You people are causing me physical pain. I can't even imagine not spending at least half an hour on building a new character.
Agreed. Already got a good idea of how the wife and husband will look, which hairstyles, the dude's beard, stats, perks, everything. Customisation is serious business.
The only problem is that shotguns haven't been confirmed for whether they're boosted by Heavy Gunner or Rifleman. Really hoping they're in Rifleman, as STR will be a dump stat, but shotguns would be nice as a secondary close-quarters weapon despite maining as a sniper.
SPECIAL will be 3/7/2/7/5/2/2 or thereabouts, with each stat generally being one away from a desired perk. Prioritising the perks Armorer, Rifleman, Ladykiller (depending on whether that's possible as a female character), Local Leader, Gun Nut, Medic, and Hacker. Attack Dog would be nice, but while I'd like to take Dogmeat along, it wouldn't be at the expense of a humanoid companion.
Another video's out, just 1 minute of poking around a room with Piper hanging around as a companion. In that minute, she says "always on good behaviour, aren't you?" four damn times. Looks like Beth still haven't learned to make NPCs shut up with repetitive lines...
It was surreal back in Saints Row 3, when my bro, a couple buddies and I each made a character of someone else, and then we played the character that looked like us.

It uses the same body build triangle as Saints Row, actually. One point is thin, one point is plump, one point is muscular. No shots yet of what the latter looks like.

Yep.
In addition to ripped or skinny, theres now a triangular slider thing that will let you make your character large and jolly. I know which one I'm going to pick.
Cheeseburger in one hand, laser pistol in the other.

It's possible they're like energy weapons now, pump action will go with the rifleman and automatic with commando.

At least the character generator isn't a tiny blurry window with shitty light and weird distortions this time.
I've somehow been able to just block this from my memory, cause every time I start up a new character in NV, I'm just shocked at how terrible that character generator is.
Fallout 4 is actually saving me money, since I compulsively buy games on release date cos im a dope, I've been able to use "I'll be playing Fallout" as an excuse not to buy a bunch of games
The weekend is coming and I'm just hoping it'll end soon so tuesday can come.
Hell, I just bought Black Ops 3 just so I'd have something new to distract myself with this weekend.
I've come close a bunch of time buying a new game to tie me over... I can't justify the expense. MGSTPP was almost bought cause it looks fun and time consuming
I saw a kid get handed a JB poster by who I presume was his parents outside my store today....he tore it in half infront of his horrified parents.....There's hope for our youth yet!

Cool. I've been liking games that do that more. I'm not Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I think its hilarious that this stocky guy is rolling around the wastes blasting fools with stupidly dangerous SCIENCE! Armaments.

This is what I'm really hoping. Auto shotguns are whatever, but pump action shotguns are great (and lever actions are godly, loved Lincoln's Repeater in F3). Payday 2 really got me hooked on them.

I was really pissed when Xcom and Deus Ex were delayed - 3 great games in 3 months meant I was looking forward to some solid games for months straight.
As it was, I had 4 months of waiting.
Not long now, though !
4 short days...

I wonder if they ever thought about trying to get Ron Perlman to voice the male protagonist.
Has anyone else been binge-playing 3 or New Vegas in the meantime?
I tried. Fallout 3 doesn't run on my computer without crashing every 5 minutes (yes, I tried all the fixes for Windows 7. No dice)
Fallout: New Vegas gave me an infinite loading screen after 25 hours and I gave up.
I know you said you tried everything, but have you tried the multicore fix for Fallout 3? Stopped me crashing every 10 seconds, and I've only had 1 crash in about 8 hours of play.
Unfortunately, yes
I tried fixing it for an hour or two and then realized my Steam refund window was closing, so I refunded it.
Maybe I'll eventually get Fallout 3 for a console.

I'm gonna make a big, fat, super strong melee weapons dude my first run through I think.
Apparently there is a review embargo embargo. So like game reviewers can't even say when they can say when their review is going up. Bethesda I don't even.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

...Early Bird is a lot more busywork than I thought it would be. It was entertaining at first to try and schedule things around the absurd buff, but now it's become agitating.
I was just watching Jay Leno's Garage, and there is a vehicle maker/sculptor by the name of Baron Margo who did some stuff that I think are very Fallout-esque. His website is pretty shit (very 1990s), but some of the shots are ok
Pretty sure I saw some some say the embargo ends early monday.
To clarify, this is an embargo on when sites can talk about when their reviews will go up or other Fallout related things they may be doing. Weird. But not internet breaking.
I still wish they were called androids, though. Synths feels like a very modern term.
Agreed.
Hearing them say "synth" so much just kind of bothers me for some reason.
The Institute is very modern. Synths are just about the most advanced things in Fallout.
It's the terminology that's modern, not the tech. "Android" has been a staple of sci-fi staple for decades, whereas "Synth" has only come into vogue very recently. I kinda think of it as the Jetsons Test: Would a character sound strange saying it on the show? "Robot" and "android" no, "synth" very yes. But really, it's a minor and subjective thing.
The synths themselves, as in robot people, are fine. I like that they're in, actually - it's a cool addition to the setting and makes the Commonwealth unique.
Leaving that aside, going by the streams, some of the dialogue is utterly terrible. Like, "maybe I won't bother with companions after all" bad.

That gets annoying real fast. I don't want to have to take him out into the irradiated woods with a laser shotgun. ;_;

It's not a proper Beth character creator if it's not recreating the Seinfeld episode with the bad vs good lighting.

You better be careful, man. The embargo embargo might be under embargo.
Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst

I don't think you can put a 99 in strength and endurance at the same time
Ridiculous enough to be worth it, though.

+14 Special points. It's fucking crazy.
You have to be willing to constantly check the time & endure pause for rests, though.

It certainly doesn't roll off the tongue as easy as a made up word like "cylon" but I think it works.
