i mean it's not that exciting because tempo mage is already so poorly positioned as long as patron exists but it tries real hard dammit, it's got heart :P
but yeah it was already just Mirror Entity and Counterspell pre-tgt, and some lists have swapped the counterspell for an effigy, but both are still just kind of easy to play around these days
and when you're already down to just two secrets, drawing them before your mad scientists is just so awkward to play, it's so weak for 3 mana, and then your scientists are dead draws
mechmage has already cut its secrets and i wouldn't be surprised if tempo mage does it as well, and only late game mage decks will wind up playing htem
Been riding the ladder roller coaster. Got to rank 12, now back up to 14. I think i'm fiddling with my deck too much to try and account for unlucky draws in some matches. Now its kind of a mish mash that doesn't seem to gel as well. I think I need to revert back to a previous version and see if that still works.
If you keep running into specific deck types all evening, then change your deck to counter them, you will never meet those decks again. Instead, you'll spend the rest of the evening facing decks that your previous deck would have countered perfectly. It is known.
I've been running a tempo/spell Mage lately that runs no secrets. I couldn't justify losing the turn to something I didn't get immediate value from and the deck has been performing much better for it.
I think if you're a Mage running secrets nowadays you have to run both scientist and Kirin tor in order to make them safe plays. I might be worrying too much about losing tempo, though.

after however many months of playing dr boom against patron a boom bot has finally killed the spawning patron, halting the (fairly weak) combo in its tracks
I say weak because there was no whirlwind effect but he did have my 2 boom bots off of which he could bounce. but NOT TODAY SIR!
I just beat a handlock with priest! That's the third time since... since sometime before BRM. I even remember how all three games ended, because it's such an awful matchup for priest (or at least the priest decks I've been playing). I won once because my Deathlord pooped out his Jaraxxus, turning it into a much more winnable match; once because I somehow managed to struggle against Jaraxxus until he died of fatigue; and today because Jaraxxus was literally the last card in his deck.

golden druid! that's 2 down (shaman and druid). warlock not too far away and I'm thinking zoo would be pretty strong right now since I'm facing loads of ... druids! so many mirrors. someone I played against said they've been having success with zoo and that they added 2 mortal coils to deal with pally. sounds pretty good to me.
anyway look at how fantastically DRUID my 500th win was. so fitting.

Awesome! Gratz, Im hoping to hit gold with my first, Shaman sometime when the Paladin dies down  What deck were you running with druid now?
i dont know how you stay sane. i only play a few games every couple days and sometimes i dont even want to finish my quests. I've got a pretty comprehensive collection, or at least did before tgt, but it gets harder and harder to log in and play against whichever zoo deck is currently the best. most of the new cards are completely irrelevant except in arena because they are not constructed viable. i've been playing most of my brm decks without making any changes and still killing people.

if that's at me, I would say I don't stay sane at all. but I have to say, I see a lot of variety at every rank, even when a certain class dominates (and right now no class is appearing much more than any other where I'm at). and while plenty of decks barely changed the reason there are constantly new 'zoo decks' or like board flooding decks is because of the new cards that have a lot of effect. pally is a new class, shaman is a new class, priest has options
findus I'm using strifecro's combo deck, 2x combo, only new cards are 2 aspirants

ahaha forsen casting a trump game. says that trump 'tries really hard' where as of course forsen when he's not streaming 'refuses to play hearthstone'
just in case you ever thought he cared about losing or was trying at all when he played. I'm sure if he tried he'd win every tourney and certainly his team would have made this playoff.
do secret paladin typically run quartermaster? i feel i often fall behind wasting a turn or other resources removing silver hand recruits but if they land a quartermaster i will definitely end up way behind.

It depends on the flavor of secret Paladin.
Highly aggressive ones will not use it, and instead use Leper Gnome and Secret Keeper, and an even higher number of secrets (they use Double Redemption and Repentance.) Midrange and Control will happily run double Quartermaster.

I feel like the decks that run QM aren't really secret pallies. I guess anything is possible, just from what I've seen if there is a quartermaster there isn't a mysterious challenger which is imo the linchpin card in it being a secrets pally. whether it has boom/tirion is what dictates if it's more aggro or midrange.
I think fi I saw both of those cards in the same game my head would explode
I'm a little scared because the boom/tirion version is starting to appeal to me. but right now the pally I have on deck has no secrets at all, packs justicar and murloc knight.
I've never mathed this out before; will dropping Belcher here increase or decrease the amount of damage that I take? Gut tells me Belcher + Smith is definitely worse than hero power pass, but I'm not sure about just the taunt.
my favorite was someone coining out a piloted shredder which i killed, which popped out a darnassus aspirant which i also killed. It was as close to land destruction as hearthstone will ever get.

Ahh land destruction. I remember it fondly. Druid needs an Armageddon equivalent so their ramp can stay relevant late in the game.
This was so satisfying, dog misses lethal playing Patron and gets PUNISHED as Strifeco wins at 1 hp with Paladin.
I'm hoping value town replaces Dog or at least helps him improve for the next team league because he is certainly the weakest link.
has he played badly besides missing lethal that game? I am a fan of his stream and he doesn't play badly on there that I've seen but I certainly haven't seen every game of atlc

I saw him make a couple of other sketchy/criticized plays in other games, though I cannot remember what they were specifically.
A play I'm rather happy with as a warrior vs a secret paladin.
Paladin has a minibot on one health + silverhand recruit and I've got a deathspite with 1 charge left. He plays his challenger and loads of secrets pop apart from the one that brings a guy back on one health. In my turn, I drop Slyvannas who procs a secret and goes to one health. I then attack with my deathspite, which hits the 2/1 get down chap, and after everything has proc'd, I'm the lovely owner of a fully buffed 9/7 (although not for very long because he conceded pretty quickly).

admittedly I was cheering for value town but is this not the dumbest tourney setup?
value town beats nihilum twice this weekend, loses once and now are out. they played so so many games for seeding when it barely meant anything.
shitload of money for this type of thing to not matter imo. it was like a standard 4 player bracket, into winners and losers matches. and then yet another match to seemingly determine a finals, except that wasn't the finals, the teams had to play yet again and now it's the finals.

Does anyone have a collection tracking site they use? I'm trying to see what I'm missing because there is 5,000 dust staring me down. Oddly enough, TGT hasn't had me crafting all that much.

I can add TGT to my spreadsheet. It'll only take me like 10 minutes.

I wonder if people will ever go back to playing expensive spells, counterspelling Brawl is great, but most spells are only 1-3 mana.

No early game, sketchy midgame, HEAL ALL THE DAMAGE TAKEN lategame.
I also remember the Humility/Stampeding Kodo removal combo. That one was actually cool.
Also, Avenging Wrath. Remember THAT card? Back when Paladin was struggling to really find an identity.

Which is weird because that dude has laddered, at a high level, playing complex combo decks, in three games at the same time.
It feels like maybe he just doesn't do well under the pressure of a high-stakes tournament.
next team league tournament: all three members play the other team's three simultaneously
At least a priest made me feel better by cabaling my darnassas aspirant.

Yeah, winning all those games ensured that they could not get lower than third place in the tournament.

Today I'm playing this list and it certainly feels like your screenshot in some matchups:
