    Reboot????

The company that made Reboot made Beast Wars too, right?

Funny thing is, due to Canadian media laws, a kid's show couldn't have 'war' in the title, so we had Beasties instead. Confused me to no end.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer was renamed Buffy and the Vampires in Sweden for roughly the same reason: no anything violent in titles

    sweden is the european canada

weird, it starts with Beast Machines (which I also remember) but the actual station promo at the end calls it Beasties

edit: the opening credits were particularly bad, guitar riff with a voice occasionally shouting "BEASTIES" at 3 different points.

The name of the show changed to Beast Machines when they went back to Cybertron and that ad is definitely for Beasties

YTV might have been running Beast Machines and Beasties at the same time for whatever reason

Well is was Buffy och Vampiren actually if I remember right.

    not a single umlaut anywhere

    we was robbed

edit: omg and the edits! they would freeze on one scene while the dialogue for whatever fight was happening continued so not to show any violence. It was incredibly poorly done and just bizarre as hell.

Canadians are just insane for poutine, though. For example, our restaurant makes handmade, massive 6-ounce beef burgers that we've won awards for. They cost six bucks. We also make a poutine that uses cheap shredded mozza-cheddar mix and powdered gravy mix (it's technically vegetarian because it contains no beef stock), for which we charge $5.50. It's not bad, but it's definitely not a premium poutine. Some days, it's a tossup as to which sells better.

i'm going to need to know the name of this establishment, and 13 dollars.

Can you guys in Canadialand still only get burgers well-done? Because that's sad.

The official “safe” temperature for hamburger meat, as enshrined in municipal codes and provincial acts across Canada, is 71 degrees Celsius, eight degrees higher than the generally accepted threshold for medium rare.
    http://news.nationalpost.com/news/canada/medium-rare-burgers-are-taboo-in-canada-but-may-not-be-as-perilous-as-thought

Hunh. I thought that I'd ordered a medium rare burger somewhere. Maybe it was just medium?

There are quite a few places I'd trust to medium-rare it up

why would you want a rare burger?

Rare steak i get, i understand, heck i like them on the rare side. but uncooked hamburger is actually dangerous.

actually dangerous sounds too scare monger-y but increases the odds of germs.

Because a burger cooked until it's gray inside has precisely zero flavor.

According to the article, medium-rare burgers are about as dangerous (or perhaps less?) than raw oysters or stake tartare, both of which I also love greatly

The most annoying part of my job is all the people demanding their burgers well done. They're all well done. I'm required to cook all burgers well done. What you want is for me to burn it.

I keep saying we should have a sign.

And I wouldn't eat either of those, so I guess well-done burgers are right down my alley.

Haha, this is going to make me sound like a picky eater, which I don't really think is true, but nah.

    I don't really like sushi.

Edit: And it's not a fish thing. I love cooked fish. A nicely grilled salmon is probably one of my favourite dishes ever.

Kinda funny were talking about burgers.

I've never really been asked how I want my burger done before but this bar across the street from my hotel is amazing and I keep getting the burgers medium rare. They taste soooooo amazing.

I'm having another right now. 14oz of amazing.

Um...no. Overcooking meat affecting flavor is definitely a thing. Proteins and nutrients have flavor and if you get them too hot you lose that flavor along with the nutrients.

You also are losing a lot of the fat which also has flavor.
