Yeah, I was gonna say the hard part is getting a group of 8 to do the ops, but then I remembered the group finder switches ops every day, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad.
haha yeah then you walk into Draxus with a pug group and two hours later you suddenly don't want it anymore
Well.... yeah. The difficulty of actually getting an operation done without a guild to scare up a group for you is why I didn't suggest the Oricon mount in the first place. But you know, the story mode versions of those ops have been tuned way down, I think a pug group can do it now even if they mess up most or all of the mechanics.
I spent a morning wiping on Draxus with a pug group because in a race between devs dumbing down content and the universe producing dumber people, the universe is way ahead.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS
I'm sure somebody will chime in with a horror story about wiping in there but mostly they are pretty faceroll

Weren't we supposed to get rakghoul event starting today? The bits look like they're there, but it's punting me back to the fleet whenever I use the spike, saying the resurgence has ended.
It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

I'm not sure. Life day event started today, though. Maybe they don't want to do both at once?
Edit: No, the conquest for the week is Rakghoul Resurgence, it should be working.
That's what's great about light side inquisitor: you still get to be all snarky and enthusiastic about murder, but you constantly swerve everyone by not electrocuting orphans or whatever.
So far dark side consular seems fun. Playing a character as kind of arrogant and shitty makes them feel more like a character. Light side knight was dull as shit.
yeah, they have a lot of fun with the idea that jedi think every sith is just an insane person
That's because they met the Inquisitor first. The Inquisitor actually is an insane person.
Isn't it great!?

Any update on our rakghoul plague situation?

Is there a trick to getting snow covered parcels or do I just need to stand around and throw snowballs at people non stop?
You can also get them from throwing it at your companion. And you can right-click to remove the status effect from them so you can keep doing it quickly. Only problem is that their default standing position is a little to close for you to throw it, so you need to be running away from them while doing it.
After further investigation, we unfortunately will be unable to address the issues with the Rakghoul Plague before the event expires on Tuesday. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
For those who were looking to run the Rakghoul event, it is scheduled to return on January 12th. Thanks everyone.
It's not horrible customer service? It's a horrible shithouse bug, but CS aren't the ones that weren't able to solve it. They came out and admitted it without trying to hedge, and announced that the event will return very shortly. The CS team made the best of a bad situation that they had no hand in creating.

The event was already scheduled to come back in January, just as it was scheduled to return this week. They're basically just saying, "you're shit out of luck this time, I guess. Try again next time, maybe we'll have it fixed by then!", when they could have said, "we'll fix it this week, and go ahead and extend the event to next week so you can at least get that companion you're all trying to unlock."
the announcement probably could more literally have read
'after further investigation, we have determined that many of our staff are on holiday and aren't coming back into the office to figure out why people can't recruit dr. lokin this week'
I don't find it a big deal tbh, the rakghoul event is irritating anyway

I suppose this could be true. But they have to have some people still on staff, they've planned events for every week during the holiday season.
Really this just emphasizes why they shouldn't have tied companion recruitment to temporary events.
The Lokin recruitment is one of the most stunningly misguided things they've ever put in the game, and I hope that 4.1 or whatever results in them rewriting the quest. I really hope future companion quests don't go the Tedious Gathering Quest route.

There's a lot of companions I'm not going to be recruiting as they trickle them out due to irritating recruitment.
The worst thing now is it looks like having an active recruitment quest blocks all others from that quest giver.

My trooper has the Booming Vocodor of Freedom, and needs no other companions.
...I've still been recruiting the rest because muh completionism.

Do normal stuff and throw it whenever it is off cooldown. You can also get the snowball cannon on the cartel market which has a much shorter cooldown and can stack with the snowball.

I've picked up 42 today doing that.
Guessing that got at least one dumb 'pay 2 win' complaint on their forums.
Not really getting the hate. I mean yeah, getting all the companions is a pain in the ass, but you don't need ALL the companions. The completionists can do that, meanwhile I'm just yanking up the companions I actually like. The rest can stay lost.

I hope they extend the time of the event in apology for that.
Especially since there's no way to get Lokin without the event.

No trick. Just keep throwing, there's only a 15% chance at getting a package.
There are also gift droids in the promenade of Nar shadaa and the capital planets main areas that you can use if other players are scarce.
Nothing on twitter or on the forum yet since the message from yesterday.
and there is just something satisfying in defeating the empire and foiling sith plans with niceness ^^

That's what people think, but it's not true. I've gotten packages from people who already have snowflakes on them.
That is some fine customer service right there.

...I'm now at 54.75 after finishing Nar Shaddaa alone. Sheeeeesh.
I sat around for a while throwing them and I got 2.
It would take non stop hours of doing nothing but throwing snowballs for this stuff. Is that what people do?
