Luckily my avatar already happens to have a skull and abit of cannibalism so I think I'm good to go.
Eating people is in the spirit of Halloween, right?
I play wood elves in Elder Scrolls games. And one of my favorite Skyrim mods I made was a full-blown cannibalism mod, complete with dozens of recipes...
I'd say you've got just the right idea!
It's sad how such crazy-awesome bits of lore in the series are overlooked so easily.
Bloodrayne 1 & 2 for a dollar each? People should get on that.
This.
(The eagle-eyed or stalker-ish amongst you might notice I don't have them on Steam. That's 'cos I have them on GOG.)
They're very old now (2002 and 2004), but they're good solid action games with ranged and melee combat and a lot of blood & gore. BR1's the one with the Nazi-slaughtering (although not in the initial chapter) and goes just gloriously over-the-top at various points; BR2 adds some cool intricacy to melee while toning down the guns, and is a bit platformy in a good way (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was an obvious influence), and has a more coherent story. The two stories are only very tenuously connected (BR1, weirdly, instead of setting the scene is in fact a total side-story!) so just playing one or the other is fine if only one appeals to you. They are surprisingly different from each other, really.
Also, naturally, they fit (to a point) with the "boobs" discussion above, I suppose. Now, speaking of which, what's this about Sakura Fantasy...
Yeah, the first level or two of the first Bloodrayne are really kind of bleh. Great game once you get to The Big Twist though.
I recall them being a little twitchy to make work with a 360 controller but good once I dug an older Logitech pad out.

Unreleased. Partly because I stopped publicly releasing mods shortly before Skyrim came out and partly just logistics: I couldn't release it because it was interwoven with and dependent upon Realistic Needs & Diseases (I integrated with his hunger/thirst system and I had to edit a lot of his work to balance things how I wanted).
Zestiria crash was fixed for me by disabling a third party audio program. Nahamic in my case, but I figured it out from other people saying they disable Razer Something or Other.
Basically it doesn't like fancy audio it seems.
All I have for audio is the logitech software for my surround headset. If I disable that, I have no sound at all. I could switch the headset from USB to the Realtek onboard sound instead, but then I'd have to re-enable that in the device manager, probably fuss with drivers, and then switch it all back when I play something else... that's way too much effort for one game.
apparently you just need to disable the 7.1, not possible to dumb it down to stereo or 5.1 for a while??
Nope, the Logitech G430 doesn't let you dumb it down at all.
As far as "switching it all back" to play something else... might I suggest Soundswitch? Tiny, free program that lets you hotswap between audio devices really easily. It won't switch audio sources between a game already running (you still have to restart a game for that), but I use it all the time to swap from my headphones to my speakers to share a Youtube video with the girlfriend, then swap back to my headset.
Even if that might solve the Zestiria crash, I would still have to manually get up and unplug my headphones from the back-of-the-case USB port and plug them in to the onboard sound card and then back when I want to play something else with 7.1 sound, and given where my case is relative to where I am, it's just not worth the effort. If that sounds lazy, it's partly because I am lazy after long work days, but mostly because it really is an inconvenient layout that I have going on here.

