D-pad buttons are also d-pad keys .
As for the other two clues, I didn't think it was too much of a stretch to think that penny-arcade readers wouldn't also read CtrlAltDelete. http://www.cad-comic.com/cad/20141122
And I probably wouldn't have gone with D-pad linking to the comic if Jam Warrior hadn't found the link to 'Controllerangs' and then deleted his post..
Now I need to reconsider how to get 4 clues.
As second player, 4-4 seemed the only way to beat 3-3-3 but increasing levels of specificity to go from Mouse:3 to booduga:4 really doesn't work.
Originally, I thought I was blue, so I was heavily leaning towards 'Ingonyama : 4' which probably just further proves I have a problem spymastering in the internet version of this game.
With the remaining clues being Sound, Lock and Bill, why did you say Alarm:2? Oh, because locks can be alarmed? Yeah, that's a pickle. I'd like to take a shot at spymastering, seems like it'd be fun. No google!

Problem is, with Key still on the board, it's very hard to think of something that misses it.

Yeah, I kinda hate the Google clues.
But yeah, I was hoping you'd get lock and sound and then go back to paper to get bill

We may need a gentleman's agreement that spymasters won't use Google to come up with clues, though agents can still use it to research words they're not familiar with.

To be fair, the only google part about 'controllerangs' was the s (to limit the google results).
Otherwise I was only looking for the most identifiable word in that comic, and it occurred to me to use that comic because another Analog + D-pad comic had only just started.
But yeah, booduga was me adding India to Mouse with google, and I would've thought of the two that that one would've been punished (but no player complained I think).
I should probably also note that the second Analog + D-pad revolves around them foiling a BANK robber.
Thinking about it now, all I can think of for LOCK to split with KEY is hair.
So maybe Hairdryer would've worked for sound and lock? But it's a real stretch.
I also thought 'Ka-chunk' but I don't know if onomatapaeia is allowed or if it would even be obvious that it's meant to be a padlock closing over a key turning.
Google Codenames strikes again! Hmm, an Indian field mouse apparently.
So India and Tail are pretty safe bets.
Ummm, mice have Litters?
Mice have spines??
It's kinda Ivory coloured, maybe?
It's used in experiments by Scientists?
This is really the problem with 4-clues. Your team knows it has to be a bit of a reach for you to squeeze it in and so they will be going for more tenuous and risky connections. You're lucky they stopped at the 3 guesses
Also nobody reads CAD. I actually went looking when you have that clue and still had no idea what you were talking about

But as 2nd team, I still think there is waaay too much time in this internet form for a 1st team spymaster to connect the dots and just run 3-3-3 without opposition.
So you have to go for fours.
And Scientist/Tail/India were safe bets from that clue.
The only question there I thought was Spine or Litter?
And then, yes we were lucky that they stopped at 3, but moreso because then Blue still had Litter on the board.

This is why confidence in clues is the most important part when coming up with them.
Because anything I come up with leads you to "there was way better and less stretchy clues than the one we were given :rotate:"
I'd rather go superhero first...

Especially to a programmer/gamer who sees them constantly and consistently distinct.
That was not the most impressive game of ours, but gg.
CAD are quite obviously keys.
The assassin was SINK.

Haha, actually bill was a mammal clue original because of the name Bill
Then I tried to go for it again with paper

Nah, it would be Hairdryer : 2 for Sound and Lock.
