Android android galaxy s4 audio desync

Hey people, I am having am issue with my phone and I am seeing if someone else has had this and maybe solved it.

About a month ago my galaxy s4 will play a video for about 3 seconds, then the video will pause but to audio will keep playing, and then the video starts again from where it paused, causing them to be out of sync. This happens in every video except YouTube videos. After looking online for a bit I enabled something about gpu rendering in the developers options, but it didn't help. I also saw a bunch of people have had this issue with their Android device, but just the s4, but no they can't find a solution, so this leads me to believe it is an Android issue in general.

I am running a Verizon galaxy s4 with 5.0.1 and when I updated this issue did not occur until months after the update. I haven't installed any other apps during that time, and I would like to avoid a reset so I don't lose my data. Thanks for the help!

Have you tried restarting the phone? I know that's the tech support catch-all for "weird problem I can't solve" but it's solved the issue for me before (same phone and build.)

Yeah, I have done that, no luck. I thought maybe it is because I had too many tabs open in chrome, but it hasn't fixed it. I am going to try to free up some space on my phone and see if that fixes it. Now it is even worse, about an eight second delay.
