My friends and I decided to jump right into hardcore. I will be a witch doctor, one friend a monk, and one a crusader. Really hoping no one dies since it is difficult for us to find time to play together. Do the console versions get the seasons or something similar?

They are working on seasons for console, I think? Or maybe just giving the content updates without the seasons.

I think it's just content updates with no seasons. Kinda hard to do seasons when there is nothing stopping people from taking their characters offline and fiddle with their gear and stats via hacking.
So, uh, the Helltooth 2pc does 1500% damage per second. What type is that damage? Is it like Wizard, where it does the same type as whatever your highest elemental % from gear is?
'Cause if it is, my Helltooth build can use 100% of CoE's uptime if I put Physical% on my bracers. Ha.
The fact that grin reaper mimics benefit from your set bonuses means their walls of death are just as good as yours. Not to mention the extra piranhados they throw out for you. It's absurd how powerful that thing is. I love it. Immediate jump from T6 to T10 when I got it.
The best thing about Grin Reaper clones is that if you have Corpse Spiders - spider queen, they spam that skill but their spider queens don't go away when they cast a new one like yours do. You can have dozens of the things crawling about I have that skill slotted in my number 4 skill slot just for them to use, I rarely use it myself.
So the thing is, you should still be casting Spider Queen yourself. It still does a considerable amount of damage, it is absolutely worth keeping uptime on it.
You don't need to spam it, or anything, just once every 15 seconds or so.

My gut instinct is that it uses your highest elemental %. That would only make sense.

Got a Restraint and Focus set tonight and equipped my hota barbarian with them. Oh my. Me likey.
Doing around ~2b crits on elites is just fun. I've always had a soft spot for hota as a skill, so seeing a build focusing on it being so effective is just fun for me.
SuWong's continues to elude me. That being said, I got two ancient set piece upgrades today as well as a furnace for my cube and a few other things that are allowing me to push 50+ GR so I got that going for me which is nice.
It's not like I'll be doing anything other than rolling Socket -> Damage%, I'm just curious.
Area dmg isn't bad for Carnevil, people are going for it on shoulders or mojo now so you can put +elite% on your mojo instead. Reroll socket to Attack Speed though, not dmg%. AS is king for Carnevil.
edit: You got a good roll on dmg range, I think max is 1940 so once you roll socket to AS you should be closing in on a 3K weapon.
Is there a special way to unlock Transmogs? Do you just have to have something in your inventory or do you have to have it in there and talk to the blacksmith or what?

They just unlock automatically when you identify an item or pick it up from the ground. You get a notification about it on the screen.

Also, different classes and all, I know, but coming from a Wizard the idea that multiple casts of Fire Wall (of Death) and Acid Cloud stack is pretty EXTREMEEEE. Blizzard has been useless (except for Firebird's stacking DoT) as long as I've been playing Wizard because multiple casts do not stack.
There's a lot of really frustrating unfair comparisons, actually, but I tell myself that WD just got a huge patch and Wizard'll come around sooner or later.

So some things don't have a transmog then, yes?
I honestly don't know. I guess not? I thought all legendaries had transmogs though.

What are you having trouble with?
Not all things can be transmogged into all other things. Wands can't look like Swords, and sometimes I don't see other classes' gear even though I know I've picked them up.

Some items need the level 70 version to unlock the transmog. Crafted ones do, uncertain if it applies to drops.
regardless of what precedes it, this statement has been true since CM/WW
nah
everybody should try every class. the game is way more fun being able to experience it from different approaches. and that way if your favorite falls by the wayside you can try another class in the interim
I feel like I'm doing something wrong with the build I wanted to try on my Barb this season. It's pretty basic 6pc Wastes with 4pc IK and a RoRG cubed, but it really feels like the 4pc IK bonus isn't happening at all. It seems like I should be reducing Wrath of the Berserkers cooldown at a crazy rate such that I can keep it up all the time like I do with my HotA IK build, but it's only cooling down a little faster. Technically every time I use Battle Rage it should jump the cooldown noticeably, right? Spend 20 fury, reduce cooldown by 6 seconds. Instead it doesn't affect the cooldown at all. Am I missing something?

Battle Rage does not count toward the fury spent, for either spec. Due to the proc coefficents on WW it is harder to keep WotB up with a wastes build.
To keep it up you will need to also: Run boon of bul kathos, spam rend, or perhaps even both.
It is kinda shitty to manage.
If you are reading this add me.

It's only ATTACKS that spend fury. So no, popping battle rage doesn't proc the set bonus.

All legendaries that are displayable on your character should have transmogs: so things like Weapons, Shields, Helms, Shoulders, Chest Armor, etc.
Things like Bracers, Belts, jewelry won't have transmogs, as they don't show up on your character display. Maybe that's why @Magic Pink wasn't seeing the transmogs on certain things.

i'm just saying, I don't feel like it was a waste. last patch was fun with tals and del. this patch so far has been a lot of fun with UE6 even if Vyrs was an avoidable disappointment on blizzard's part
edit: only things I can think off of the top of my head you can't transmog is corrupted ashbringer, staff of herding, and some classes can't use others class items

Attack speed is a must for Dagger of Darts. Area damage will be a useful stat once they fix the calculations so I would keep the affix.
I have five pieces of Zuni, the torso being Ancient and all pieces being decently rolled, so a couple more drops and I can give that build a shot too.

Just need Carnevil, and an SMK if you can get your hands on one.
Cubed SMK, Mask of Jeram, RoRG
Zuni Boots, Legs, Gloves, Chest, Mojo
Carnevil
Focus / Restraint
Dagger of Darts
Will get you somewhere in the vicinity of 2b damage per dart. With ancient everything and max rolls on most items you can get closer to 4b.
(Or do i fundamentally misunderstand how those work?)
grasp of the dead, pirhannas
Is that 2b per volley of darts, as it were?

No, per dart hit. So you can have 5 darts firing, piercing multiple enemies, for 2b each hit.

Did 2.3 buff that build pretty hard, or have I been wasting time on the ol' Wizard

Yeah, it added Focus + Restraint + SMK + Jeram to the build for damage.
And then reduced the cooldown on BBV and Fetish Army from 2 minutes to about 2 seconds.
So generally is has a lot less holes in it and does an order of magnitude more damage.

buff, but it was the top build (besides zdps) prior to this patch
wizard got a brief moment in the sun last patch
