Could somebody here tell the weather over North Texas to not be 105 for the next 10 days? Or like, ever? Because I need to work, but I don't need to work in that shit.
So this Ink popped up on my front page today. Seems to be a simple platformer with a neat gimmick (you splash paint whenever you jump, which reveals the stage as you go). But it looks a lot like SuperMeatBoy, like a lot a lot. It's particularly noticeable about half-way through the video, where they show a key/lock blocks that look just like the ones in SMB. Is that kosher?
Also, as an aside, i'm going through DeadSpace 2 again, like i mentioned before, yeah? Why did i think it'd be a good idea to try to go through the school section with no ammo for my Javelin gun and un-upgraded Contact Beam and Mine Layer as back-up? With my last save like 2chapters back? What the heck was i thinking?
The Swindle has gotten a lot of patches and balance passes and it's a lot more newbie friendly.
For instance, to even buy the first upgrade (100 bucks to hack computers, which is where the real money is), you needed to scrounge for every dollar in the first two levels. Now for the first few levels money on the ground is tripled so you should get to 100 bucks and buying that hacking tool after the first day. A few other abilities have been decreased as well. Feels like a more more gradual curve now.

That game looks awesome, the colors are amazing and it really seems to push the "even if you die you make it easier next time" by splattering ink when you hit spikes and stuff.

Kind of fun to see all my early purchases. I'm not even sure why I bought Counterstrike: Condition Zero, but I am pretty surprised at how early I bought it. You could say it was my first backlogged game on Steam, with Red Orchestra being the second.
My first game I bought on Steam was Poker Night in 2013. I know I've been on Steam longer than that though, just unable to buy anything due to either lack of debit card or lack of a computer powerful enough to play anything past 2002. Probably both.
Is it safe to upgrade to windows 10? How are steam and games responding to it?
My only glitch has been that TrueCrypt volumes won't mount.
And that I have all of my account information stored in an Excel spreadsheet on a Truecrypt volume. AND I upgraded four out of five computers in the house to Windows 10 before finding this out.
Apart from that, smooth sailing so far. I might not be so forgiving if I had upgraded all five.

I had to go back to Win7 after several days since it kept crashing my computer. Win10 has that quick revert option available for a month once you install its OS.
Dell's listing for my laptop announced is that it was not optimized for it as of yet, but it may have been a corrupted download. I dunno, I am not tech savvy.
It was a BSOD for "Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal" mostly, but I got others too.
Will give it a month or two, erase all the files already downloaded, and try again.

Completed Unearthed: Trail of Ibn Battuta - Episode 1: Gold Edition.
It's....not very good. It's also only a buck and most of you who have it probably got it for less than that in a bundle, so there ya go :V
But yeah. Mechanically, it's just kinda clunky. It was refreshing to see an Islamic cast, which is not something you actually see, and it had the benefit of actually getting me to search for Ibn Battuta, because he's not a person who I learned about in school (but led an apparently interesting life that warranted it ala Marco Polo). So props for that.
Also, opening sequence, a tad on the nose there when talking about "raiding tombs and uncharting mysteries." Just a tad.
Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey got a remastered edition made, it's currently 10% off. Looks like owners of the original game get the remastered version free.

As I think I've said before, for its price, it's worth it just for the survival mode where you can play as a woman in a hijab shooting zombies and Egyptian mummies.
Yes, friends! It's that time of year again. When I complete another cycle in the spiral to inevitable death and decay. Of course I mean my birthday! Now, I had a big hullaballoo contest planned. Multiple things going. multiple prizes. That kinda crap. Well, my funds shat on all of that, but that will not stop me!
So here's your task! We all have birthdays. Usually they suck. Sometimes they don't. But if we all have birthdays, so too must a video game character. Well, we never see this. We never know what our beloved videogame stars do to celebrate their birthday.
I want you to show me this. Show (or tell) me what [insert favorite videogame character here] does on [insert pronoun here] birthday. I know, it's not a great prompt, but it's what I have to work with. SO, Heenato you ask! What's in it for me?!

Daedalic Entertainment and Swedish developer Forgotten Key will send players into the mystic 3rd-person exploration adventure AER in 2016.
AER puts players in the shoes of Auk, a pilgrim girl, to explore an unbelievable open world beneath her feet and wings. Wings? Yes, indeed! Auk has a rare gift: She can turn into a bird and is one of the few people who can reach even the most remote places in her homeland of flying islands, in search for the “Memories of the Past”. On her journey she encounters other shape shifters, visits the ruins of the old gods and has to face dark creatures to revive the world of AER from menacing shadows.
In a genre mix between action adventure and flight exploration, players will join Auk on her pilgrimage. The surreal style of AER will be accompanied by reduced but colorful low poly graphics that underline the quiet tone of the game in a fitting way.
AER will be published worldwide on PlayStation®4, Xbox One™, PC, Mac and Linux by Daedalic Entertainment. The game will be released in 2016.

I remember such errors from my video card being pushed to its limit. Sadly, it pops up ffrom any source on your computer that reaches its limit so it is hard to diagnose what is being pushed.

@LostNinja - The only issue I have had is that my bluetooth dongle doesn't work now. I've only put 5 minutes into trying to fix it though so it might not even be that big of an issue. The one thing I will say though is that the upgrade process starts very quickly. Like I was just kind of fiddling with it and then all of the sudden I was upgrading. I expected a few more clicks to confirm that that was in fact what I wanted to do.

I haven't been able to heavily use my PC post-upgrade but so far I'm really liking Windows 10. I've played just a few games (MKX, WWE2K15, Binding of Isaac Rebirth) and it ran great and I had no problems with any of my accessories being recognized.
I did have it go black during installation only to realize it had seen that my TV was hooked up and tried to send the video signal over there. I unplugged the hdmi cable and it was back where it needed to be, but there was a brief moment of panic.

I fear something like my OEM video drivers not working after going to Win10. Until I see something about someone with this exact same model of laptop (and with at least the same GPU) upgrading with no issues, I'm sticking with Win7.
I have prior when it comes to sticking to older OSes, though. The last time I actually upgraded the OS on a machine of my own was taking it up to MS-DOS 6.22 and Windows 3.11. Although I did put Win95 on that machine once but it was unusably slow (486DX2 66MHz w/8MB RAM), so I went back to DOS.
