meeting with the Mad Poet.

I took the long way home. The Ducati sang its song along the back roads around Lake Samm, and I reflected a bit on the events of the night. I hadn’t gotten in a fight, and I don’t think I’d embarrassed myself in front of the Prince. Information wise though, all I really had was confirmation that there were, in fact, hunters in Redmond, which clearly the tower already knew. That the Anarch leadership also was aware of them wasn’t too surprising either, but maybe there was something there I could use.

I leaned into a hard right turn, leaned the Duc over, and fed her a bit more throttle on exit. The engine sang a little louder as I started the route back to my Haven, drowning out the thoughts whirling in my head of what I had to finish preparing before the night was done, and what I’d have to do tomorrow night. The cold air of the early Northwest fall whipped through my hair, and I lost myself in the perfect fusion of rider and machine for the rest of the trip home.

I think this'll close out my scene, unless, @Mikey CTS, you want for Elianna to be home and she can talk to Kris about Arthur Dent or something.

Antoinette picks up a letter opener from the table and slices herself just above her clavical line with a wince. The deep red ichor spills from the open wound, trailing down her shoulder to the cleft of Antoinette's breasts.

@dresdenphile "Oh really," Antoinette muses. "Tell me more about this Malkavian, hmm? We've still a little time before dawn."

The music suddenly got harsh, like when Chantalle talked about her attack in New Orleans, but worst.

"Tempting as you are, I know what drinking of your blood would do to me.
I might be young, but I am far from naive.
I hardly know you, and to be bound to you, even slightly, would be a mistake."

    Lizzy stood up and smiled.

"But I thank you for the offer, but it's getting late.
Tell Jack I came by and I'll speak with him another time.
Good Evening, Ms. Beaumont, sweet temptation of mine."

With Lizzy knowing Chantalle's story of Diablerie and how bad it is, Lizzy should refuse this. Not that she isn't attracted to Beaumont, but there are lines Lizzy isn't ready to cross, and Blood Bonds are high on that list.

Nestled between the northern shore of Lake Sammamish and SR-520, the route that would typically be clogged with heavy traffic during rush hour at this time of night is thankfully less congested. As you enter the city limits you pass the welcoming sign announcing you've arrived in Redmond, Bicycle Capital of the Northwest, with an old-timey bicycle prominently mounted on atop. In contrast to Seattle, which is largely concrete and glass, Remond is mostly greenery and suburbs surrounding a large town centre against the dockyards. The community is settled between a rolling hillside that slopes downward into the waterfront. The Sammamish River that runs north of the city craddles the entire settlement against it's lakeside namesake.

Roland, Lizzy, Damien, and Jack all roll up at the safehouse the Camarilla has provided. Located in an isolated lakeside area that is likely outside of the city limits proper, the home is propped against a sloped hill with stilts and a partial exposed basement. The sounds of hooting owls and the chorus of crickets create a unsettling ambiance with the sealed windows. You can see the lights of Remond dockyards glitter against water on the opposite shore. The log cabin facade opens to a warm living room, a kitchen with ammenities that haven't been updated since the 70s, a dining room that open with sliding doors to a large raised deck patio, and a stairwell up to the bedrooms. The basement is cluttered with a large variety of tools and a chair, much of which is stained with crusted blood. All the windows are blacked out and boarded from the outside. Shortly after you've begun to settle in Kris arrives and you begin to discuss your plans around the living room.

What you know so far: the hunters are located somewhere in the greater Redmond area; Sheriff White informed Roland there is a site of a "stake and wake" somewhere off the Pudget Power trail, a popular hiking, biking and equestrian path that run along the Sammamish River's north shores; and, thanks to Kris's encounter with the mysterious young woman known as xfangx, the Anarch known as the Mad Poet or more colloquailly Arthur Dent may have information regarding the location of the hunters.

    What do you do?

Everyone reduce your Blood Pool by one for waking at the start of a new night.

You all got an additional 1 EXP for the solo scenes.

@Delmain specifically what the Sheriff provided you with is a set of military-style coordinates to where the incident occured, which supposedly lies near the Pudget Power pathway. Actually finding the spot will require a topological map, a compass, and some Survival ability.

The rocker looked around the room, trying not to look at Jack. Last night still left a strange mess of notes and thoughts swirling in a head that didn't need anymore swirling. Time to get to business. Not that Lizzy had done this before...

"We aren't exactly the best group to be going out hunting.
But it's never a good idea to go in blindly when you're fighting."

Lizzy took a map of Redmond and placed it on the table.

"We should scout ahead, see if we can spot these hunters before going in.
I believe Jack is qualified as a sleuth to find were we will begin.
I can come with you, I am pretty sneaky in my own right.
And I've seen a few dozen or so fights.
We should go down this Power trail
And see what secrets we can find and use to prevail."

Nah, you can have a map or atlas. Those used to be something everyone had to have in their household before the arrival of GPS. The topolical map, well, you'll need to go find. I give the kid a quick grin as he admits what everyone in the room was thinking. “I think I’ve got just the thing for you, actually. Provided you know which end of the gun goes bang and which end doesn’t.”

I pause for a moment, then look over at Roland, since he seems to be the boss of this operation. “Is heading down the trail to try and find these guys really our best starting approach though? It seems like there’s enough of us here who aren’t bound to the Camarilla that we might be able to get a meeting with the Mad Poet and see what the Anarch leadership might know. Hunters are just as much a threat to them, maybe more, and it might even be worth it to show that Seattle’s Prince is willing to be magnanimous to the Anarch community by helping remove a mutual threat.

Two birds, one stone, all that?”

This place isn't well-defended. Nice and remote, but really open once you're here. It'll be a good base as long as we aren't detected and traced back here.

At Damien's blunt point I almost blurt out, Well maybe you should get in a fight then...

I catch myself though, almost replying to Damien out loud. I settle with just voicing it to myself and try to maintain a polite facade while the Malkavian continues speaking.

"I doubt that map will help. The Sheriff provided topographical coordinates and I doubt the map you've got will have those. I'm sure there are a few places around here we can get one. It's been a while, but I used to be able to read them, too."

Oh god, so busy at work, I started this post as a reply to the 11:14AM post and it's just taken 3 hours to be able to post it.

I have some Survival, so it might take me a while but I can probably decipher the map
