He had a long good life. I'm sure he has some more metal albums to cut wherever he is now.

Yeah, that's sad but he probably had one of the most interesting lives you could live and enjoyed good health basically right up until the end. Pretty great run.

I'm somehow hoping he's still alive because there is only a single source for his death so far and his agency declined to comment

    But this may be it

    Farewell, Christopher Lee

Though it's a loss, I gotta say if I go out half as well as he did I'll be happy.

Like how many people can say they were an active special operative James Bond spy in WWII and also in a metal band and also a world famous actor

    The answer is no one

For once a celebrity passes away that I am not completely sad to hear of it, but rather sad that we don't yet have the technology to prolong life.

The man has had one hell of an innings. Everyone's time comes and at least his came remarkably late and quickly enough that he was still doing all his good stuff right up until just recently.

    Rest well.

Dang that's super sad but 93 is a decent innings, especially with the career he's had.

It's almost a relief to see a celebrity who has been able to enjoy their time in the spotlight and live their career to the fullest, rather than tragically fall victim to the showbiz machine way too soon, as seems too common these days.

    RIP, Christopher.

My absolute favorite story about Lee is on the extended lord of the rings commentary, Peter Jackson was giving him direction for his death scene, and he was like ok so then wormtongue stabs you in the back and you do a big scream as you fall off the tower

And Lee goes Peter have you ever stabbed anyone in the back?

    Uh...no?

Well, I have. And I can tell you they don't scream. Because the knife deflates their lungs so they can only make a sort of gasping sound before they die.

And Jackson was just like ...oh O.O

The thing about Sir Christopher Lee being dead is that it doesn’t immediately strike you as being much of a career setback. For as long as he was an actor (which was a very long time indeed; his first film role was a one-line part in Terence Young’s baroquely strange romance Corridor of Mirrors, in 1948), his characters have often exuded – not immortality, exactly, but a kind of ennobled deathlessness. You always sensed they’d been around for longer than was perhaps entirely natural, and would more than likely outlast you.

And he was worried about being typecast...

93 is a pretty good run. To still be acting in major motion pictures in your 80s is awfully impressive.

It's hard to be sad about Christopher Lee's passing because he lived more life in his 93 years than most of us would if we had a thousand years.

I'm sad because I'll miss him but him dying just seems like the next great adventure for him.

Oh you don't, because it was terrible?

Well at least please listen to the main song from that movie where Lee is incredible.

long before the great big bang

there was evil in the void

long before the first bird sang

long before the sands of time

long before the birth of crime

    there was evil building hell

He was an incredibly prolific actor and usually cast in the role of the villain. His kids would watch his movies and played a guessing game called "How will daddy die tonight?" Maybe it's hard to believe because we've seen Lee die dozens of times and he's always up again for the next role.

    :(

I literally just told this story to someone in my office about twenty seconds ago.

He was one of those people that you knew was going to pass sooner rather than later just because of his age, but he had this kind of vitality that made him seem untouchable by death.
