The real genius of Die Hard 4 is that it only escalates. The numbers ONLY go up - at no point does that movie do something lesser than the scene before it.

I just remember seeing most of Die Hard 4 on tv recently and being really confused when they introduce Justin Long's character by having him watch a Flyleaf video. I get that it was the mid 2000s so you had movies doing stuff like having Jennifer Garner stabbing bags of sand set to Evanescence but it felt really out of place.
Just like in Premium Rush where the main guy randomly flashes back to the time he and his ex went to a Sleigh Bells concert.

Agree. I mean, John isn't exactly a nice guy but he's such a dick on DH5. I hope DH6 does not get made.
Timothy Olyphant elevates DH4 from just a fun action movie to something on par with the good movies in the series. It's such a stupid premise but he makes it amazing instead of frustrating.