Yeah, the first chapter of BR1 is unremarkable at best, but kicks off hard afterwards. BR2 follows the pattern but in its more traditional level structure, with a largely mediocre and over-long first level, again really hitting its stride at the start of the second level and then not letting up all the way to its incredibly ballsy ending.
Huh, I never did finish the first BloodRayne, which I had on Gamecube. I was probably about halfway through before stopping for whatever reason, It definitely didn't hook me like it hooked Jazz. Definitely some fun to be had in there at the time, though.
I downloaded the demo for BloodRayne 2 when it came out, but at that point my first self-built PC couldn't run it very well, so I stopped paying attention to the series.
I got the 2D sidescroller game on XBLA a few years ago and while it looks nice, it just felt bland to me.
I won't blame anyone who doesn't get on with BR1, honestly. At least if they gave it until the Nazis show up, because that's where it properly gets going after its tepid opening chapter. I loved it - and, let's be honest, Rayne the character - but it's very much a B-game trying to claw its way to A-game status.
BR2 was a genuine A-to-AA-game, if not perhaps quite AAA, and is worth another crack despite its iffy first level. The PC version was pretty demanding at launch but of course it'll fly on anything now. Widescreen hacking is recommended but it'll cause odd scenery flickering at the extreme sides of the screen. (Weirdly, the PC version was hardcoded to be 4:3, hence the flickering, but the awesome original Xbox version properly supported widescreen. Baffling that the PC version didn't.)
I recommend abusing the time dilation (i.e. bullet time slowdown) ability as much as possible in both games. Playing them as slo-mo ballets of death can make them extraordinarily beautiful and graceful games if you do it right. You're limited in BR2 as it slowly drains your Rage meter (fixable with a cheat code IIRC - BR2 has some amazing cheats, actually), but in BR1 you can just use it more or less constantly from when you get it. Totally changes BR1 from a somewhat spastic button-masher into something infinitely more arty and almost poetic. BR2 was, thankfully, capable of being so at full speed as well. It was a huge reason I loved those games so much.

I remember renting that awful Bloodrayne movie and it had on the movie disc a fully installable version of Bloodrayne 2 that didn't need the disc. I totally cheated the fuck out of that game, but it was a blast, really, and I'd love to see the story progress further.
I never played the first, though.
Sidenote: "You saw the blades, what did you think was going to happen?" was my favorite comeback line in that game.

I would tell you but I'm stuck with anxiety at the character creation screen. So many decisions... I just can't choose...
Step 1: Make character that seems cool, has a neat theme, and looks badass and/or pretty (as appropriate)
Step 2: Start game
Step 3: Play two hours
Step 4: Become wracked with doubts about character's appearance and build
Step 5: Play one more hour
Step 6: Give in to doubt and exit to main menu
Step 7: Goto 1
Works every time! Over and over and over again!
Special note: if a game offers extensive cosmetic options, it's entirely possible to stall for dozens of a few hours at stage 1. Do not panic! Simply clear your calendar, prepare snacks and drinks, and settle in. This is your job! Put your heart into it! Within a couple days short time, you'll have a character you can be proud of that will easily carry you all the way through to step 4!

Stuff like that is why I really like when MMO's have options for changing cosmetic appearance that doesn't require a real money purchase. ...and do sometimes make use of appearance changes that are bought with real money.
I still have Tales of Vesperia, Xillia, and Symphonia to play through on my consoles, so I figure I can wait on Zestiria.
It's my first Tales game
Yeah, it sounds like you can start anywhere with them, but since I already started Vesperia and bought the other games over the last few years, I feel the need to complete those first. At this point, I'm probably better served starting Vesperia over, though, since I last played it 2 years ago.
I'm not fucking around here, shit was amazing. I stayed up way too late blasting through Ep5 last night, and went to bed and dreamed about it all night, and now I'm here at work unable to get anything done because I can't stop thinking about that game.
It was sad and happy and horrific and amazing and wonderful and terrible and just play it already.
I don't even know how to review something like this without ruining it. It's a teen drama about friendship and time travel and murders and breakfast foods and choices and consequences and indie alt-rock and why haven't you bought it yet?
It's a teen drama about friendship and time travel and murders and breakfast foods and choices and consequences and indie alt-rock
But I've already been to high-school.
It did have its brisk moments, like that time a dude set my hair on fire with a lighter, but I think I've already got most of the cheevos and it doesn't even drop cards.

I don't understand?
I have a 7.1 headset that works by plugging into a USB port.
To dumb it down to stereo, I have to unplug it from the USB port, remove the 7.1 USB adapter (a thing about 6" long) from the headset cord, and plug the cord into the regular onboard sound speaker jacks on the back of the case.
I'm not clear what extensions would do? What obvious thing is my addled brain overlooking?
I was excited about the move to 3d combat for Tales, but then found it a little jarring that you can't actually move in 3d and can only dodge in various directions. I was super tired when I played last night, only had like 3 battles, and literally nodded off in my chair, so maybe today when I can try it and be AWAKE I'll get a better feel for it.
