Like, I went through all the trouble to getting rank 5 in IB to get that hand cannon, but I'm never going to use it because I have a superior hand cannon for PvP and PvE.
I don't know what you're using, but a lot of people consider Timur's Lash to be one of the (if not the) best legendary hand cannons in the game. You might want to give it a shot. (Pun entirely intended.)
If you can roll Spray and Play or Outlaw, you can mitigate the awful reload times pretty easily which are honestly the worst part of Timur's Lash. Add on a Luck in the Chamber or Final Round and you have a mini-Hawkmoon.
And that's the problem.
"Yeah, the gun bad, but if you press the button enough times and are lucky enough you can get the perks necessary to make any gun into the best gun!"
Alright, so... it hits like a truck out of the gate. I'd almost call it OP as fuck, much like Fatebringer (and unlike FB, is useful in PvP), except that it has a hilariously long reload time. That can be mitigated through perks, should you be able to roll them. But even if you can't, Timur's Lash is a really great handcannon.
The one I rolled ended up with Spray and Play, Explosive Rounds, and Grenadier, and it's a fun hand cannon. I can flush enemies out of cover with the explosive rounds, or thin out packs of thralls all at once, and get my grenade back in a hurry. And if I'm fighting enemies that don't group up, I can switch the rounds for Perfect Balance and have a nice stable weapon.
Regardless, Timur's is not bad unless you get really unlucky with the rolls. Which is true of many legendary weapons, except some of them actually are bad.
Lots of cool guns in the game, so little reason to use them other than getting bored of the better guns. It might be time to put more "fun" perks on guns, like Firefly or Hard Light have. Sleep darts, disorientation, berserk, poison cloud, etc etc. It'd keep it interesting if you got a gun with one of those rare perks, but likely not a game-changer in PvE or PvP.
I mentioned this months ago, but Destiny needs an Exotic Gun-Game game-type (a la Counter Strike; I don't know if it's been done in other games).
Start everyone with Gjallarhorn, after 1 or 2 kills your weapon gets swapped to Truth, then Dragons Breath, etc etc. Ending on No Land Beyond or Universal Remote, or maybe even melee for the final kill.
Make it a mode with level advantages turned on, and the final kill has to be with a Khvostov 7G-02.

Interesting. I may have to roll a high stability full auto NL shadow with stagger rounds and maybe hipfire
Stagger all the thorns.
Mine has baseline stability and it feels pretty smooth. The sights and middle row perks are terrible. If I want to use this in a serious way, I should probably reroll it.
Judging by that video from the weekly update, you CAN have your teammates quit on you though. I don't think giving people free wins is a "nice" thing to do though, honestly. Those people will have the (correct) impression that they didn't truly earn their victory, thus hobbling the feel of accomplishment. It'd be like if Skolas suddenly stopped moving or shooting and took a nap. Not really the same thing as BEATING him.
Team No Land Beyond and Team Still In Blue Armor from my last Lighthouse run are wonderful people and every time I wield my new solar summoner I wield it in their honor.
Team NLB sounds like a brave group, I salute their efforts. That second team sounds like a bunch of geese, tbh.

Ugh... was at a friend's place way later than I wanted to be. Thankfully I farmed 25k glimmer before I left. Now I just need to rank up to 5 on my alts and buy those Etherics. I'm probably gonna skip the helms and chests, but I really do want those...

I need some Xbox Bananas. I'm over rank 4 and on the way to 5 if I could buy a win...
Made it to rank 3.5, and then my internet cut out last night. Didn't have it all night or all day today. Gonna see if I can get to 5 in the last 5 hours, with only today's bounties available. Oh boy.
I have an etheric light and the only reason to use it on armor right now is for looks, love the VoG helm. But I have a fatebringer and Fang of Ir Yut (? ) the scout rifle from crota. That etheric light is claimed by fatebringer I'm guessing.
Overall, a rather successful week. Hit level 34, got both etheric lights (so once I get a better helmet I can be 34 no matter what I'm wearing), a 2nd Radagast's Fury, a Jolder's Hammer (my first), 2 Spare Change.25s, 2 bad purple crucible ARs, a Revelator, and an Up The Ante. Plus, ran the nightfall right before the reset, and grabbed a 2nd Plan C.
Despite all the rage earlier this week, I ended up with a huge haul!

Eh, as far as I can tell as long as you're not trying to solo Nightfalls aren't really ever particularly hard. I'm not worried about this.
It, however, should be fun to do them. These modifiers just makes it tedious. Soloing with a burn can be fun and challenging. Last week with brawler and arc burn lead to tiger kneeing a fallen walker - fun!
I dunno, I just don't see it being challenging enough to end up being tedious. Besides, it can be an interesting shakeup of your tactics for dregs to suddenly be crazy killy mike foxtrots.
Has Sepiks ever been burn free before? I think I'll enjoy this lasting longer, it'll remind me of the before times, plus the Sepiks music is the best in the game.

Pretty sure he won't last the full song. I'll bet one of my Gjallarhorns on it.

Every week is Gjallarhorn burn!
I'm going to purposefully die on you to stretch that song out... or, you know, be sensible and just listen to it on youtube like a normal boy.
Edit: The real atrocity is having 48 ranks of Dead Orbit across my 3 guys and not having anything more than a single shader to show for it. I gained around 6-7 ranks last week and got nothing but motes and an emblem you can buy.

Unfortunately, spending an ungodly amount of time farming glimmer in the Exclusion Zone has ruined that song for me.
Silly me, I always thought that the song that plays at the start was Dust Giants... not the cool one later in the mission.
