still wondering what happened to clay. it felt like a waste in the campaign:
that they just threw the carmine name out there. yeah everything was a callback in this game, but in the others the carmine in question was more prominent. this was literally just a name
still, I'd appreciate having it for my sniper as well. and the ability to start with a boltok and not have to scrounge for it. I dunno what they did to the snub, but it is garbage now. Back in gears 1 and 2, you could reliably drop a drone with one mag. in gears 4, i've triple mag dumped a drone in the head and he was still shooting. didn't even get staggered.
I've done some digging, and its probably old hat, but I got some info for horde mode cards.
-The cards max out at level 5, thank god. Even though there are a shit ton of them. You need about 20 duplicates in order to max a skill.
-The bullshit currently, is that you cannot craft a card you do not own. So that lynchpin Explosive Headshot sniper card is forever out of your reach unless you can manage to luck into the first one. Then you can scrap everything in order to max out the level. You don't need to luck into 20 rare skill cards, even though it'd save thousands of scrap if you got a few of them.
I like horde mode, and I'm gonna see myself playing it for a while, but this progression system is bullshit. There is no way to tackle insane without a lot of maxed out fortification and damage cards.
I lucked out and unlocked Gary on my third box, so that was nice.
Insane run has been annoying. Fighting any enemy other than the grubs just sucks in this mode; damage is turned up to 11 so Juvies kill in two hits (I've been tag-teamed by them more than I can count)
I'm currently on the Swarmak fight, which I may have screwed myself on by destroying all four generates at the same time, meaning I have to pop all of the blisters in one go. I thoguht the game would save after a few blisters rather than when you activate the generator. Whoops.

I really want this--the last time I had any luck with GOW Horde was GOW3 years ago, and my original horde group has dispersed (also, almost none of them have the new consoles).

I had to restart a chapter so I could better fight the Swarmak, but beyond that it was mostly just being slow, methodical and cheesing the shit out of things.
Now need to do it in coop.
Anywho, the new Xbox Dashboard update is out, so the Arcade Squad Club is real. I sent out a handful of invites, but I know I didn't get everyone, so let me know if you still need one.

They added Clubs to Xbox Live, so I can, say, create a Gears of War club for PA members. Through this we can do stuff like ping everyone in the club for a Looking For Group, or use the MotD system to plan get togethers. If we get some people added to this thing, I'll try to set one up for the weekend.

I scrapped the XP cards I got with the 10th anniversary packs - I did it all for das skins! Knife kills as Marcus? Yeah, probably not gonna happen anytime soon.
On a related MP note, I've been playing some vs AI multiplayer on insane difficulty and seem to do pretty good - often in the top 3 by the end of a match. I then feel overconfident and jump into casual MP and get chunked like crazy (with the exception of one night where I was running around and playing what seemed in my mind like Xplosive or ToyxSoldier, but of course not really). I really want to get better vs real people, so if anyone ever wants to play some no pressure practice-like MP on the casual playlist, feel free to hit me up!
I'll jump into ranked whenever TC fixes the horrendous lack of any real penalty for people leaving matches.

there are so few that people just run off to kill them as quick as they can and then when they get sucker punched, they leave when no one rezzes them immediately.
upping the monsters will at least force people to stay near base.
like just put waves 11-20 into the first 10, but leave the 2xhealth mutator off.

Explosive weapons tend to be low ammo, so having a buffed up backup weapon makes a lot of sense.
