I swear to god. I have the most useless prescience ever. All day long I've had the word "lammergeier" bouncing around in my head... and then I see these last couple posts. Couldn't be like, lottery numbers or something useful noooo
To be fair, pictures of lammergeiers are still a pretty big win.

Oh for sure, not meaning to disparage the bird in any way Just complaining about my own completely worthless supernatural foreknowledge. This isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened.
And just so I'm not completely spamming off-topic, here's my wife being mauled by Irish Setter puppies
And my kid being chased by one of the slavering beasts
And here they're tearing apart another innocent victim

As adorable as the animals are, I think I'm most jealous of your camera? Damn man, those are sharp pics
My Great Dane pup went for his final set of shots last night. Vet seemed a little concerned about him being too skinny. Weight seemed fine for his age, he just 'looked skinny' the vet said. He said that on puppy food he should be much chubbier. I explained that everything I had read said that giant breeds (and Great Danes especially) should never be put on puppy food because it causes growth too rapidly. Once I said he was on adult food he kind of quieted down about the whole thing. Advice needed: ditch the vet because he doesn't seem to know anything about this breed, just ignore his advice but use him for services like fixing the pup, or ignore everything the internet says and switch my pup to puppy food?
I'd say if you're not fully comfortable with your vet, switch vets. My girlfriend and I took our cat to a vet because we had a coupon for a free checkup, and one of the first things this particular doc started talking about was how many of his cats he had declawed and how he's one of the last vets that will still do the procedure. We are never going back and have advised every single person that will listen not to go there either.

They're sold for about as much as an expensive dog breed.
However, if you live in the US, there are only two breeders in the country. And they may not be willing to ship if the weather isn't good for the animal at the time.
One article I read about it was from an owner who's capy nearly died from pneumonia it contracted on the trip over.
