August 2, 2016 - After announcing the PlayStation 4 Wonderful Edition last week we were surprised to hear from legions of PS Vita owners that wanted a Wonderful Edition of the Summon Night 6 release, too. After a crazy week of figuring out how to adapt the internal package structure to accommodate a PS Vita or a PlayStation 4 game, we've finally got a solution that will work, and are announcing today that because of overwhelming fan feedback, we're offering the PS Vita Wonderful Edition for presale, beginning today! The PS Vita Wonderful Edition will have all the same amazing goodies as the PS4 version, except the poster will be different and it will come with a PS Vita game and unique serial numbered hologram instead of a PS4 game and PS4-specific hologram.
Each presale reservation voucher purchased will reserve one Wonderful Edition that will ship when the game is released in February. From now until September 15th, we're offering a $20 discount off the $135 price of the PS Vita Wonderful Edition, meaning you can get it for $115! From September 15th to October 31st the price returns to $135. After October 31st we will not be selling any more PSVita or PS4 Wonderful Editions so we have time to complete manufacture, ship, and assemble the sets so they're ready for launch.
We're using Amazon Payments, so if you have an Amazon account, you're ready to buy! But we ask that you please check your Amazon shipping address to make sure it's correct BEFORE you make a purchase or purchases. We're very excited about the Wonderful Edition we've put together, and hope you are, too! Click the button below either the PS4 or PS Vita version to go to the order page for that version:
Note again that he has said there will be a standard retail release of the regular editions of this game, so it won't be a "get it now or it's gone" release like the previous ones if you don't want to shell out $115+ for the LEs just to get a physical copy.
You know, after nearly finishing Trails of Cold Steel, I had to look up who Rufus' VA was. He was so familiar, and my mind told me I heard him in Mass Effect, but he was just slightly different than Brandon Keener (Garrus). And I was right, Rufus' VA was in the Mass Effect series... as Legion!
Never would've expected Legion to have such a, well... sexy voice, and that's coming from a middle aged straight male ginger.
I can sorta understand the "middle aged straight male" effecting ones ability to remark on the sexiness of a dude's voice*, but uh ...why would being ginger effect that?
XSEED confirmed Trails of Cold Steel II for September 6.
That's in only 3 weeks!
Holy shit, that just made my day! Yay!
It kinda made my day, and it kinda made me go 'Shit... I need to finish the first one quick.'
And this game's length is no fucking joke. I'm like 90 hours in and still not finished. It's Persona 3 and 4 levels of long. I mean I don't mind that, it preps me for Persona 5, but GODDAMN...

Oh, I know. I take the days between Christmas and New Years off work every year. This year it ended up being about 2 weeks total off. Cold Steel 1 was the only game I played for the majority of that time, and I was playing it almost every day. What the sequel is going to do to me kind of scares me.

I'll admit though, I'm kinda glad I'm finishing the first rather late and can start the second almost immediately after. Seems to me the first game mostly does a shit ton of background info and explaining the sociopolitical climate, showing off the different regions and factions and conflicts in each. It then shows an actual dangerous conflict towards the end and sets all the pieces in place, before what I'm guessing is an 'Empire Strikes Back' ending that got people pissed they had to wait nine months for the story to continue.
They had to do that, and I'm glad they did... but that's a LOT of info, and a LOT of characters to remember. And something tells me they're gonna stay cute about Emma's backstory until Cold Steel 2... which will INFURIATE me.
Browsing random upcoming games on Amazon, and Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star popped up. Seems like a Dynasty Warriors style game. Is that accurate, because I could be in to that.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.

I know the bare minimum(maybe less) about Fate/Extra, but I am always down for badass warriors games! This one looks like there's tons of mooks to obliterate on screen at once too. Preorder'd! (on PS4 tho...)

I'm kinda' surprised no one posted the Moon Hunters news - that is, Vita version cancelled.
Pertinent bit:
PlayStation Vita Cancelled
"We have examined every possible variant of the next few months/years of our lives, and we have sadly decided that releasing the game on PSVita is not going to be a good effort after all.
Why? Well, one factor is the engine we're using, but with all of the advantages Unity offers, I'm loathe to seem like I'm complaining about lack of low-level resource control. And one factor is the platform itself, which is more demanding technically than PS4 or desktop, but I'm loathe to seem like I'm complaining about such a beautiful, well-made piece of hardware.
So, the honest and blunt truth is that the only way we could realistically make it work on Vita is to make the game worse. What this means is that when we looked at how to get it running properly, we had to permanently remove the character portraits, real-time shadows, and loading times were absolutely intolerable. And that was just the beginning -- we still had a long, long way to go. So we felt that, with those sacrifices already made, it was unacceptable to reduce the game's quality further.
The upshot is that two years ago, we were arrogant and naive.
I personally apologize, as both the promise and the cancellation are my decision (me, Tanya Short), and ask for your forgiveness. I am sorry.
Please do not harass the Moon Hunters programmers, as they have done their best to work with a difficult situation I put them in.
I hope I have learned from this mistake. I really hope so.
What does this mean for Vita backers? If you would like any other key, we will immediately give you one of that platform. If the only key you ever wanted was a PSVita key, we may even be able to find 2 keys for you, to make sure you can play with a friend, which helps take out more of the sting.
Can I get a refund? We deeply appreciate your patience and we know we have broken your trust. If you wish, we will be able to refund the $15 CAD of the game key value itself -- as we delivered on all of the other rewards, we will not refund anything remaining from your pledge. However, the CAD has fallen in worth compared to the USD, so those of you internationally may find that taking the platform key and reselling it (alas) could be more profitable.
Again, I'm sorry. I know it is disappointing, which is the last thing I wanted to do to our backers."
Translation: "Ummm I guess we didn't really put any thought into whether or not we could put the game on Vita, before we told you that we'd take your money in exchange for the promise to put it on Vita? And we're totally not prepared to pay a studio that makes it their business to port games on to Vita to port our game. Sorreee. Our bad! LOL we're so bad!"
In better news,
also (Earthbound meets Undertale) Glitched hit its Vita stretch goal... for what that's worth...

No word yet whether it'll also have a giant gaping world-eating vagina special attack.

You think I'm joking or exaggerating, but I assure you, I am not. Spoiler for out of nowhere last boss of a 3 year old game that's never going to be localized, I guess.
Is it weird that I identify Japanese companies by their Neptunia characters more than what they actually put out? Like, I'm reading that article, and see MAGES. and 5pb. get mentioned, and I'm thinking, "Man, those two did some real work in my party over a couple of games, this has my attention now."

They make and develop good visual novels, as well as port other peoples' work. Hopefully you've at least played Steins;Gate. It does have a Vita port.

That you'd really like a new soul sacrifice?
I know I would. Delta was so good.
This looks like a lot of fun! I need to get over the make-your-own-skillset hurdle mentally and then I'll be right there

It's Extraverse though, so I hope you like fighting haphazardly put together polygons.

On the other hand it wasn't actually a very fun game.
So I'm conflicted.

Having bought their previous collector's edition, this was a no-brainer for me.
I expect this might put a damper on the Vita's future localizations and I also expect we'll see a 3.62 any day now.
