@Chincymcchilla Have you heard about who the main villian is in the 2017 power rangers movie?
According to the story the film’s main villain is in fact Scorpina, and the film opens with her and her army trying to gain access to the Morphin Grid. The grid provides power to Rangers past, present and future and links them all. If a villain were able to take control of the Grid, it would be a disaster, which is something the film could potentially explore.
Apparently is in continuity and its same Scorpina from the MMPR show.
I got nothing for you now. Try again later.

Naomi Scott, who was Maddy Shannon on Terra Nova and Ryoko in The Martian, has been officially cast as Kimberly Ann Hart, the Pink Ranger, in the upcoming Power Rangers film.
I haven't seen either of those things. SOMEONE TELL ME HOW I SHOULD FEEL
One quick positive though, she's been inundated with very nice comments on twitter, so far a minimum of shitty nerds yelling at her, so thats nice!
She was pleasant to watch and listen to. But I remember very little concerning her action abilities in that show. How she performs the action scenes remains to be seen.

Whats the source of this because Heroic hollywood and other bullshit factories have been saying stuff like this for a while
Theres no way this like, continues the previous film
that makes absolutely no sense from a marketing standpoint

Wait, it's set after Dino Charge and will open with a battle involving the Dino Charge Rangers, before the torch is passed to a new team...but according to that casting announcement that new team has a teenage Kimberly as the pink ranger?
Hmm...and they're talking about Scorpina invading the Morphing Grid which now apparently can connect the past to the future.
They're going to pull a JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot, aren't they? Unless one of these articles is confused.

There are multiple rumors going around that are incompatible
I think sitting it out and waiting to see what happens is probably the best course of action
(Please let them do that and have Jason David Frank as the Leonard Nemoy 'old spock' equivalent)

Just keep King Kong his normal height. Cus Shadow of the Zilla would be fucking awesome.
It would be so much more interesting, too
Imagine the tag team moves when he and Big G inevitably team up against the real bad guy!

I think I said something of this ilk before, but yeah.
Have multi-sized baddies. Godzilla takes on the big world threat. And King Kong goes around punching out the smaller ones and interacts with the human cast.
Ties the human characters to Godzilla a bit more too.

i finally watched spy, dang that movie was good, it makes me actually way more optimistic about ghostbusters. i have hated everything else she did/was in, but this seemed to finally hit a good balance
yeah i just watched it this past weekend too. started out feeling like i was gonna be a bit disappointed but it was pretty good! Didn't change my opinions on McCarthy (they weren't negative to begin with) but made me love Rose Byrne and Jason Statham more. Never seen Miranda Hart in anything but she was great too
i also watched it on a tv with frame smoothing and the CG in the plane scene looked like goddamn flight simulator. my dad got borderline hostile when i informed him of his tv's failings though. "i went online to forums to determine the optimal settings for this tv," he said
fucking frame smoothing is the bane of my existence, everytime I go into a store and all the tvs are frame smoothing it drives me nuts. It looks fucking ridiculous and the fact that nobody under the age of like 35 notices anything drives me nuts. My parents had their new tv on it and refused to believe anything was wrong with it. I fixed it and they barely noticed.
It makes films look like god damn soaps, is there anything it looks good with? Its like an entire technology that is undeniably worse

i tried to keep an open mind in terms of "well, maybe it'll give the action scenes a lil somethin-somethin in terms of clarity"
but it makes all the effects look so shit bad that it comes out way behind
With the hobbit I saw it with the super duper frames thing and it made scenes where they were walking through landscapes look phenomenal, like you could fall in. All other scenes, dialogue, action, etc, looked hilarious, like a behind the scenes set, like a soap. Frame smoothing does the same thing I think, or has a similar effect at least

this is literally what frame smoothing does
it basically fakes a higher frame rate and since we're used to 24FPS in fiction film it breaks our heads to see anything faster, even though it's technically a more realistic portrayal

yeah, very similar as i understand it, though i didn't see the hobbit with it
i imagine certain landscapes could look fantastic, but the exterior establishing shots of the cities in spy looked like footage from the amazing race
I watched Power Rangers as a kid when it first came on and was totally into it
and then after a season or two I still watched it but kind of secretly because I felt like I was getting too old to like it
and then I actually stopped watching it
and now I dig it again* and am looking forward to how a new movie turns out.
*although I still haven't really watched any of the various series in foreverever
I grew up on Power Rangers myself, and still check in on the series from time to time. If you haven't seen Forever Red, you totally should. It's one of the best produced and best choreographed "Western" Power Ranger episodes ever.

I've not seen it, but when it was mentioned earlier I thought "oooh that sounds rad." A bunch of the series are on Netflix aren't they? I'm thinking that I might do some catching up one of these days.

I watched Forever Red during my lunch break not to long ago and i concure with the comment on choreographed fight scenes, especially the unmorphed fight.
I always burst into a laughing fit when during the unmorphed fight it shows everyone just kicking ass and they cut to everyone pulling off sweet ass moves.... and then lightspeed rescue dude just doesn't give a fuck and is just blasting baddies left and right with his power blaster.
I got nothing for you now. Try again later.

Wait, back this truck up. Crimson Peak is not a horror movie?!?!?
Holy shit my mind is fucking blown. I even read that in here when it was posted several pages back and it took me this long to actually recover enough to post!

Carter Grayson does not understand flashiness
the first time he morphs, he tries to punch a giant monster without his zord
The Hobbit at 48 frames is the only time I've ever asked for a refund on a movie
They were kinda iffy about doing it because it had already been an hour but I was like hey look, this technology sucks and is ruining what is probably a perfectly fine film, I don't want my money back, just a ticket to a normal-ass showing

Dude is a firefighter. In, out. Put out the flames. No one dies, everyone goes home.
There's no reason to stick to 24fps except it's what people are used to. It was a limit of technology, it wasn't picked because it looked awesome. Eventually we will move onto higher FPS, kids will love it, and older people will grumble about how old fashioned is better.

Kong: Skull Island in 2017
Godzilla 2 in 2018
Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020
Hooooooooooo boy. Kong's gonna be big.
Godzilla 2 will probably include Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah if their Comic-Con announcement last year was anything to go by.
Sorry it states its a continuation of the show, not the movie.
Here is a link from one article
http://collider.com/power-rangers-movie-villains-timeline-opening-scene-details/
Because the last time they did this fight it worked out so well
(I'm okay with anything that gets me more Godzilla faster)

That sounds really crazy
Involving the current team, having it be a new team invented for the movie, but using an old villain that was never really popular?
We will see
I'm gonna be honest id rather a reboot than that, give me big screen rita
Edit: Thanks for the article though!
No see its not a new team, its the same old team but we just view them differently because of the morphin grid.
Yeah but will Kong have Jack Black in it
That's the only thing I care about
hey satan...: thinkgeek amazon My post |
I know you're joking, but bringing back the old team as older characters who get new powers would be pretty cool actually
No but it will have Tom Hiddleston and Sam Jackson

Okay good I was a bit worried this would replace Godzilla 2 - I'm more excited for that than Kong.
Man how much are they gonna scale up Kong this time around.
