The Deadline article is just talking about what Misty is like in the comics, it is not making any claims about her having the robot arm in the show.
I hear the actual character is Marvel’s Misty Knight, a former NYPD officer who gets a new bionic arm by Tony Stark after losing hers in the line of duty. She eventually launches a detective agency, helping Cage.
If I remember right only Ultimate Misty had the arm as a gift from Tony and she never even met Luke let alone helped him out so I think they are talking about the show.
What I think would be cool personally is if the Luke Cage series ended with Misty losing her arm, then they do a Tony Stark cameo in the finale where she gets her robot arm, and then she has it in the Iron Fist series.

Misty was seriously injured preventing a bomb attack back when she was a police officer with the NYPD. Her right arm was amputated and rather than take a desk job, she resigned from the police force. Tony Stark provided her a bionic arm which endowed her superhuman strength.
I'm not sure what you mean by "never even met Luke" when she was a major supporting character in the Power Man and Iron Fist series. Not to mention they actually dated for a very brief period:
Later, when Iron Fist broke up with her, Misty began a short romance with Power Man. This episode was a source of tension between Power Man and Iron Fist for a brief period.

Dude I know Misty Knight and Luke Cage are friends
I thought that the arm being a gift from Tony was only in the Ultimate Universe, not something they brought over from 616 and Ultimate Misty never met Ultimate Luke
I'm going to my LCS tomorrow. What is Gaiman's Miracleman #1 supposed to be? Is it a jumping on point of sorts? Or is it midway into a story?
I've read that the original story was never completed because of publishing issues.
I've never picked up a Miracleman book before (the reissues), but at this point I'm interested solely because Gaiman is writing it.
It's not really intended as a jumping on point IIRC (I haven't reread it recently, but it was originally just the same series as Moore's Miracleman.). There is a definite break in the story between Moore's issues (showing the world that we know and how it changed) and Gaiman's issues (showing the world after it has been changed by Miracleman and his fellow superhumans). So it's a new story, but you might be a bit lost if you never read the Moore issues.
Re: Misty Knight, I remember some issue of Uncanny X-Men back in the late 80s/early 90s where Forge said that he (co-?)designed Misty's arm. Retcon by Claremont?
I would.also be down for a bunnicula show of the tone was right
Love those books

Nrama: The solicitation for New Avengers #3 teases a “traitor on the team.” Can you give us any hints about that?
Ewing: It's Hawkeye! Hawkeye is the traitor. He's reporting to S.H.I.E.L.D. constantly. Everyone knows about it, and nobody cares, aside from Hawkeye, who feels very uncool. Like he and Songbird are the parents chaperoning the prom. Anyway, Sunspot's cool about it, since he has nothing to hide... nothing... at all...
Oh wait, sorry. Did you mean the other traitor? Yeah, there's a secret second traitor. No idea who that is.
I love this.
Nrama: You’ve written the Avengers before, with two volumes of Mighty Avengers under your belt. How does your approach to this version of the team differ from what you’ve done before?
Ewing: Well, I was wanting to do something a little different from Mighty Avengers with my next team book. So while Mighty Avengers was consciously connected to ordinary humanity, at least when it wasn't delving into cosmic strangeness, New Avengers is 100% shiny and glam, all sleek space planes, techno-islands, gadgets and secret organizations with cool acronyms. (Which isn't to say there won't be room for the human level here, too.)
ANAD Avengers is going to have Miles and Kamala on the team, but somehow I'm looking forward to New Avengers even more
Please have this JLA series be done by the Young Justice creators
On the one hand, I'd be down with this. On the other hand, if it was done by Weisman and company, it'd be cancelled after 2 seasons and I don't know if I could take that again.

And garnished with jellybeans.
Why I fear the ocean.
I swear, it almost makes me think that Gage saw the original Spider-Man movie and decided to put in his own version of the Green Goblin armor.
Let's Play Final Fantasy 'II' (Ch10 - 5/17/10)
...that's the weirdest battle map of Africa I've ever seen.
Obviously, you haven't read up enough on WWIII.
...I said too much.
Why I fear the ocean.
She dated Kong as well.
Apparently Deadline's announcement of Misty Knight confirms she'll have her dope robot arm given to her by Tony Stark
ROBOT ARMS FOR EVERYONE
Pluto was a planet and I'll never forget
Tiny American flags for others!
Why I fear the ocean.
She didn't always have a robot arm
I can definitely see them deciding a robot arm is too goofy for the street level setting they established with Daredevil but I'm glad they didn't

What a weird, great thing
Taken at WB Studios
Looks like there's a new Justice League cartoon on the way
How have I not heard of this
Edit: oh no it looks terrible
Just bring back Mystery Inc, come on guys
Have we gone to 80s style cartooning?
It's pretty good
That's fine then
I would.also be down for a bunnicula show of the tone was right

I can see: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Firestorm, Either Martian Manhunter or Shazam, Maybe The Flash and a Lady With A Cape
And also:
they did what they wanted to do
I'm glad it was a 2 season thing
On the one hand, I'd be down with this. On the other hand, if it was done by Weisman and company, it'd be cancelled after 2 seasons and I don't know if I could take that again.
Lady With A Cape is either Dr. Light or Huntress, you can see the headgear spikes at the very top of her silhouette
