Then I saw images of the Duck Hunt amiibo, and it's bigger and more detailed than I thought it was going to be. Excitement reclaimed.

Duck Hunt and rob have been the two amiibo I've wanted the most since amiibo were announced. I gave money to Gamestop/EB games for the first time in probably 10 years to get the 3 pack tomorrow.

I agree with this. I know it wouldn't be feasible, but it would be awesome to be able to special order a Mii amiibo that looks like yours. But then that would require special molds for every figure, and I don't think they'd do that. :P

I would totally buy a Mr. Potatohead style Mii Amiibo with some swapable parts and decals to make a closer version of my Mii.
Instead of $35 for a 3 pack give us a $25 pack with one base but with the parts to customize it a bit. You don't have to cover all the options - but maybe 6 hairs (short/long, dark/tan/blonde) with peg holes in each for a few hat options, arms for each of the three styles, and a decal sheet or two for eyes/mouth/glasses/facial hair/whatever, and a few weapon choices.

I only noticed because viewing him was in my recent history. The shipping is a bit of a rip-off, but not so bad if you order enough to get free shipping..
I know they wouldn't be the same quality, and they would've been more expensive. But I would have liked them to have a site to upload your Mii, choose a pose, and they do a 3D print that snaps onto a generic Mii base.
