The g and h keys on my keyboard have occasionally had issues not responding to keypresses, but lately it's been getting a lot worse (and the ' key and up/down arrow keys have started doing the same thing). They generally work if I press significantly harder but that is a huge pain in the ass. This keyboard is a generic mechanical from the early 90s, so I'm thinking it might be time for a replacement.
Does anyone have any recommendations for decent keyboards, preferably mechanicals, that won't crush my wallet? It's been so long since I have had to subject myself to a rubber dome that I don't think I could go back.
The Logitech G710+ is probably the best keyboard I've ever owned. I use the macro keys on the left but not so much the ones across the top, but its nice to know they're there. Otherwise, flawless performance. It's going for $92 on Amazon at the moment

I absolutely love the CODE keyboard I have at the office. The only real complaint I have about it is that the lights for various locks aren't in a great spot.
Otherwise, it's a brilliantly simple keyboard. Nothing fancy at all, but does the basics well. Unfortunately, they are around $150 or so.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

I had fun with the beta, but $60 for just that multiplayer is a big stretch for me, even as a huge Rainbow Six fan. Kinda bummed, tbh.
Makes me wonder where that whole Angela Bassett stuff they touted at E3 fits into this. She can't have been cheap to just be in a few crammed in cutscenes in MP mode.
Just kidding, I rushed over to the suicide mission in ME2 to save Kelly Chambers only to realize I hadn't performed all the correct actions for the sexing. So I stayed true to Liara.
Bioware/most game companies: giving you terrible expectations for how relationships work.
I think relationships in games are probably most realistically portrayed when they're only in cutscenes out of the control of the player. However, I do enjoy when relationships are dependant on the player's actions. I can't think of anyone who creates those experiences better than Bioware and Atlus in the SMT: Persona games. Unless the developers are making some sort of art or demo game, realism always has to take a back seat to fun.
Of course, anyone who looks to media to set his or her relationship expectations is going to have a bad time. If you base your romantic ideals on rom coms, you're likely to spend a lot of time alone and might just put together a lovely collection of restraining orders.
Not that developers couldn't spend more effort on writing romance, but it's hardly fair to single them out while bodice rippers are such a large part of the book industry.

Also, the person in the spoiler cannot be romanced in ME2. Or rather, they don't actually count as a romance. It's just weird and awkward and all kinds of pathetic given how shitty the romance choices in that game were.

Same, except I didn't play the beta. Now, if T-Hunt is still in there, and I at least have the option of soloing it, I might forgive them. Eventually. When there's a nice discount. Like, say, Mad Max's pre-release sort of level. That'd work.

I only played the beta for 20 mins so far but Terrorist Hunt is there and the only mode I tried at all because it was the only one that let me solo it to try and learn the game. There's a tutorial section but it just 3 videos at the moment.
Thankyou ever so kindly! Didn't get home until today, don't ever let someone tell you that volunteering at an Anime Convention is easy work. It ain't. Especially when you're the director of Medical.

All is not yet lost, then. But a campaign would've been nice.
Funny how this announcement was so close to the Call of Duty announcement saying the last-gen versions also wouldn't have a campaign. I'm starting to smell the telltale whiff of a trend...

Oh they are far from the most egregious example. The problem is you find an NPC who is designated romance and all you have to do is select the Blue/Heart option (for Bioware, not sure on Atlus) and they have no choice to fall in love with you. Extra Credits did a great episode on this. It's excellent and makes sense why most games are all about falling in love. It's not bad, it's just limited. And hey somehow I missed this episode on the main romance choice in the Witcher 3 (minor spoilers). I mean of course I link it because it agrees with my viewpoint but it is something that seems to make romance--or at least a different take on romance--more meaningful than "give X gifts, use Y conversations, sexy time."

I've been using an older version of the Razer Blackwidow for almost 4 years and it's still loudly clacking away. $104.25 at Amazon right now (Link).
Pfft. That keyboard only does green lights. The keys at my fingertips are literally diagonally configured into a rainbow as I type.

Terrorist Hunt is there and fun. From what I've read around, the game will come with 11 maps and 20 operators, with map updates being free and new weapons/gamemodes/operators being paid DLC, which is a weird way to go. Glad maps aren't being paid, though, cause that's the quickest way to split a community, but locking gamemodes off is troubling, so hopefully I'm just misinformed there.
! @ReverseCreations is intent on making sure I never finish my backlog! Thanks for the gift of Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky! Can't wait to give TitS a spin I've heard great things about it and it looks awesome.
I think Rainbow Six Siege is.. okay? as a game. The Multiplayer isnt exactly super thrilling to me, but I'm a real sucker for T-Hunt. We should get some RSVegas games going and hunt some terrorists some time.
For $60 and no story at all, RSS is just.. silly

I am absolutely down for some Vegas 1/2 shenanigans. I put sooo much time into those on 360.
Rainbow Siege looks like a more robust version of Payday's mechanics, but with a police seat and more meat to the game phase before the shooting begins. Honestly, that felt like the worse part of the first game as you would not be able to do jack shit until you had your mask on and guns out.
That said, did those early critiques about hostages get addressed? I'm not able to afford it or run it, just curious
The funny thing about that guy flashing his dick on Saturday is that Friday night, I was cutting through some streets to beat a train and ran past and man and woman trying to get ready for a rave and in the darkness of the street, could tell she was topless. I greeted her with a, "Maam" and kept my head to the side and while never breaking pace.
But I'm really curious what sort of couple thinks, in an industrial district, half a block from the club and other part goers, near a bunch of alleys and on a significant road, that its a good idea for the woman to stand around topless while the guy is away from the street.....at damn near midnight?
Finished up Mad Max. Enjoyed it overall but it really kind of petered out toward the end, at least variety wise (it actually picks up quite well story wise). I know everyone pokes fun at WB's games for the Batman combat but they could have copied more in MM. You don't really get much outside of like a shoulder charge as far as new hand to hand combat goes. Almost all the other abilities are basically like, "press A to shiv someone's face in certain situations" or make dealing with specific enemy types a bit easier. The simple combat started off okay, but once every stronghold throws like 2 or 3 fights of 10ish guys, it just gets a bit boring.
Car combat at last remains satisfying, though simplified by the end with the Thunderpoon. By the end I just say fuck off to most activities besides the caravan fights and a few stronghold types, and story related sidequests. It feels like a game I could see there being a really cool sequel to, lots of solid ideas there, like the first Asscreed.

I've fallen back into Destiny. Steam, see you in a couple weeks.
A friend and I are (slowly) running through the base and first 2 expansions. I like the changes a lot, particularly how the original DLC is woven in where it's level appropriate now. The story is still nonsense, and I wish the world was better fleshed-out, but the core mechanics are still great, and the changes are making me wish Taken King didn't cost $40.
