just got a crusader to level 70 (PL FTW). What should I be gearing? What should I be specing?

On the PL, in about 2 hours I went from 1, to I can survive kind of in a T6 game. And did a Grifit level 24.

    Holy PL Batman!

This is a great illustration of randomness as a concept vs. randomness as most people understand it. A sequence of the exact same number over and over again is exactly as "random" as a sequence of completely different numbers. Randomness is a process, not a result.

A great example of randomness from a few years back: people complained that iTunes on shuffle mode would sometimes play the same artist twice in a row. That wasn't random!

Well, it was, but people thought it was a pattern. So Apple fixed that by reducing randomness so it doesn't pick the same artist again.

Thanks for the input on RORG farming and the clan groups. Pausing while playing is very important to the family right now. While the three boys might be in bed it does not mean they will stay there.

I am farming T3 rifts and bounties. Rifts for the g.rift token, followed by gems upgrades.
Hah, I totally get you here. I've been playing after my 3 month old goes to sleep, but that's often "sleep" at this point. Being able to run away from the computer for a minute without annoying someone is so useful. People here are really understanding, though, I'll say that.

Same here, but for 11 mo old. Diablo is very baby-friendly.

we should setup a "family room" where the expectation is someone will drop for 5 minutes at a moments notice.

As far as seasonal monks go: I've already given away another of the lion fist. Super fun this patch. Currently running the shen longs generator build, but have full Uli's to transition to that, just need a fist of azturrasq.

Just got a grin reaper yesterday before work but didn't have time to finish farming the mats to cube it. It's the last thing I need for helltooth Bears, though, and from what I'm told it's hugely important and probably the single biggest dps boost the build has. Very eager to try it out. I will say the Bears are damn awkward to use, though. I might just go acid cloud if I come across a SuWong's.

Yeah, F+R and a cubed Convention of the Elements seems like the be all, end all...for now.

Broken Promises, RoRG, and Unity are also on the list for some builds, thankfully.

Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac for WW and...........................Avarice Band! Yeah that's right. You did hold on to that one you found, right? They're super rare. You want one so you can run this amazingly fun T7+ Arachyr speed farming build I've been playing around with lately. It looks like this:

    Gear

    - 2x Manajuma set
    - 6x Arachyr set
    - F/R
    - Coils of the Spider
    - Goldwrap
    - Hellfire/ immunity/ Ess of Johan
    - cubed: Wormwood/ Quetz/ Avarice Band
    - gems: BotT/ Toxin/ Boon of the Hoarder

    Rolls

    - Helm: Int/Vit/CC/Socket//Lightning or Arcane resist/ +pickup
    - Chest: Int/Vit/3x Socket/+LS//-melee or ranged dmg/+pickup
    - Shoulders: Int/Vit/CDR/+LS//L or A resist/+ pickup
    - Gloves: Int/Vit/CC/CD//L or A resist/+ pickup (alternate: Int/CC/CD/CDR//L or A resist/+ pickup
    - Weapon: Dmg/Dmg %/Str/Vit/Gift//Max mana/% to slow/freeze/stun
    - Mojo: Dmg/Int/Vit/CC/+LS//Max mana/% to slow/freeze/stun
    - Belt: Int/Vit/% Life/LpS//+ pickup
    - Pants: Int/Vit/2x Socket/LpS//L or A resist/+ pickup
    - Boots: Int/Vit/AR/+FB//+pickup
    - Ammy: Int or Poison%/CC/CD/Socket//L or A resist/-melee or ranged dmg
    - Rings: CDR/CC/CD/Socket//L or A resist (alternate: Int/CC/CD/Socket//L or A resist)

    Skills

    - Corpse Spiders/Burning Spiders
    - Firebats/Plague Bats
    - Soul Harvest/Soul to Waste
    - Locust Swarm/Pestilence
    - Hex/Angry Chicken
    - Spirit Walk/Jaunt
    - Passives: Confidence Ritual/Grave Injustice/Pierce the Veil/Swampland Attunement/Gruesome Feast (if Hellfire)

    Paragon

    - I: max movespeed then dump into Int
    - II: CDR/CC/CD/AS
    - III: Armor/Life/LpS/AR
    - IV:RCR/AD/LpH/GF

    How to Play

The basic idea is to run around as a chicken letting your Locust Swarm tag enemies, before blowing up a group of monsters, resetting your cooldowns, and starting the whole cycle over. It plays like the old Jade Harvester build on crack mixed with a little D2 Corpse Explosion. With all the basic pieces and decent levels on your gems (30+) you can speed farm anything in T7- rifts, bounties, whatever. With all ancient pieces and high level gems (50+) you can farm T10 at the same speed. This unfortunately is a build that works best only once you have all the pieces in place- you can't really pull it off with a partial set or missing cubed items. I'll explain why below.

