So if it is a juggernaut type update that means several or all the marksmen get updates with a set of new and reworked items in mind.
Heeeeey how about we remove RNG crits and rework marksmen with a new set of items in mind? Come on Riot.
Given that that is ashes thing now and if they did it it would actually make ashes passive a damage reduction (because you wouldn't do bonus damage the first hit unless you w'd them first) I don't think it will happen.
It should, but it wont
Several champions would have to have their passives reworked, sure. If they are doing a full pass on them they should do it right. Yasuo, Trynd, etc. are among the first to come to mind.
There are a lot of them in progress, and we've mentioned a few already (MF/Quinn). Not sure if I should spoil the rest.
There will be a bunch of them with like 1 skill or mechanic change (like the juggernauts) focused on making them more unique. Some marksmen, Lucian and Graves for example, have a ton of overlap in playstyle and strengths/weaknesses. We hope to fix those type of overlaps.
On top of the characters getting "reworks" we are probably going to do a stat/scaling pass on nearly all of the marksmen to go with the updated marksmen items that are being worked on by the systems team.
If they could do it for dodge, they can do it for crit.
Ooh! Maybe they're bringing back dodge!
Instead of making the game more fun by removing stupid "chance" properties, they're going to re-add the other un-fun ones!
Poppy (big)
Taric (big)
Shen (medium) A bunch of small marksmen updates (like the juggernauts)
There are others that we've talked about (yorick, akali etc) but those are still in the earlier phases.
Excited for the poppy rework. Fiancée recently gifted me a random skin and I got the raggedy Anne looking one. That and Poppy was one of the first champs I put any effort into when I was leveling up my account.

Finally set up my desktop computer in my new apartment after a few weeks of no internet or laptop only or playing LoL at my parents' dining room table while people talk at me.
I love this game so much...gotta get back into the swing of it before resuming the ranked journey (the pathetic, pathetic journey from silver 2 to gold 5 that I hope takes place in the next few weeks, that is.)
I did have a great normals yesterday where we had Draven/Thresh vs Draven/Thresh botlane, and my Thresh was definitely better, and, dare I say, I was also better...plus I got a first blood at around 30-some cs, so walking back into lane with BF and boots just felt great.
Still have to mess with my mouse settings, I think; something changed in the move but I'm not sure what.
I have decided that whenever I am forced to mid/top I will just play nunu so that the enemy top can feel as uncomfortable as I do.
I walked into lane cloth 5 against a talon and he was just done right there. He ran out of pots at level 2 and backed. He got back only having more pots. He ran out of pots at level 3 and backed. I was 6 when he was 4. They tried to 4 man bot and I got a 4 man ult triple kill on the follow
Laning versus Nunu has to be one of the least fun things you can do. Whenever I've had to, I just perma shove the lane and roam because it's the only way to maintain your sanity. Nunu can't farm on tower for shit and it's better than just getting hit in the face with snowballs and forced back non stop.
What a Xin game to win a promo. At one point the score was 9/0 and I was 8/0. Snowballed so hard the Nocturne gave up trying to stack Devour and swapped to Cinderhulk. I think he was at 5 stacks at that point and I had finished Sated. Still over 80% win rate on Xin and no signs of slowing down for a while.
Just played Veigar in a game against a Yasuo, expected to get dumpstered, instead got carried by a godly Elise jungle. I ended up like 11/2/17 with 1100 AP because 5 AP on assists is crazy town and I was stacking like mad in lane.
At one point late game I got jumped by the enemy Shaco jungle and I just panicked and smashed my buttons and he just died outright from Q and R and I was like oh yeah, Veigar.
This might be outside the scope of what you are working on, but now that we've seen The Kindred the whole Valor and Quinn tag-team just feels lame in comparison. Is there anyway to further emphasize the whole tag-team aspect instead of merely having a mobile landing platform for Valor?
We're hoping to hit more of this, but it won't be in the way that Kindred does necessarily.
Q&V could probably make an interesting kinda pet style marksman. Where you designate who is on Valor's shit list with your passive and it makes a bunch of your abilities do additional stuff to them if they're in range. Gives her more lane presence that way and also keeps the whole semi assassin vibe. Dunno what the ult would look like for that though.

