I've so far only seen one AR challenge that resembles the challenge rooms (Tower Defense) and that is extremely simple and quick. Considering I spent about as much time on the combat challenges in City (and then even more time with the awesome Joker's Carnival challenge) as I did on the story, I'm pretty damn disappointed with Knight in that regard. I mean, I got the game for free, so I can't be too mad. But still.
And shockingly, I really, really like the APC take down missions. The game looks incredible during those chase bits, and knocking out the escorts almost brings me back to the unparalleled joys of Burnout 3. Almost.

Well, I got it running with no tearing or anything*. But it crashes out with an out of memory error after about 10min, despite only using 5 out of 8 gb.
I'll say this though, even running with everything on low as a precaution, the game looks bloody gorgeous.

My first major fight in Knight was a large group of thugs hanging out in the streets. My muscle memory for this franchise immediately kicked in and I decimated them with the most awesome array of Bat punching and flipping that you've ever seen. I was all "Yup, I'm still Batman!" I love this series.

So I think it's safe to say that Batman: Arkham Knight has replaced Crysis as the new system benchmark for a monster rig. "I can play Crysis--" "Yeah, yeah, that's nice kid. I can play Batman." "oh..."
Oh shit, the good news keeps coming! Greenmangaming have p pledged to offer refunds if the next patch doesn't fix the game. I'm on mobile so can't link it stupidly but it's on gamespot.com. First article. Getting hopeful now!

We're aware that a number of users have been having issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight, and we're talking to Warner Bros who are resolved to address these concerns. You can find WB's official response to the issues here.
Warner Bros. are currently working on a patch which we are hoping will be released soon. We want you to enjoy your game, but if after the fix has been released, you still cannot play your game, we will process refund requests for the game.
In the meantime, though, a WB representative has posted on the game's Steam's community forums issuing a number of helpful guidelines for PC gamers, details on specifications and configurations, and how to set up your rig to try and get the best out of Arkham Knight as it currently stands...

Maybe the end of the week, early next week would be my guess. Hopefully any patch will be thoroughly tested as the last thing they want to do is make things worse :P

Yeah, a patch that gets rushed out is likely to only make things worse.
There is no reason for GMG to not offer immediate refunds. A consumer should not have to wait for a patch unless they are personally okay with doing so. Anyone who ordered from GMG and can't play NOW and wants a refund deserves one.

Is there a way they can give refunds without the person being able to keep the game in their steam account?
That's cool to hear. I had planned not to order any more major multiplatform titles from GMG in the future, just due to the risk of another porting disaster, but if they're gonna do refunds for cases like this, I guess I'm not too worried about it

So 30 minutes in and I think I already know who the Arkham Knight is.
The game keeps giving me these fun opportunities to interrupt overconfident villains, and I keep wasting them with my compulsive need to hear all of the dialogue.
I currently have three predictions who the Arkham Knight is, and all of them will annoy me.
The thing is, I'm already at the point where I can't even be mad at what lame plot contrivance will eventually lead to the "oh of course it's that person" moment because it's already made up for with OH MY GOD HOW DID THEY MANAGE TO KEEP THIS OTHER THING THAT JUST HAPPENED A SURPRISE FOR TWO YEARS OF PRODUCTION
Seriously, for all the silliness of the plot, I'm loving how many times the game has sprung something on me in a legit almost-dropped-the-controller-in-surprise way

Listen, the franchise peaked with Batman punching a shark. I know nothing will top that, so I'm just along for the rest of the ride. :P
Well now I feel dumb for having no idea who the Arkham Knight is.
...
Okay, I kinda looked it up now
I knew who the character was, but had no idea what his status was in this universe. Since it wasn't built up much at all in the Arkham games themselves, I don't feel too bad about not figuring it out

I'm pretty sure I know who the Knight is.
I'm going to be slightly annoyed since it was never built up to in the previous games, but overall it won't make me too mad.
That Killing Joke "flashback" was great. I mean the overall scene transition was sweet, but still. I do wish they had used some of the actual dialogue though; the corny spine jokes were great.
Also yea the AK is obvious from the get go and may have been why some reviewers have called it underwhelming, but not everyone who plays the games knows the stories (though not sure how they will know who it is if it is who it is).
This isn't really a story spoiler, but I'm going to spoiler it anyway just in case.
This was the LAST game I ever expected to cause a jump scare. And it has happened twice in different ways. At least in horror games I'm sort of always anticipating it, but this hit me out of NOWHERE and I thought my heart might explode.
It's funny, if you have enough knowledge to figure it out, you will pretty much immediately. If you don't, he'll be revealed and you'll be like "...who?"
SPOILERTH
I got it from a combination of "who can fight like Batman" and "why is Red Hood a DLC character?" and then kinda confirmed it when replaying Asylum and City when Joker mentions killing one of the Robins.

Ah ok I didn't remember them referencing it in Asylum, and didn't finish City (AR missions pissed me off).
So I finished the main story (love the wheel for selecting missions to focus on), and
there is no damn way this is actually happening. I'm loving it, and it's ballsy as shit for rocksteady to end the series this way, but I'm assuming the 100% ending is Bruce waking up from one of the various doses of fear gas he gets with the "identity revealed" stuff having been a hallucination.
On the subject of the Arkham Knight identity,
count me as originally being disappointed they went with Jason, but I came around. From all the Joker retrospective about when he had him to the last 20% of the story or so where Knight is just LOSING HIS DAMN MIND every time you meet (plus the, I thought, pretty sweet transition from Knight to Hood in his predator section), I think they made up for almost never having mentioned Robin II in the previous games. Still was hoping for it to be Ra's, Talia, or Hush, but this worked out. Also assuming that one of the later endings has a reconnect with Jason moment.
Now, can we please have an option, even if it's outside the season pass dlc, that reskins the game with the BTAS versions of the characters? Pretty please? I will totally give more money for it.
God the later batmobile missions are such a tedious slog.
Sit in this 10m cube and fight off 60 drones, a quarter of which are artillery tanks sitting outside the area you're allowed to be in constantly spamming homing missiles at you.

Oof, yeah some of the other Batmobile missions make me regret saying the Batmobile stuff "wasn't so bad." It's a fine addition, but there is way too much of it and only some of it is well implemented.

Yeah, he's the main villain.
But the car just isn't great, as a puzzle tool or as tank fights.
And Road Rage took me way too long, that challenge was not fun. Only the first Riddler track felt ingenious.
Oh and kbam makes tank battles way way easier compared to controller.
Yeah, it seems fairly obvious as soon as you hear him talk.
