Fuck! as I was putting together my new shelving unit, my S.h.figuarts riot Storm Trooper fell again and one of the black nubs on the shield went missing. If I could find it I could glue it back on again, but it looks like it's lost forever. I don't know whether it attached to the sole of someones shoe and left the house or if it's simply in my room somewhere, but I've looked for a few hours now and have given up ever finding it.
If Takara were to make a masterpiece based on recent IDW Megatron design I'd pick that over the g1 in a heartbeat. Sadly, this looks to be the best version of Megatron available and goes well with MP10 Optimus. So I'll have to try to figure out a way to obtain him
EDIT: This broken shield is bugging me a lot. I need a reason to justify leaving it as it is and NOT spending a minimum $100AUD on a new figure to replace it. Maybe I should just remove the shield and store it with the rest of its accessories. That way I won't have to look at the flaw every time I see the figure.
Can you mold some sort of clay or filler (with paint of course) and make a nub to replace it with or would that be a lost cause as well?
I never cared for Megatron, and passed on him the first time around, but for some reason now I sort of want him. Maybe it is because I have a way to display my toys now...

I've never tried making a mold to be honest. That would seem like good solution if I could do it, as there are 3 other nubs I could use to copy it. This is the one that's missing by the wayL
Also, that Third part Megatron above looks cool. If it's MP sized, I could just get that instead of the Offical MP Megatron from Takara, as I won't have to work around imitation gun laws in my country.
EDIT: Wow creating a mold is a lot more involved than I thought. This seems like a project to undertake when I have more free time.
EDIT 2: Good news everyone!
I found the part on top of one my storage containers underneath my bed. No idea how it managed to bounce from my bookcase to the container , the bookcase and container are up against the same wall.
Anyway I used hobby cement again to stick the part back in place. This time I'm going to display the figure a little further on the shelf, instead of near the edge. Money can safely be saved for other purposes now
EDIT 3: Now that I don't have to worry about rebuying the S.h.figuarts Riot control Stormtrooper, I'm tempted to order SOC GX-70 Mazinger Z. It looks cool, damn it!
But if I order it, I'll have to put aside even more money each month to the old toy fund.
Plus, I need to start saving for MP Megatron 2.0 and maybe even the permit to buy and own it. I'm hoping I can get an exemption as a toy hobbyist, but it's doubtful. If it ends up costing me too much money in the long run (like a permit renewal fee), I might just have to skip it. Sure I could tell myself that a renewal fee is just me buying another expensive figure on that year, but it still really sucks that I might have to go through all this trouble for a fucking toy.
Okay, since ordering SOC Maziner Z would cost me about $186AUD with shipping, I think it'd be best if I skip it. With luck it'll be reissued or restocked later down the track.
I mean, it's a Mazinger. Of course Bandai are going to keep making SOC versions of it. They already made like 11 of the damn things.
Although $186AUD is less than what I'm going to pay for MP Inferno, so maybe....NO! Yes. NO! Yes. Maybe? If it's still available for order in December and January I'll consider it.
Glad to hear you found the missing piece. Yeah I looked up how to do molds and it really is a complex process if you want to do it right.
On another note, I discovered that Amazon had one of my missing two figures from TFA that I wanted for cheaper than retail. So snagged that FN-2187 with his removable helmet as an add-on item. Was worried that his card would end up being bent to heck like my TFs I have bought from them. Luckily it came unscathed in a bad cardboard box with the Transformers Bluray video I had to order.

Thanks dude. Yeah I'm glad I don't have to make that mold anymore. I probably would have had to knock off one of the other pieces from the shield to replicate the whole piece, and that could potentially cause an even bigger damage to the shield if I'm not careful.
@Forever Zefiro Do you know how big that IDW style Megatron posted is and if there's a product page up yet? I really am intrigued, especially if it's the same size as MP10 Optimus Prime.
Seriously the new MP36 Megatron has me worried, because I could be spending ALOT just to own it. I think I might even potentially need to buy a tempered glass display cube with a lock, and so far I've yet to find any under 33cm (probably 32cm) that would be able to fit inside my cubed shelving unit.

It's part of MMC's Reformatted line, looks to be about 9 or 10 inches tall. It apparently has swappable parts, like in the pic I posted he has a tankish cannon on his arm, but there's also the front of the jet with a cannon that you can attach instead (kind of like Carnifex), and he has a non-"chest hair" chest plate you can swap on

I always thought of those things as tattoos. Now I can't unsee the chest hair
So just saw that the Walgreens Brainstorm exclusive is now on their website for sale. $2 more than in stores, but at least you don't have yo drive all over hunting for him (or pay an eBay scalper $50- $100).
i think $19.99 is the standard price at walgreens. i only saw the $17.99 price recently and it specifically says sale in store.
Yeah all the stores around me dropped the price to $17.99 right after I bought the 4 wave 2 bots. So figure that Brainstorm will be the same when he is put out for sale.

It's too bad the MMC Megatron isn't MP sized.
In other news, MP36 is going to give me so much grief.
I'll need to buy a display cabinet with a lock, possible join a relevant club, fill out form for approval to to own it legally, and pay $188.20 AUD every three years just to keep it.
I'm all for gun laws in Australia, but the fact that I'll have to keep paying such a high fee for life in my state, FOR A TOY, really fucking sucks.
i'm hoping their "find at a store" feature is accurate because there are some nearby that claim to have stock. we will see tomorrow i guess
unfortunately was not accurate. no brainstorm for me. i may just order it over the weekend. not sure i feel like driving to the others. anyone know what the shipping cost is from walgreens?

