I love both, but I'ma have to choose pandering to my nostalgia.
In other news, I gave Sentris another shot and while I feel I have a better grasp of what's going on, I'm not sure that I like it. It's pretty and the idea is good but I didn't find it compelling enough to want to play any more. Also the lack of in-game volume options in a game about music seems really dumb to me.
I love me some inventive storytelling but pandering to nostalgia can have some really tight gameplay and still have solid story so gonna have to go with the latter
I like all of Indie's games, but the ones that are like what if they didn't stop making the games I liked back when they made games I liked are, like, the best.
Indie games I'm really excited to play when they come to ps4 include Nuclear Throne and Crypt of the Necrodancer.
Side note - If you somehow haven't played goat simulator yet it is free on the Amazon app store today.

Walking Simulator
Shit, I bought The Stanley Parable like forever ago and never played it. I should fix that this weekend. Same goes for Gone Home, now that I think about it.
I remember a game in development but forget the name. It was a pixel art action RPG where you played some sort of family or clan. Had a Norse feel. It might have been Roguelike, I think you were defending something from evil? Any ideas on the name?

It's probly better if you grew up during the 90's.
Nostalgia walking simulator indeed.
Not really. You'll either go for the game or you won't on its own merits, imo.
I grew up in the 90s but didn't identify with almost any of the stuff in that game that would be considered 90s nostalgia. The snes stuff was about it.

and it's nothing to do with arguments about being a game or not since interactive novels are a thing it's just a different control mechanism
they just don't grab me on a story level, the Stanley Parable almost making it but just falling short
no, next month
For a second I thought you said N64 and got really confused
Oh right yes, for some reason I thought I was in September already.

Since the Stanley Parable is a remake, it's both. Therefore, it is in the superior pandering category.
...Wait.
Which is Gunpoint? I need to know which kind Gunpoint is.
Why I fear the ocean.
This poll is flawed though, because Night in the Woods doesn't fall into either of these categories, and it's the best indie game coming out.
Explore ruins and solve the mystery of life in La Mulana
Dear Esther was p cool though
like every indie game ever (that's not a walking simulator)
Eitr
Jotun
Banner Saga
I have lost over 250 hours of my life to Spelunky.
Over 500 to Binding Of Isaac, between both versions.
It's probly better if you grew up during the 90's.
Nostalgia walking simulator indeed.
Time clickers, specifically
Let me tell you about time cubes
Let me tell you about my dark path that has led me to running an autohotkey script that will auto click and auto upgrade
Nope
Larlar
Dragon of Legends

Wow, that looks really good. I love the music, the aesthetic, and the animations.
oh no this is the one that called me out on being a bad person then resetting to be better isn't it
shit
Speaking of which, anyone know how the development of Hollow Knight is going? I'd look it up myself but I'm at work right now.
