Narcos is an American crime drama television series, which debuted on August 28, 2015 on Netflix. The series was created by Chris Brancato, Eric Newman, and Carlo Bernard, and will be a serialized take on drug kingpin Pablo Escobar and the Medellin Cartel The first season will consist of 10 episodes.
Pablo Emilio Escobar Gaviria (December 1, 1949 – December 2, 1993) was a notorious Colombian drug lord. Known as "The King of Cocaine," he is regarded as the wealthiest criminal in history, with an estimated net-worth of US$30 billion by the early 1990s.
I'll be honest. I had no idea this was coming out. But it's Netflix, it's already clearly predicted I will enjoy it, and I do like the subject matter. I'm starting it precisely right now.
The whole show seems to be like that exposition scene in Goodfellas, where one character explains the whole mob business. I mean I love that shtick, but I guess if you're a stickler for less on the nose storytelling, that might be irksome.
Granted, I've only seen one episode thus far. I enjoyed it lots, but one can't help but notice that it's super exposition heavy.
The narration continues in to the next episode. Personally I like it a lot.

Just started watching after eyeballing it on Netflix for a while.
Fantastic first episode. This is one of the most '80s modern things I've seen, from the aesthetics and drug war culture down to the special effects of the blood splatter.
Though I do have a nitpick with the sub. At the end of episode 1, Pablo says "Gringos son putas" and the subtitle says "Fucking gringos". Shouldn't it be "Gringos are bitches"?

Like the lead in for season 3.