Free shipping for $35 and over, so maybe there's something else you can get? Or get 2?

Yeah I just read that the inventory stock takes into account any TFs of the same type. So it might show 4 or so and it will be 4 Chromedomes or something like that. I'm hoping to check a few around my area for a Brainstorm since I have 3 within driving distance. Was going to see about picking up 2 of them in case someone I know can't find one. Not too sure how much the shipping would be to you though. @WingedWeasel With my luck it would be cheaper for you to buy 2 directly from Walgreens.

Oh sheesh! Is that the same price as keeping a real gun? Yeah at that point I think I would just skip out on Megatron completely. Would Shockwave be a problem down there too since he is a space gun? Or is it because Megatron turned into a pretty close replica of the real thing? Does this law also apply to the G1 version which was smaller?

I'm still going to try to get MP36 because I really want it.
I just need to keep asking around for advice on Australian forums. It sucks though because people in NSW will have their fee waived by proving they just want it as a toy, but in Victoria the only way to get exempted is to be part of one of the listed historical re-enactment organisation or collectors organisations (which aren't toy related).

I just want a damn plastic toy!
Wow! So if you move to NSW you can get it with ease but in your area you have to join a group then get them to help you exempt it. Makes me want to buy it now just because I can without such hassle. @[email protected] I remember the uproar that happened when people were mad that the original were either blocked at customs or had to be opened and an orange cap put on before sending.

It's so dumb. I'm thinking of sending another email to the VIC minister for police asking about exempting the fee for Transformer collectors like in NSW, or at the very least reducing the renewal fee.
So far they haven't even responded to my first email. The only ones who have been responding are the licensing regulation, but they're not much help and mostly only direct me to the documents on their website.
So last week I finally gave in and used my bing rewards points to get Amazon gift cards to buy the 3.75" Rey toy from Amazon. It bugged me that I had to pay $15.71 for it but at least I only had to pay 71 cents and tax.
So today I was over at Walgreens to pick up some stuff and see if they had a Brainstorm just for laughs (since I gave in and bought mine from their website). I see they had a Rogue One fig and an older TFA fig hiding behind it. After moving the RO fig I see it is the Rey fig I have hunted for months in stores and online. Even though I already had one I pick it up in case the one from Amazon arrives messed up. After paying for everything I walked out the door happy that I finally found one in person. Later on I checked my receipt and see it only cost $1.09!
Now I wonder if I'll manage to find a Computron at Marshalls for cheap...
I forgot until very recently that I preordered the Zero Suit Samus figma back in June. Glad I remembered it before I moved, that thing was 8000 yen with shipping.

My MP Inferno, MP Optimus Primal and Figma Asato Miyo arrived today.
Inferno is just awesome. I've always wanted an MP of G1 Inferno. Love this big red firetruck of a transformer. Very solid and great articulation. The swappable helmet and faces are a cool feature, although I would have liked the faces to be compatible with both helmets. The accessories are all really great too, particularly the water effect. The two wrist communicators can even hide away in the left arm. The right elbow is hollow however due to the space needed to hide the nozzle when swapping in the right hand. He could have used more detail on the legs though, but overall it still looks really great.
MP Optimus Primal is also really great. I've wanted a good Optimus Primal figure since I first watched Beast Wars. Back when I was younger, I had the choice between the original Ultra class figure or the Tripredacus combiner, and I always regretted not getting it. As time went by I once again had the opportunity to get this figure in the Universe and Takara Legends form, but I always ended up passing because I had other things I wanted to get. Well not this time! This time I got my big stupid ape and in the best version ever made! Great design, paint, accessories, articulation and the abilty to have light up eyes (although I don't put batteries in my toys anymore due to leakage). Despite having robot kibble on the legs in beast mode, smart transformation and sweet robot mode make up for it. The way the arm blasters come out is also genius (poke it from the bottom to raise it out a little), as it helps keep the arms looking clean. I do wish the teeth/inside of mouth in robot mode were painted a different colour than the rest of the mouth.
I think I'm officially over figmas. Asato Miyo just doesn't grab me. It only comes with one extra face that doesn't look much different, the accessories are ok but the mags fall out easily from her pockets, and poseability just isn't good at all. The torso doesn't bend and the skirt gets in the way. Plus the rifle was a kit, instead of ready made. It did give me the chance to finally put together a little armory kit, and I can safely say that I do not want to do this ever again. Which sucks because I have like 5 of these kits that I've yet to assemble. On the plus side, I am now less tempted to buy the little armory minigun.
I think Figma Celty might be my last figma, unless something really cool comes out later next year. The new Link and Gilgamesh look cool though, but not enough for me to order them. Which is good, because I really do want to save money.
I've seen two of him but passed since I couldn't get past his train mode. Hoping to one day find a Soundwave in the wild.
On another hand I bought Blaster from Amazon since they have him for $36 right now. He is huge! For some reason I thought he was the same size as the Voyagers. Missed out on the deal for Predaking.

Just because I'm tired of big red guys, I'm skipping Inferno and going with Grapple instead. He seems to have a little more leg detail too

On another hand I bought Blaster from Amazon since they have him for $36 right now. He is huge! For some reason I thought he was the same size as the Voyagers. Missed out on the deal for Predaking.
