Well, turns out I've been sitting on an Arkham Knight code and didn't realize it... so I am installing now.
Update:
Soooo... I just played 2+ hours of this and it runs like a dream at max everything and of course this game is fucking gorgeous, including all the fog and rain crap they have in the options. There was one hiccup the very first time I got into the Batmobile which was just like 1/2 second video stutter, but it wasn't during all the jumping and what not, it was right as the camera spun around and reset to give me control.
That being said, so far I love this game. Batman is dark and feels just beefier, experienced, like the veteran he is. The pacing is quick, I love the UI and menu design for the maps and quest choices. I am not a fan of radial menus for items but in this case it doesn't feel too bad.
I don't know how bad it was before the patch but if my my current experience is any indication of the work they are doing to fix it, I hope that it plays this nice for everyone.
Is it the one on the street? There should be a power conduit above you that you can grapple with the batmobile. Power Overwhelming!
It's behind you. Just save a missile barrage til the last one where they all light up.
I think that was the only riddle I looked up the answer on. Then felt kinda dumb for not just looking around for the answer.
I also had to look up the one in the tunnels, with the forcefield near the ceiling.
Turns out one of my first tries was right, but the mechanics were finnicky so when it didn't let me do it, I assumed it wasn't the solution and proceeded to try every gadget and move until giving up and asking the internet.
I had to glitch that one.
I landed on the forcefield, and shocked myself over to a wall and skyrimed up a little bit until I wasn't being shocked.

Is it possible to just jump out of the batmobile? Because the forced eject sends you damn near into the ceiling. I've gotten that one, but it felt more like luck than skill even after figuring out what I needed to do.

Took me a lot of tries, in the end
I glided into a wall near the top and used that to bounce off into the middle of the room in time for the line launch. Super fiddly though

Beat the game today. Didn't 100% it- those last few mine disarmament missions and the riddles can go pound sand. I enjoyed the game but wish they had eased up on the Batmobile stuff. It wasn't as polished as the other bits and it showed. The nostalgic credits were cool too.
Crime fighter Pack 2 and Assault on GCPD are both up a downloading for me from PSN. Also, the second bomb thug I've fund is giving me fits. I absolutely cannot find a place to electrify a batarang from that Riddler button. Grrrr.
Man. Playing the Tumbler pack races are bumming me out, when compared to the 1989 pack. The 1989 pack was much more fun, with the Danny Elfman theme included in the tracks.
Not sure if I'm thinking of the same thing, but you can
just use the REC gun to zap the bomb into a disabled state
Damn it I did the same thing in City. And I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to get the Batmobile up onto a landing near the bank when the answer was "shoot that wall from the ground, dumb ass." Apparently overthinking things is a theme for me. Thanks!
I just finished the main story and wow, so good. Loved it. I also love how much there is to do after and to have more story reasons to do it. The focus on the Batmobile was a bit strong but I'm ok with that because it kicks ass.
“As many of you know, we released a major patch for Batman: Arkham Knight PC a few weeks ago. While there were significant performance improvements made to the game, the teams are continuing to work on the additional updates that were outlined in our previous post. We expect these updates to be ready at the end of October, at which time the PC version will be made available for purchase. In addition, support for all DLC that has been released for the console versions will be in place.”
Not 100% solid and no world on any goodies for those of us who have waited it out/got stuck with a season pass, but hey, progress!

Completely playable now though, a massive u turn. And this October release date falls nicely for my big day
Looks like the classiv TV show pack is going to be two race tracks, and costumes for Robin and Catwoman. Was hoping for Batgirl

Did they mention anything like a "Whoops, our bad!" thing for PC players at all? Or was it just "We'll pull the game from some retailers and try to fix it."?
I already played and finished the game on PS4 so it doesn't really matter, but it makes me wonder about WB.

Nope, nothing mentioned so far. (At the start the response was basically "lol guess your PC sucks brah!")
Throwing in say the Batgirl DLC for existing owners would be nice, but yeah..not got my hopes up very high.

Blaming Rocksteady and not the publisher Warner Bros, who even threw out a deliberate cash grab with another studio in between games, is, I think, a little illogical. Sure it turned out to be pretty decent, but it was also buggy as shit and support was dropped early.
By all means, Rocksteady are the ones responsible for too much batmobile and whatnot. But they really aren't the ones in control of publishing and management issues like this. By all accounts they're working their asses off on the PC version right now.
I just tried out the previous patch and I get a 20 frame boost with the same settings I was forced to use to get 30s. Gliding around the city was smooth. It was amazing.
You can also turn off motion blurr and antialiasing and shit from the graphics menu.
Now that they are allowed to, they're fixing it.
The only reason Warner Bros are putting time into this is because of the outcry. Otherwise they would have let it rot and wouldn't have paid Rocksteady a dime to fix it. I seriously doubt we are gonna get any decent free stuff. WB are all apologetic and stuff, but I doubt they've seriously changed their spots.
Just another decent studio under a terrible publisher.

