To hell with that Buffy the Vampire Slayer shit. Fucking Christ, man. And Angel? Are you kidding me? Every "monster" character looks like a goddamn Mortal Kombat circa the 90s reject.

Well, this is on a TV show budget. I think it was actually mentioned that the monsters in the new comic are gonna be a lot more monstery since it doesn't cost anything extra to draw.

The monsters in the comic are much better so far. And the monsters are not the fucking point of Buffy anyway. GDHSGHSDGJSHGJSJDFSHGHDS fuck you Anjin

I never really liked the green lantern. The whole my powers come from a magical ring seemed less comics and more Tolkein. Then when you added a whole population of green lanterns it got even worse for me.

i read really old silver age issues that i found in my grandmoms house when i was a kid and it was a magic ring. there wasnt any back story that i knew of it was just a guy with a ring that made green huge fists to knock out bankrobbers. so as a child starting in comics i decided day one that this was a stupid character i wasn't ever giving a chance.

tried it once again in the 80s and it was a huge council of magic ring wearers. i went back to my never reading it again stance and stayed away from DC for a long time simply because of the green lantern. right or wrong i still hold a bias against DC just because of him.

I don't hate many characters because I read their books to see if I really should hate them, then I realize that my preconceptions were wrong.

Generally, when I don't like a character, it's either because of a creator or fans, and that's just a bad taste from things associated with the character, instead of the character itself.

I pretty much just don't like it when characters get too Mary Sue.

ed: For example, a kid figuring out Batman's secret identity or Batman being able to punch Karate Kid.

The Green Lantern Corps is badass. For one, one of the members is a gigantic fucking planet. Two, the rings are based off of the wielders' willpower and ability to conquer fear, so most of the Corps have to be close to badass by definition. They're not magic rings, they're just incredibly advanced and have to be charged, have limits, etc. Three, one of the members is a gigantic fucking planet. To close:

I don't like the fact that Tim, a nine year old boy, can figure out Batman's secret identity when the majority of the rest of the world can't seem to do it. It's the child genius trope that gets under my skin. They wanted to give him a backstory that connected him to batman, so they said he was at the circus the night Dick's parents were killed? Then Jeff comes in and saves Batman from himself by becoming Robin. Then Lady Shiva's all into him, and teaches him bo skills to the point where he beats her because he's just that good. He's better than everyone at everything, even if they're the best at something.

I realize they wanted him to fit in, but, to me, it's just so forced. That is why he's a Mary Sue, and also why I'm not really a fan.

If I can ignore all of that, he doesn't bother me enough to say I hate him and I'd avoid any book he's in, but it's just kind of blah.

Animated Tim is okay, though. He's just some kid. They took similar elements and toned them down a lot. He trained with that batarang on his own, but he still gets knocked around like a kid.

ed: Re: Fiaryn: No. The Sentry's completely different.
