https://gfycat.com/DistinctBaggyCrossbill this is actually a bad play on my part because you can clearly see (and i saw) my partner on the right closer to the ball. this is educational though because it demonstrates the power of playing fast and not hesitating. despite my being further from the ball, he hesitated and i beat him to it (i actually didn't trust him at all because he had been whiffing a lot all game)
https://gfycat.com/AnotherEntireAmazondolphin two points: learn how to fly backwards/upside down, and pass to your team! seriously, look for passes to make AND take. you will level up!

As much as I enjoy playing this game, the community is out of control terrible and I just get depressed.
It can be bad sometimes for sure (see my post history in this thread for my own struggles with this issue). That said, even though parts of the community can be toxic, there's a large portion of it that's quite pleasant as well. There are certainly WAAAAAY worse communities out there, and the game is fun enough that I'll keep coming back to it in spite of the small-but-vocal subset of terrible people who I sometimes come across in random matches.
Alternatively... come play with PA people! Then you don't have to worry about it because we're all cool as fuck.

I completely agree. I don't play on my own anymore as you too often wind up with someone who is doing not too well, but sure as hell with flame and exit if you miss one ball. I used to play 1v1 for a while which is ok if you mute the player at the start of the game, but is ultimately a very stressful game mode.
There are worse communities, but that does not excuse the fact that the community is absolutely atrocious in general and Psyonix is doing jack shit about it. Is there any evidence the report player functionality is used?
so I know I've talked about getting a Rocket League play/practice group going for awhile, and my schedule might actually start to permit something like that happening. is that still something folks here would be interested in?
Apparently I've been slacking for the past 10 months and had a lot of replays piled up so here's my second video. It's mostly in chronological order so the less awful bits are probably in the second half of the video.

I am usually down for some Rocket League in the evenings... if I'm not already playing pubg.

Great games with @dalituba tonight, as usual! We had one really nice play I couldn't help but upload here. Nothing super spectacular, just an awesome pass and some luck on my end to bang it in. One of those fist-pump moments!

a couple lukewarm responses. when I talk about a practice and play group I'm not talking about grouping up and slapping down some ladder matches, I'm talking about maybe doing some inhouse games and doing play analysis with the goal of improvement and skill building
understand if some people don't care enough about the game for this but it's something I've wanted to do for awhile, to help people level up their game
i am gonna try to be on for a big chunk of Saturday and at least a little bit Friday and Sunday for this purpose. please add me on steam (Clicksterz is my tag) if you haven't and just message me if you see me on
Don't get discouraged man, it's great that you want to give back.
Always on the lookout for you.

Yeah, I'm definitely down for the idea, it's just really hard to say when I will and won't be online. If I'm around though and playing, I'd totally join in.
Typically I'm on after 10:00 PM Central or so, with occasional blips during the day at times. If you set up a schedule though let me know and I'll certainly try to make room for it!
Eh, I don't love the decision, but I get it. I really enjoyed Wasteland and the original Neo-Tokyo (Starbase Arc I could take or leave), but seeing how hard the game is leaning into the E-Sports thing, I understand the need for standardization. You don't see variations on football fields or basketball courts (within leagues) after all.
Still, pouring one out for my homies. Wasteland, Neo Tokyo... yeah, even you Starbase Arc... this $#@%!'s for you.

Wish I could dedicate to a set PA practice, it's just so random when I can play. Always happy to team up when I can though.
