Has anyone commented on the wake up system yet? 25% stun on a throw into a hard knockdown seems like a good place to start if we want to play AE for another couple years
Down with setplay
The higher damage should actually help with this a lot, I think, and ultradavid said that very few moves give a hard knockdown.
Instead of eating the same setup that leads back into itself 3-4 times in a row you have a single mixup that leads into a huge damage or stun, ST style.

Yeah. I was watching a lot of the video and it seemed you could quick rise almost everything like you can in Omega.
So...I'm guessing knockdown while still advantageous won't be as powerful as it used to be.

There's some interesting nuggets to be found in Ultradavids notes

Throw game sounding really SF2-ish.

Other things that lept out at me:
No close/far normals, just neutral and directional. In the same vein, neutral and diagonal jumping attacks are the same.
Ryu's parry seems pretty good- only loses to throws, no startup frames, difficult to whiff punish, if someone misses a link you can mash a reversal out of it
Chun's legs aren't safe on block, but in V-trigger she gets loads of extra hits and her normals do more chip damage
Nash's booms recover faster than Guile's but apparently has very little antiair capabilities
Bison's headstomp/DR is super maneuverable. It can crossup and its possible to maneuver it to be plus on block. Also apparently st.mp to cr.mp xx ex scissors does 30-40% life
Birdie has excellent buttons. Only real negatives listed are his chain grab thing recovers super slowly and he has few combos
I am not worried about anything that is just number tweaking because of the beta and what they have said about what the beta will mean regarding listening to fan feedback and such

he knows that for certain?
seems weird that a dev would admit that at a booth

i feel you can probably just read that as "we are aware damage feels high and it was an intentional decision"

Something I thought about is the system changes mean there aren't anymore guaranteed chip kill setups that don't involve supers.

Nash calls out to me and I have no idea why. I'm assuming T.Hawk won't be back so I guess that's going to be the route I go at first when trying to find a main chicken.

Crouch techs being removed makes me really happy. Let me go for low/throw mixups!
