Listening to the latest Beastcast and I'm really surprised Austin didn't know the meaning of "two-four". I know he spent a couple years in Canada and that's a pretty common Canada-wide term.

Austin doesn't strike me as the type to have been into drinking while in college.

I've lived in Canada my entire life and I've never heard that term. It's obviously not Canada-wide. It must be localized to a specific region.

two-four is a ontario term, specifically originating from the May Two-Four weekend (victoria day, sometimes near may 24th), named that because beer comes in twenty-four packs and people tend to drink a shitload that weekend.
I hear it extremely rarely in Vancouver and CONSTANTLY when I'm in Toronto. Once again, people from Toronto/Ontario assuming all of Canada revolves around them

I hear it all the time around Alberta. So it's not just some Ontario thing.

It's really common in Atlantic Canada too.
Maybe it's an 'everywhere but BC' thing?
Though it certainly wouldn't surprise me if Ontario decided it was 'their thing' even if a bunch of provinces actually use it. That sounds about right.

e: i never understand why canadian fast food joints brag about using canadian meat
it's not like canada exists in a vacuum where they aren't competing with american farmers
the reason fast food joints use canada meat is cuz canadian farmers gotta get that meat bought

They advertise using "Real Canadian Beef" as that is perceived as higher quality than saying they import their beef from the states / lets them advertise that they are local and support local farms and you should too by shopping here!! It's just marketing bullshit.
I remember seeing a thing on the calendar labelled "What a day to be a Vive" which I assumed meant they'd be doing Vive launch day shenanigans similar to Oculus. Did I miss that or did they not do it?

Yeah, it was yesterday. Archives should be going up soon.

That happened yesterday. Drew and Jason are likely working on getting the archives up sometime today.

Also Calgary has the largest rodeo in the world (larger than Houston's even) so the cowboys do know what they're doing up here.

yes.
Who cares if I have like 200 e-mails to deal with at work. Some things are just more important.
But I will drop everything to watch more Project BEAST stuff
Now we need someone to Periscope Scott Manley in the chat watching Alex, Austin, and Vinny watch Scott Manley.

"What's the time on that, like 20 minutes?"
"That took us like three episodes."
I'm with Vinny, after seeing how hard the crew had to work to do the same job, seeing Manley do it is like poetry in motion.
[edit] Oh god, he's getting even saltier, this is the best.
