I liked the dino in the Jello pool. If that got eliminated, I can't wait for the top 5!
I have inside information it involved no effort whatsoever.
Photoshop has many wonders. I once spent an entire class period turning random things in pictures various colors.
I changed a shirt from light blue to purple (as well as other color changing magic) for my entry. Speaking of which, how in the world I'm still alive I really don't know. Some of these are really good.
I was 15. Red, Cap'n Crunch, Tooth
My original idea was to show Cap'n Crunch sighting a final island/tooth to pillage but couldn't figure out a way to incorporate red.
So my nightmarish "realistic" Cap'n Crunch being eaten by someone eating Cap'n Crunch cereal was born.
I quite liked this one, funnily enough 'fever dream' was the first descriptor I thought of. :P
If we're starting to own up, I was 7. Pink, Candy Cane, Dinosaur. I was snagging random subject pictures out of Image search when I came across the Sugar Rush candy cane forest screen cap, and for some reason my brain locked in on 'Concert Poster'.

Part 7 in the case of Taste and Language vs. Penny Arcade Forumites:
We're down to just a handful left... Are you one of them? Do you feel lucky?
Remember, the task was to find or create an image including one assigned color and two assigned THINGS.
The following entries (names withheld to protect the not-most-guilty) have been sent home, but thanks for playing - all the entries were great fun to look at!
In response to a previous query: jurors received images and keywords only. No names, no indication of how other jurors voted, or who they were, and no captions or descriptions - the idea was to use the three prompts in an image and allowing captions/explanations/etc was beyond the scope of the contest. If you have to explain it, the image isn't doing its job.
Well my friends, it's about that time again. A week from now I'll have aged another year, and 2 or 3 days after that I'll have my 10 year badge. It's been another great year with all of you, and I'm glad you've been able to tolerate me for another year.
You know what that means?
The Witcher 3 - Even more Sex, Violence, Magic, and Racism Edition.
That's right, in keeping with what I've done the last few years, one of you will get a gift this year. This is the game and expansions, and hopefully the last of the Free DLC will be out by the end of next week.
Since at least 5 of you jumped the gun over the last two weeks in gifting me stuff (for shame), I figured I'd start this early instead of a 24 hour giveaway.
From now until 12:01 Eastern on Sunday the 19th, I will not retaliate, and you won't be at the mercy of The List. Just don't get out of hand, okay? You know who I'm talking to.
Here's to another year of gaming with all of you classy people.
15 entries so far, pretty good but I'm sure there's more that want a shot at it.

I think the eliminations were being posted in no particular order. So the next 4 to be eliminated are as awful as the previous six rounds. However, after those are posted we'll have a top 5 that are MORE awful than everything else, then the winner from that.

I feel a little bad by throwing my image together and then adding all the text up there. But I was amused by finding the picture of glasses pineapple with the abacus. My brain started making up this story.
And of course I couldn't resist throwing in a few puns. But I made it for me.
If I had better chops in image editing, I'd thought about taking pictures of sliced pineapple and combining them with an abacus image to replace all the beads with the slices of fruit.

Oh, yours was fine. It was text that fit within the scope of the image, just like the text in the Ewok shield cartoon. It was the "here's what this image means" explanations that were not sent along to the voters.

I finished Mark of the Ninja and really enjoyed it. I started to notice some peculiarities in the story a few levels before the end of the game, so
I was not too surprised at the end when it turned out the lady that has accompanied you through the whole game turned out to be an illusion. I beat the game last night by killing Azai, and this morning by killing her/myself.
The game unlocked a new game+ mode, but I'm not really interested in playing it further.
Special thanks to @Dyvim Tvar, who gifted this game to me on January 1st, 2013. Finally beat it!

Yeah, NG+ is pretty meh. It removes the line of sight and sound indicators and whatnot, which were pretty major in terms of what made the game special, so, yeah.
Personally I went with killing myself. Seemed like I was pretty unambiguously losing my shit.

And Gunpoint is the other circle along with Mark of the Ninja on the Venn diagram that forms Ronin.
Yeah the gadgets really give that Mark of the Ninja feeling. The way everything is revealed to the player right from the start is very Gunpoint. That turn based thing is pretty unique though. It's a pretty great implementation of simultaneous plot turns (wego, turn-based realtime or whatever), that keeps all of the physics of an action platforming game but gives you that turn based fine tuned control and planning. And giving the player the ability to pause and resume at any time outside of combat makes for intensely awesome ninjatastic movement and stealth assassin gameplay between the huge combat set pieces. And those set pieces have created some of the most interesting tactical and physics based puzzles I've encountered in ages. And it's pretty dynamic. I've gone back and tackled levels and figured out all kinds of neat ways to take down all of the bad guys. The grapple is the key to all kinds of neat tricks.
I really can't think of any other game that meshes turn based gameplay with such kinetic action. It's a really neat game. So while it has a lot going on that evokes games like Gunpoint and Mark of the Ninja right off the bat it ends up being its own thing. The turn based mechanic is so distinct for me that it left any idea of the game being derivative behind. It's its own thing.

Yeah, I don't mean to imply it's even remotely derivative. It takes strong inspiration from a couple of other games, but it has such a unique core gameplay loop to it that a lot of that inspiration is just superficial and complimentary to the crazy cyberpunk ninja chess game going on.

Yeah, it's something I've been meaning to make a point of for a while now. This was just a convenient time to bring it up. There is so much focus on the games influences I'm afraid that people come away thinking it's a derivative game with a gimmick, and they can't be blamed for thinking that. The influences are really striking and up front and it's next to impossible to talk about the game without mentioning them. The cool thing is that it takes those influences and it does really interesting things with them its own way. It's bouncing ideas and mechanics around in a really thoughtful way, building on what others have done instead of merely taking those things and rebranding them.
Is Her Story supposed to be a creepy/spooky game? It just flickered and I guess "my" reflection showed up in the screen.
Looking around online, I guess it does that every time you search for a keyword that is a big deal, but I had already seen a clip of the lady talking about her twin doing some The Prestige type shit, so when I typed in "twins" and it flickered, it didn't seem like that big of a deal to me. The game thought otherwise.
Also, is it supposed to nudge you at the very start the way it does?
The game has been talked about in whispers all over the internet as a game in which a crime happens, but when I turned it on the search bar had already been filled with the word "murder", which gave me a decent idea of where to start
The Pluto/Blu firetruck entry is great. Kudos to its creator.
Fun Fact, I put in "pluto" as one of my entries precisely because I wanted to see if the person that got it would use the disney character or the dwarf planet in their entry.
The only thing I have against Ronin so far is the inability to respec. I didn't realize that the blank dots have to be taken in order to get connected abilities. It would have made much more sense to just somehow denote that those abilities cost 2 points. As it is, I can throw my sword and am one point away from being able to call it back. I can't help but think that instead of being halfway to sword recall that decoy would be more useful.
Other than that, though? Absolutely wonderful murder simulator. This game makes me feel more like Batman than any Batman game to date has done (despite all the murder). Or like the Robert Downey Jr incarnation of Sherlock Holmes.
Oh, and the game does not tell you this (that I saw), but you can force it into turn-based by pressing spacebar. This is handy when you're, say, swinging in through a window and nobody sees you yet but you want to stop next to a guy and sword him to death.

That's funny because in this case "cut up" is a double entendre which means both literal dissection AND emotional distress.
