We finished the heroic mission with 4 seconds to spare. We were down to 14 seconds but, it was an injured taken psion so hiding . Arteen and I ran around like lunatics trying to find it.
For they effort it takes to get it, Bungie ought to let folks keep their 310 damage sniper.

Tried running the Black Spindle mission with @GoldenHawk and @Evil Monkey, but to no avail. We made it to the boss room three times, and even managed to kill the boss with two minutes to spare, but there were just too many adds to clear. (Protip: Celestial Nighthawk really makes a difference on the boss.)
But then I ran the Nightfall with @shoeboxjeddy and @Trojan35, and got Hereafter as a reward. Not too shabby! In fact, I suspect I'll like this Sniper Rifle even more than Black Hammer 2.0.

Sev: Your gameplay is the most heavily yomi based around. Usually you look for characters that allow you to force guessing situations for big dmg. Even if the guess is mathematically nowhere near in your favor lol. You're happiest when you have either a 50/50, 33/33/33 or even a 75/25 situation to go crazy with. And you will take big risks to force those situations to come up.
But then I ran the Nightfall with shoeboxjeddy and Trojan35, and got Hereafter as a reward. Not too shabby! In fact, I suspect I'll like this Sniper Rifle even more than Black Hammer 2.0.
I kinda like Hereafter, all it's perks together means you just destroy mob spawns and do some nice crowd control with blinding, but that's not really what I use snipers on so not sure how much action it will see.

Our first try went pear shaped, so I wasn't sure of our chances and then we pretty well wrecked it the second try
Ended up dancing around the center platform shotgunning the boss in the back for truckloads of damage and then running away while crying whenever he turned his attention around to me
Also I got the ship!
EDIT: Now to cry while I infuse it into another weapon so I don't waste the free 310
Got level 40 tonight! Now I'm at 202 light level, what should my next plan be to get some light so I can do heroics and junk?
I got like a billion quests once I got close to level 40, not sure what to start with.
I did the gunsmith weapon researches or whatever. I guess I can't get him to level 2 before next week. I'm thinking of finishing up some of the quest chains I have that seemed difficult at lower levels, like the Taken War quests and all that.

Its possible to get him to lvl 2 before next week with a little luck. Occasionally on patrol and even missions, enemies can drop an item that has a long name, but the first name is DVALIN. You can turn these in to Banshee for 200 rep a pop.

So, for those not sold on Hunter's Shadestep I found out something interesting tonight. It really messes with auto-targeting attacks. For example, use it to dodge Taken Hobgoblins that shoot that 3 shot when they die. The shots can't track as you dodge, so end up flying out in opposite directions. You can use it to dodge the Taken Cabal that shoot the slow tracking black orbs, but they retarget you pretty quickly. The best use I've found in PvE is the Valus Ta'aurc boss. His missiles get completely thrown off if you dodge them. They never retarget.

That was fun as hell. Yeah, it was hectic and my pub group wiped a couple of times, but we eventually got it.
I love the way Hakke guns sound. They make noises that force you to take them seriously.
