If anybody has a better way to get the Squallo X7 boat other than tethering it to a big helicopter and going super slow until you reach the ocean...well it won't help me any but it might save others some trouble.
But man what a boat.

NO SPRINT BUTTON This isn’t an oversight; it’s very much intended. Our designer’s intent was to encourage you to use Rico’s unique grapple to move around Medici far quicker than his legs would allow, as well as giving you the ability to traverse vertically.
NO CROUCH Rico doesn’t hide. Getting him up in the air is our version of the cover mechanic. Rico is far more deadly in the skies, than pinned behind a container on the ground.

Basically I've been doing nothing but challenge vids so far. Here I dropped from a helicopter and blew a base the fuck up with no restrictions.

The tethers kept snapping when I tried carrying it with a chopper, so I put it in a dump truck and drove to the nearest garage.
Had to take it in and out of the truck with a chopper though to make sure it didn't blow up.

I actually had a glitch in the mission where you defend the EMP at the cove where if I was on the ground Rico kept doing the 'take damage' animation and wouldn't let me do anything at all. I just kind of shrugged my shoulders and did the rest of the mission airborne. Mounted guns are kind of fun, but who cares when you have infinite C4?

Yeah after much trail and error I figured out the keys were
Urga Homs chopper
Equal weight distribution
Tethers as short as possible
Slow controlled movements
Any swinging breaks a tether or two, and that can shift the center of gravity enough to get the chopper veering off sideways or worse.

Re that boat. There's a flat bed truck in the game. Could you back it into the water, drive the boat up onto it, pull the truck out with a tether, then drive it to a garage?

To keep the tethers from breaking when the boat swings (this also applies to lifting anything, really) make sure they all attach to the same point on the helicopter. It gives a single point for the load to pivot around, keeping the weight on each individual tether much more even.
Patch on PC did shorten my initial load time a bit, frame rate is still all over the place, jumping up to near 60 then falling to the teens, for no discernible reason. Ground is still often missing, but I know that's a driver issue and I'm waiting for an update to that.

Watching the video of the guy taking the boat overland, I'm kind of surprised it didn't blow up on him after hittin so many things on the way down.
Smart thinking though, I initially tried an overland route but I went for the cove closest to the lake and it didn't go well because there is a very steep rocky hillside (cliff) and I kept breaking my tethers and/or blowing up the boat.

Ok the parts where you wing suited through the buildings were pretty cool.
I notice you kept double tapping the grapple when you were using it for a speed boost, was that intentional?

When you grapple at speed that close to the ground, it gives you a speed boost and then starts pulling you down towards the ground, even if you hold down on the controller or keyboard. Previously I was using this on flat level ground to do this
In the second half of this, I'm going so fast everything is a blurr, but I'm not being pulled into the ground. I'm cancelling the previous grapple after it applies the speed, but before it starts pulling down.
In that video, I wasn't holding down. I was just leaving the stick at neutral. I was pulling down slightly in between each grapple, but I'm pretty sure you don't have to do that and I was just playing it safe.
Someone else on reddit (I didn't save the video unfortunately) found a way to use this to climb mountains. It turns out if your next grapple is a higher point, it will "reset" your level when doing the initial part that applies the speed. If you then cancel to another point that is even higher before it starts pulling down, you can go straight up complex terrain like steep mountains with trees etc just as fast as in the above video without touching the ground. You can use this in bases by grappling onto street lights, towers, cliff walls, tunnel walls etc, to continuously realign yourself as you shoot around.
For example, tunnel roof, tunnel ceiling, tunnel roof, tunnel ceiling, keep repeating that at high speed to continuously keep yourself in the middle of the tunnel. It's pretty hard to do this on controller, but easier on a mouse.
However, in that Without Bullets video, I was actually screwing the technique up by grappling too fast, cos I was nervous since I'd failed too many times in various ways.
I ended up playing it super safe the entire video. It's actually possible to shoot through all those areas at the same speed as the "speedsuit" video as long as you grapple fast enough and onto the right things with the right timing to continuously reset your level. When going around corners and stuff you grab onto the edge of the walls and objects so that you sort of swing yourself around.
you have to do it incrementally, a little bit higher, or a little bit further to the right or left if turning, at a time. Sharp sudden changes in distance or height when going at that speed cause big changes in level too fast to react to or recover from with another grapple, so you crash. So no high speed 90% turns sadly. :P

Man this game is a slideshow on Xbox one, it's ridiculous. They need to do something like remove all flowers and grass or something because it's borderline unplayable, unless you like slow motion

It's not been terrible for me, but when a big object like the towers come down it definitely hitches badly. I usually am not bothered by frame rate stuff but it is very noticeable. They should add a toggle that puts it into "low rez" mode so it can be played more smoothly, though that's a concession that game blogs would have a field day with.
In addition to that the chaos of the game makes it hard to tell how damaged your vehicle is, so sudden deaths are frequent, they should have a health indicator or damage indicator or something
I guess I'm missing something? If you're referring to the framerate in the helicopter clip that was posted....it seems fine? It doesn't even look noticeably low to me at any point in that clip, let alone rage inducing.

Dalphir can see the frames we can't. When they're missing, the lack is painful.
No really, some people can just see this stuff better than others. What counts as " terrible framerate" has no hard cutoff. Some people can even tolerate lower than 24 fps.

Yeah, I guess this is just a case where I really don't notice it. I can tell the difference between 30 FPS and 60, and definitely below 30, but I just don't see any issues from watching that clip. Oh well, I'll count myself as lucky.
I can see that being playable, but having played the PC version running very smoothly (you know, most of the time. . .) I can see that being difficult to play too. Also woooo JC3 multi! Wingsuiting around with a buddy sounds great.
On Xbox one the frame rate is so slow in built up areas with action that it makes it difficult to steer and aim, that's my cut off for frame rate issues, I don't care about how it looks but when it feels like I'm moving my crosshairs through mud I get frustrated
I should meet the recommended specs (and the nvidia panel is recommending max settings) but I keep getting a lot of stuttering - drops to what feels like 0 fps.
It happens when I'm moving around or turning the camera and it's making the game pretty unplayable. Dropping the settings helps a little, but not enough.
Anyone else having similar issues?

There is an occasional drop to 30-40 when things get busy , but it handles it well for the most part.
Going offline removed the vast majority of the stuttering. Still the occasional hitch, but I'll try dropping the textures to medium (and a couple of other options) and see what happens.
Thanks for the help guys.
It's crazy to me that the online stuff makes that much of a difference. That kind of thing really needs an on/off option in the settings because who even cares
e: another thing I've noticed is that literally all of my RAM is in use when I'm playing, so maybe that is causing an issue? Considering grabbing some extra RAM anyway since it's not the most expensive thing in the world.
The leaderboards have stopped working for me. I get a bunch of popups about people having beaten me when starting the game, but if I check the leaderboards or when feat scores pop up it only shows my own score.

I definitely wouldn't try everything maxed on a 950. Do you have the Shadow Play FPS meter on? What's your average FPS?
