Spotted some breath of the wild Amiibo at a GameStop I poked my head into this evening. I was tempted to get Zelda and a pink yarn yoshi that was on clearance, but I wasn't in the mood to spend money. Bleh.
Pretty sure I met a scalper when I went to pick up my Best Buy preorder as he grabbed all three of the Majora's Mask Links that were on the display floor. Saw him again when I walked into the Gamestop to see if they had any TP links. Sadly they didn't and said they only got enough in for the three people that preordered. You'd think Nintendo would learn that the Zelda ones actually do sell so overproducing isn't as big a worry as it was with the Animal Crossing ones.

the original Link and Zelda languished on store shelves for over a year, and the newer ones were plenty easy to find until BotW hit and demand for all of them skyrocketed.
that was only a couple months ago - way, way too recent to up production on these, given how slow they've been turning the boat on that front

Not that Nintendo isn't dumb with production issues; but making the assumption that Gamestop only got in 3 for preorders because of a limit from Nintendo, vs Gamestop Gamestoping, seems unjustifiably charitable to them.
Edit: And yeah, GameStop is totally hoarding them. There seems to be high demand for the Zelda ones, so there are shortages, but GameStop sold out stupid fast. Amazon did too, but I think it's because of the stupid ass way they waited until the last minute to put them up which sent all the scalpers into a frenzy
I work at a Gamestop and we just got a huge backlog of BotW amiibo in, so I wouldn't be surprised if warehouse was hoarding them. Still haven't seen any 30th Anniversary resurface though. And yeah, I called around the nearby stores and it seems like everyone only got the pre-order allocation worth of TP Link in.

Got my "Sky Warred Sword" amiibo from Amazon. Looks decent except for the drooping sword. Why is it so hard to mold a straight piece of plastic? Is it not 2017?
Yeah Amazon put my Link amiibo in a flimsy envelope and then Canada Post stuffed it into my mailbox like they were trying to get rid of a murder weapon.

I know they cost a fraction of a cent but sometimes it's worth using that half a cent box
The 8-Bit Link gave me the full set pretty quick, and even duplicate pieces. Took me a ton of drops to get the full Skyward set. And that's really the best set. Who could even argue?
What are the chances of Nintendo coming out with more 30th Zelda amiibo?
I regret not getting OoT and 8-Bit Link. They go for four times as much on Amazon.

Good in my opinion. They haven't done a restock yet and they sold out decently fast. Personal guess is they might wait to time it with DLC pack 2/holiday season when a lot more people will be picking up BotW.
Really should get rid of my amiibo packaging, but their molds are really good for storage. Can't imagine throwing them all into a shoe box or something when moving. Have a bad habit of hoarding product packaging and boxes.

I agree unless Gamestop gets another exclusive. I feel they magically had lower stock of TP Link than the other Links

I finally got the Sheik mask after months of daily attempts.
