We didn't, but they gave us 8 hours PTO, which they said could be used on that friday if we wanted and the manager approved. But business as usual that day otherwise.

I mean, I know that 2017 is what they want; it's the 20 year anniversary of FF7. I just have a hard time believing Squeenix when it comes to release dates.

Oh man, that does not bode well.

With the word that this is not a PS4 exclusive, Square might convince me to lay down $50 for it on Steam depending. I mean, I'm mostly interested in the project because I want to see how they address the massive problems with FF7's gameplay.

Of course, the 'not exclusive' thing may just mean XBox, but whatevs.

I've been having another sort of nexus of people smelling various things - food, flowers, animals, etc around me and commenting on them. No matter how often this happens, I just can't get used to it.

I guess the implication is the VII remake is running on the XV engine and using its combat style etc, so they've been developing them in tandem. Secretly working on this whole other project goes a long way to explaining why XV has been so long coming. It's not crazy that XV launches the end of this year, then VII gets 18 months polish before its due date.