News of the October update adding character select to AR challenges got me thinking about this game again
Know who I think would have made a way cooler Arkham Knight?
Arkham City/Knight Spoilers
Talia. She died at the end of the game like, what, 20 feet from a Lazarus pit? And Batman completely ignored her and focused entirely on Joker being dead.
A pissed off resurrected Talia would have been so much cooler than Jason Todd. Not to mention they wouldn't need to shove some flashback sequences into the game just to explain who the character is like they did with Jason since she was actually in a prior game in the series.
Hell they could have even made R'as the Knight. Make him extra angry that Batman let his daughter be killed.
Basically anything else they could have done would have been better than Jason Todd.
Also I'm totally expecting at least one of the Al Ghuls to show up in dlc because come on, they never die. I mean, most comic book characters don't, but especially them.
A fair quantity of stuff (quality debatable) in the back-half of their "six months of content", which I'm guessing is the result of needing to focus on fixing the PC version.
Most notably, coming in December, is the Season of Infamy: Most Wanted Expansion, which sees missions that feature Killer Croc, Mister Freeze, Mad Hatter, and Ra’s Al Ghul.
"In December, the Season of Infamy: Most Wanted Expansion will appear in your Gotham City, with each one approximately the similar length as the Most Wanted missions in the main game," reads the post on the Warner Bros. forum.
"Mad Hatter is playing a sinister mind-game with Batman, and GCPD’s finest are the pawns. Killer Croc has escaped from his maximum security cell and is wreaking havoc on a crashed airship. The League of Assassins has returned to Gotham City, but what is their motive and who is in charge? And Mister Freeze may be closer than ever to completing his life’s work… but at what cost?"
Hmmmm. Was going to delete AK from my PS4's HD to make some room, but I guess I can keep it around a little longer. Maybe we'll get some worthwhile DLC afterall.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
The best part of all this is this is the ONE time I EVER bought a season pass. Which has really blown up in my face.
To be fair, I'm one of the lucky people who had no problems with the PC version aside from a little slowdown when jumping into the Batmobile sometimes. But not getting the DLC I paid for (for once) is annoying.
Also, I was very excited when I saw the "Batman vs Superman" upcoming DLC until I realized it was just a skin.
Honestly, mini adventures with new villains are the best possible thing they could have released. I don't know about everyone else, but Arkham Knight felt a little light on Bat-baddies compared to City. I mean, the story was fantastic, but still.
Hah, that WB forum post spoils the League of Shadows most wanted missions.
Though, I suppose it isn't surprising that Ra's isn't dead. Maybe Talia will show up too.
Honestly, that isn't even a spoiler.
Who on earth thought for one millisecond he was dead? A big spike through his chest? Really? It's Ras Al Ghul. Not being dead is his thing.
It never even crossed my mind.

So the patch that added character select to combat challenges came out a few days ago. Dlc characters are only actually available if you own the dlc, which makes sense, but I was kind of hoping for free Batgirl. Oh well.
But holy shit I forgot just how few AR challenges there were. Without buying any dlc, the total number of ar challenges you can play with different characters is THREE. And 2 of the 3 are challenges that you fail if you get hit even once.
Robin and Nightwing are still really fun to play as but man, I had forgotten the many ways this game had let me down. And they actually re-balanced the challenges for Harley, since I guess she was never meant to fight against brutes or ninjas? So in challenges where they would normally appear you just get regular thugs instead.
Here's hoping those villain dlc side missions are actually good. I probably won't get them right away since I don't really want Arkham Knight to take up 1/5th of my ps4 hard drive, but maybe I'll get the inevitable game of the year edition when it's cheap.
EDIT: Huh, checking out the Arkham Knight forums, it sounds like some future AR combat challenges will be round based. Good on them for addressing complaints I guess.

AR Challenges are one of the most popular features in the community, and we’ve been working to make our game better by implementing player feedback wherever possible. Thanks to fans telling us what they want, we’ve added Character Selection for AR Challenges. We’ve added support for this in combat challenges in October, and we are working on this for Invisible Predator maps ready for November. We’ve also heard you ask for round-based AR combat Challenges and these will be added into the mix from October onwards, along with the ability to select Hard difficulty to remove counter icons and get bigger score bonuses. We’ve heard you wanted more interior locations, so these have been added and will continue to be used in upcoming maps. Finally, some players found the blue walls around AR Challenges to be a little distracting, and if you’ve got the latest patch you’ll see we’ve significantly reduced this effect to increase the immersion.

The non round based maps are still flawed even with less intrusive blue walls (the instant spawning then attack that is he problem), but it'll be nice to have some good round based ones to sink my teeth into.

I only did ~23% of the Riddler stuff though. I'd love to rescue Catwoman but there was one Riddler area where you have to eject from the batmobile and glide around perfectly through a maze or whatever. I tried it for about 20 minutes before I realized that I wasn't having any fun and moved onto kicking teeth in.