Current ult, ish? Valor comes in for constant combat - you do Q he does Q etc.
I also feel if you want that to exist and be actually usable on a marksman you're either going to need to turn it into a mechanics heavy design like Yasuo, IE not fun and lacking purity or burd, or the ult is going to have to be fundamentally different/weird utility with the rest of the kit being buffed to make up for it.
Which is why I feel like honestly the best answer for Q&V is probably going to be getting rid of the ult as a straight up transformation.
Please excuse me, there's a song I need to listen to after my second game of Xin jungle... like, I'm feeling ready to try him in ranked after that. 3/1/4 and the enemy team surrendered at 20. I had Devourer at like 27 stacks and kingblade finished.
Such a good feeling.
Edit: They were actually only 4k gold behind at that point. Not really out of the race... but then our team had SCARY kill counts.

honestly her entire kit would have to go
it just really doesn't feel all that Quinn and Valor
it's more like Quinn with a dash of Valor for garnish
And honestly? Valor mode is underwhelming most of the time. Like, 80% attack speed or whatever is a sick buff... but... I'd rather just have Valor echoing all my attacks or something instead (imagine every bolt followed with a swoop for half damage from Valor, kicks get a second interrupt from Valor getting up in their face to re-proc Harrier, etc.)
It would probably be OP as fuck that way. But it would feel tag-team to a T.

I've never really understood people saying this. Valor does 7 of the 9 abilities basically by himself, and you get to control him individually for a decent amount of time. It's "Quinn with Valor doing all of the cool stuff and helping her out constantly" to me.
I mean, it's not an even partnership but he's a bird and not a person and if it were Quinn wouldn't fulfill the "falconer" archetype very well.
(Also the list says "Quinn" and not "Quinn and Valor" so despite what Riot people have said I don't think an even partnership is a fair expectation)
(Also also I'd be fine with it being a transformation ult but otherwise I don't think you can achieve that kind of duo feel)

I think they absolutely nailed what they presented in all of that.
we'll agree to disagree then since the perception of quinn's thematic success is entirely subjective and based on opinion

Hrm. Kind've disappointed with Kindred's final design, tbh. When I saw their preview video, I was hoping for two dancing, inhuman spirits that mirrored one-another, basically exactly like this concept art:
I never expected them to operate as two separate units, but I was hoping they would look like it - zipping through the air around one-another, through one-another, maybe merging together for their ultimate... instead we've got one dude with an effect flying around him.
IMO unless they're going to completely change what Quinn and Valor do, they need to just forget about her as a Marksman in terms of bot lane. They just need to get people to think about her like Gnar or Teemo, as a ranged top laner, because that's what she can do. Her kit is pretty bad for bot lane, but imo she doesn't need a complete rework to become a bot lane marksman. She's actually pretty fun sometimes in top lane as is.

I think the transformation is great (with separate cooldowns, if that's not already the case), but I'd trade away the AOE execute for a single target execute and get to choose where Quinn lands (hint, not in the middle of an area where an AOE execute would have maximum value).

Are you picturing a marksman with a portion of Orianna's ball mechanic?
It sounds more like he's suggesting a thing where you target a person and your abilities do extra stuff to that person. Like Garen's villain passive except you'd get to choose who is Valor's target.
Key point? Must pick two roles. This should help the issue of nobody queueing bot, since support is more common as a second/third pick for people. Also the existence of fill.
So I can queue as Jungle/Fill and get short queues and a good chance of being in my strongest position.
Riot clarified a few things in the comments of that thread too.
1) Roles are weighted, so it's not like you pick two and it's 50/50 which you'll get. You still get to weight your primary role. Lyte says people play on average 2.2 roles in solo queue, so 2 is the number they went for.
2) At launch, no MMR per role, but as they collect data on what the starting MMR should be for somebody who played top for 500 games and then mid for the first time, they will add it.
Then this interesting tidbit:
there's a pretty fun moment in the new Champ Select experience where most of the players in the last playtest did a collective "Ooooo."
My prediction for this is every player gets their own ban. With the number of champs we have now, 10 bans wouldn't be out of whack, and would let people have a ban for something they don't want to play against in their own lane.

That would be good, yes. Very nice incentive for ranked.
Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
