I'm in gold, and his pick rate is still low. It shows at 11% in Plat+ now, and I'd say it's not that high in Gold, though it's 100% in games in which I jungle.
So I just had a game where I picked Zed because we had Zac top and Diana jungle, and the enemy picks Galio into it. I'm like is this guy a genius and knows something I don't. But it turns out that's not the case. I burned his flash and coulda flashed myself to kill him but played it too passively, but then I just killed him right after he came back to lane and I got ult while he was still 5. Snowballed off that.
If I saw the other team locked Zac and Diana I would have assumed Zac jungle and Diana mid tbh. I don't personally know the matchup but I would guess Galio is pretty reasonable if you think you're facing Diana.
Oh, man, that last CS game came down to the bloody wire. Link. We were probably going to lose, but minions neutralized Windmill for us and we were able to get a push through and someone ran top to snag the Windmill and we four-capped to push out the win. Super close the entire game.

Man, my last ten matches have all being depressingly one sided. I have no idea if it's something I'm doing wrong in the current meta or if the match makers just feeling spiteful but it's getting a tad frustrating at this point.

After the 14 game losing streak Monday dealt me across Smite and League, I've gone 6-0. Hang in there!
Well, that's good for that one guy here who blew up at everyone for pointing out that the server move was a good idea for NA, not Japan.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
Big ol' rules post for worlds. For the most part, the rules are pretty consistent with how NA/EU LCS has been conducted all season. Only thing that sticks out as new to the worlds format is that the knockout round will be randomized instead of pre-determined brackets, to encourage teams to win their groups instead of trying to game their matchups.
The tournament will be played on 5.18, with Tahm Kench available and any newer champions disabled.
Essence Reaver could have been brutalizer + vamp + some manavamp component item. Oh wow an item that isn't absolutely terrible to build.
Can't remember where but a red mentioned at some point they were looking at a component for Essence Reaver with the mana vamp passive as a halfway component. Maybe we get it alongside the mandrake ward.
Man bard feels like the "I'm not trolling you, but really I am *wink*" pool of champions. I've literally never seen him win a game, not one. Every time he's picked the player builds goofy or runs around doing nothing. Maybe the champ is bad or he just attracts the "I don't give a fuck about my team" mentality that all shaco players seem to have.

he also has all of 1 combat spell
and his ult is impossible for the average league player to evaluate
I have Bard at rank 5. He can put in work when you know his matchups and when to pick him, and your adc knows how to use heal shrines and last hit when you are wandering for chimes

Riven undisabled but Riven mains saying she feels weird now. This should prove hilarious.
Out of nowhere I decided to play Trundle top. He's always a sleeper pick (especially because he can be kind of...boring) but I think he definitely has a place in the current state of top lane. Duels well early and sustains well enough. In a larger fight, someone dying means he gets massive chunks of health back, especially if he's standing in his W at the time.

Bard is the reason I got to gold and is a disgustingly good support if you can communicate well with your ADC. His ult is also really good at saving teammates from their own stupid decisions. The amount of times ive stopped my mid from face checking a bush that contained three or more enemies is beyond counting.
Bard's stun is quite good though once you practice it, and his AA harass is fabulous as well. He can play like a lane bully.
The main problem is that you kinda need to ignore his hilarious design while you play him, because otherwise you just really really feel like trolling, as you're this balloon guy and you just want to bop around making didgeridoo+chime noises. It's really hard to resist.
I've seen really good Bard play on stream from Aphromoo and Remilia; not sure if they picked Bard cause they felt a little trolly, but certainly they seemed to tryhard and win. I've seen a couple of good Bards on silver teams I've played with+against both in Normals and Ranked. I've done pretty well with him in normals but don't feel confident enough in my ult-decision-making to take him to Ranked.
So I am leveling up a second account because I want an account to practice other rolls in ranked on with out screwing myself. Let me tell you leveling a new account to 30 is an interesting thing. I am level 6 right now about 25 games in.
So I have decided to make a mini game out of leveling via beginner bots.
1. Let the minions AA damage do the last bit needed to kill the bots.
2. No kills, all towers
3. Only clickable items.
5. zoom in all the way.
I randomize which one per game thanks to excel

Played Irelia top against a Heimerdinger only main (his account name was something like Heimerdinqer or w/e). Got no help from Skarner other than a bunch of bitching about me losing lane (I was actually up in CS but lost top tower from being pushed in all game). Sigh.

Fiora can beat Darius only if the all in is close enough that she can W his ult and kill him off doing so. She's one of the few melees that I'd want to fight him with. I could see Trundle doing well in that matchup now too as long as you only ever fight when you're on your W.
The Kindred only makes me more disappointed in Valor and Quinn.
Riot's reluctance to make/inability to balance lane dominators really destroys Quinn. What can she do with her short range and skill set that other ADCs can't do? She can't compete with Vayne for late game damage, and Lucian has better overall range than her.
I think if they go through with more Morde style reworks, they can find space for Quinn to be 'the ADC that can solo top/mid'.

It's not so much that as that kindred executes on the theme of a tag team far better than Quinn and valor do
Played my first few games of dom in a long time. Forgot how much fun this mode is. Also forgot how mean AP Ez is here. Its like finding a forgotten toy and playing with it again.
Played against an AD thresh + blitz duo queue in botlane tonight. That was one of the least fun comps I've played against. Once we got out of the laning stage it was alright but during that laning phase I wanted to quit until after worlds.

Just had a game start out in about the worst way possible, then turn in to a great game anyway.
First of all, I have a Rek'sai top who says he's going to go AP. I have thoughts about this but I don't say anything because it's not my right to judge his choices. He gets first blooded by Rengar pretty quickly, and now I'm level 3 with a level 3 Rengar coming to my red buff. My Ahri mid goes to help me but just face checks Reng in a bush instead of letting me lead and dies, then I die too and now he is 3/0.
I am highly concerned about what comes next. However, my bot lane Tristana is doing great 2v2 and and I'm farming my Sated up, grabbing crabs left and right and we got some dragons because the Rengar ran ignite and was top lane so we had a TP advantage.
The Ahri is doing pretty terribly, like 0/6 but by now I'm rolling and the Rek'sai is actually doing well along with the Trist. The Ahri starts to tilt I can tell and is apologizing in chat for doing poorly, and I tell her everybody has goo d and bad games, this is a team game, just do your thing and we'll be fine.
Anyway, it ends up a crazy easy win with me 18/5 on Xin. Oh, and the first blooded Rek'sai, 11/1/10. AP Rek'sai, okay.
Predictably, the Rengar who threw away a 3/0 start to end up like 5/10 blamed the rest of his team for them losing. Heh.

Hah, sounds like a great turnaround Josh.
I think the ARAM gods are still feeling guilty about that loss streak I suffered, as they not only assigned me and two friends champs we love but gave us this team comp.

Do whatever it takes to win a Ranked game.