A good deal of your armor, resistance, CDR, and potential damage comes from how Boon of the Hoarder, Avarice Band, and Goldwrap interact with your passives. BotH drops gold when you kill an enemy at x% chance to drop, which you can level up to 100% (takes lvl.50). It also gives you a nice speed boost when you grab gold. Goldwrap gives you armor equal to the amount of gold you picked up for the next 5 seconds. This and BotH gives you so much armor the game just shows ... where my toughness number should be. Avarice Band increases your pickup range by 1 yard every time you pickup gold and it stacks up to 30 times. So what happens here is that as you kill enemies and grab the gold they drop you get more armor and a larger pickup radius, to the point where you are pickup up almost anything that drops on your screen without having to move. Now comes the fun part- your Swampland Attunement and Grave Injustice range is 20 yards plus whatever bonuses you have to your pickup range on gear. What that means in practice is that your resistance and CDR go through the roof and you are stronger the more enemies you have around you. This is also why I recommended Lightning or Arcane resistance as a secondary attribute, as they are the only elements not covered by SA.

Locust Swarm and the explosion from Hex are your main damage dealers, which is why +LS is on so many pieces of gear. That plus a high level Toxin gem is what will allow you to push towards T10. You will be vulnerable until you have killed your first pack and stacked up your toughness and you will need to kill quickly enough to keep your bonuses up (a group every 5 seconds or so). F/R and the tankage from Coil of the Spider will help take down elites and RGs quickly. Once you've got a big enough group tagged enemies will die offscreen and as you run by so a large part of your toughness and CDR maintenance will be done for you.

Hope some of you try this out and have as much fun with it as I am!

edit: Add Creeping Death as a passive. Can't believe I didn't think of it before. It works really well to wear down RGs and such on higher difficulties.

    T7: Grave Injustice/Confidence Ritual/Pierce the Veil/Creeping Death/Gruesome Feast
T10: Swap Gruesome for Swampland Ritual

Also, Avarice Bands are A3 cache drops if anyone is having a hard time finding one.

I finally completed the Destroyer tier and it only took 73 cubed legendaries to unlock the achievement for cubing 50. What a bargain!

In other news I finally found a Madstone. Gambled one after about 10k shards spent on helms and about 30 cubed spirit stones. What a deal!

Like one of the tool tips say I couldn't find as a source to go along with this in a very brief google edited in below, elite % applies to yellow, blue, and purple (named) enemies, bosses, (greater) rift guardians, and treasure goblins.

The seasonal gem Bane of the Stricken specifically saying bosses is one of the few things using a similar term and truly only means bosses and guardians, not named purples or anything else like that from what I've seen so far.

Here we go. Should be the actual tool tips from the game files themselves.
TIP001 Monster difficulty is shown in the color of their name.
Normal ({c_white}White{/c}), Champion ({c_blue}Blue{/c}), Rare ({c_rare}Gold{/c}), Unique and Boss ({c_epic}Purple{/c}).
TIP002 Equip Ruby gems to weapons for powerful damage.
TIP003 Elite monsters include Champions, Treasure Goblins, Rares, Uniques, and Bosses.

I guess I had a pretty good day farming on my OG demon hunter. I'm pretty happy where she stands now. I'm going to test out how I do in Torment 8 tomorrow.

I think I need a better hellfire neck, but its not high up the list of things to farm. I think I need to improve my gear from regular to ancient and upgrade all my emeralds as far as I can. I feel like ditching the diamond in the helm is another thing I should do. Anyone have any other suggestions or am I on the right track?

Some friends and I just purchased this for the ps4 and are having a blast. I cleared the skeleton king with a monk, barbarian, and crusader just to test them out. I am planning on sticking with the monk as I level and was hoping some of you would have some tips. I will usually be playing with at least one friend, sometimes 2. Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated.

apparently they work off the "min" damage roll of your weapon

so if your weapon range is 3100-4200 for example, they go off the 3100.

and yeah, they have all the effects as your own spell casts. For example, if you use Suwong Diviner, which gives your acid cloud the lob blobs, your mimics will also have that applied to them.

They also count as pets, so things that give +pet dmg (like mask of jeram) apply to the mimics.

I agree. It sucks too cause apparently it's slightly better than Acid Cloud for pushing GRs at the top end due to the kitty offhand viability. I may try out Acid Cloud though just to see how it holds up in mid-high 50s GRs.

Off the top of my head:

-level up your gems to 30-40 at least
-swap the diamond for a max lvl amythest
-upgrade your emeralds all the way
-roll life per hit on your bracers to fire %, look for a pair eventually thats ele/dex/vit/cc
-roll armor on your shoulders to vit, look for a pair eventually thats dex/vit/life % or AR/area dmg
    -look for a helm w/ dex/cc/multi/socket
-look for a chest w/ dex/vit/sockets/AR or life % or hatred regen
-look for pants w/ dex/vit/sockets/AR or +evasive fire
-run the numbers on your bow reroll but my bet is you want to go for max discipline over max dmg % or dmg range
-maybe swap something else for Taeguk if you find keeping up the stacks annoying? Iceblink is a good fit for non-season since you're using EF/Focus

Overall looks solid, mostly need to upgrade your gems and get ancient gear like you said.
