Cubic - Probably the easiest to play; only real differences are a ball that bounces at odd angles and slowly recharging boost.
Beach Ball - Fairly easy, except it seems to take a lot of force to move the damn thing.
Moon Ball - A.K.A. I must go, my planet needs me. Found it nigh-on impossible to hit the ball in the air, flips just send you flying, and missing an aerial has a 10 second recovery time as you sail across the pitch.
Time Warp - So this must be what constant lag spikes feel like. Also Hell.
Pinball - So I hear you like complete and utter chaos? WELL DO I HAVE A MODE FOR YOU!
PSN ID - BlitzAce1981 FFXIV - Raiden Solitaire (Sargatanas)
Damnit, out of all of them that was the one that I was most looking forward to playing.
Too much time warp?
Also, I thought all the cars were meant to essentially be the same (barring geometry and from that some subtle differences based on the physics engine). So how are they improving the turning circle of some of the cars?

My guess was it had to do with the position of the wheels on each car. But really, I dunno.
They probably made them tighter because the ones listed had pretty wide radii
Beach ball mode, on the other hand, seems like it would be impossible to score against a decent team. It can be pretty fun against a terrible team though. I feel like they should have built in friendly fire on touch demolitions.
Moonball is my favorite but if you're not used to aerials yet it might be kinda painful.
I'm sending friend invites to everyone on the steam google doc in the OP, and if any of you want to do soccer cars sometime, add me: http://steamcommunity.com/id/KaelAttrell/
I am surprised at just how much this game has taken hold of me since a friend got it for me some months back. I'm not usually a sports fan, but with Rocket League, I find myself checking for update info daily, watching top 10 play videos constantly, and watching tourney play every chance I get. I even find myself comparing playstyles of lower ranked players and seeing how they fit in to a team model. Finally, I get sports mania. This is such a fantastic game.
@Ellthiteren Sorry I didn't respond to your invites recently. I've been playing mostly ranked games, so I feel bad about leaving mid-game, and then my day starts at 5, so I haven't been dodging you!

No worries! I spam my friends list constantly whenever there's space in the group.
I played a few rounds of hockey last night, and while I am disappointed at how not slippery the rink seems I love that the slimmer puck totally changes how everything moves and makes face-offs not at all about front-flipping into the ball. Also, I have some work to do to be a decent goalie in this mode.
Hockey mode is awesome. It feels completely different from the base RL game, but not broken/lame like other mutations. I SERIOUSLY hope this one sticks around as a standalone mode.
Is the 'launch yourself into a somersault' move the fastest/most power efficient way to move around? How do you consistenly pull it off? (Seems useful for the first touch encounter). And do you guys most often goalkeep sideways instead of front when the ball is next to your own goalpost in the corner? (being battled by the others)
Ah so many questions and tactics I want to debate. Fantastic game.

Actually I think they are all kinda fun.
Moon Ball and Pinball are my favorites
I think my aerial skills are gradually improving; I'm actually hitting the ball more often, and half the time it goes the right way!

I ended up loving it, for three reasons:
1. More crazy little last second adjustments means less whiffing and more awesome shots;
2. Bullet time defense;
3. According to my wife, "slow motion makes it way easier to line up demolitions".

Pinball is just plain nuts:

Edit2: vvvvv I was the only person on my friends list yesterday NOT playing Fallout 4. I was playing Rocket League.
Or are you all busy with Fallout?

Started with a few colleagues, was 03:30 before we noticed we should get some sleep. I need to get better at aerials and keeping high balls ...
Is there a PA steam group for this?
